It’s amazing how something you do can help someone five years later here we are, five years later from when you did this video. My dad just gave me one of these completely torn apart in a box like you just did. He said it lacked compression so he tore it apart, and the only thing that appeared to be wrong is the compression ring was stuck closed because of not being run in a while. He went and got a brand new one identical to this And gave me his old one which should still be in perfectly good condition once I get it back together! Thanks a lot brother.

Thank you for this video. Bought a 125 that didn’t run. It needed a piston. I played and paused your video all the way through the fix. New piston. New carb. New spark plug new primer. New fuel lines. And it RUNS! Thank you!

I will tell you what I found on my 125B blower. Ever since I bought it in 2015 the air filter box had been loose. I would occasionally tighten the nuts holding it to the carb. However, over time they would loosen again. Finally, I took everything apart and you will probably be surprised what I found.
I figured it would either be the intake boot or the standoff block. It was neither. The person that built my 125 had not put one of the carburetor bolts into the flat on the standoff. In fact they had the rounded part of the bolt over the flat and had used a nut driver to completely collapse the flat on the standoff block. This is why I could not tighten the nut with my nut driver, because it was free to turn instead of being constrained by the flat built into the standoff block. My carb had been leaking like a sieve between the carb and the standoff. It took me over an hour to get most of the grime out of the covers and off the engine. I also had to drive the bolt out of the standoff because it had elongated the hole in the block, actually termed a thermal insulation block. This block was also not tightened properly to the crankcase pan and must have been wobbling all over the place during operation. I replaced the boot and the block, 1184’ing them all together. I also put 1184 on both gaskets, except on the sides facing the carb. After re-assembly I picked up double the compression and it works fine, now and I can press the primer bulb without the air filter box even moving, as was the case before.

I loved this video, your breakdown was so clear and complete. I found this cause my neighbor ask if I could fix his blower, looked up Husqvarna 125b blowers and got yours and looked no further. Only thing was the coil gap. Found that on another video. Thanks for such a thorough video very much appreciated,

Hi Eshlemania. Thanks for a thorough job on explaining each component of the blower. I am going to break down an old Echo that died on me a few years back. I appreciate how you explained in detail the names of each part and how to disassemble the blower.

Great help! I was given one that "never ran right". Took it apart to see one of the fuel lines not connected to the bottom of the carb. Hooked up the hose and it runs perfect!

Dude... You were so thorough yet you never told us what the air gap needed set at! Reassembling the engine would have been nice to watch as well considering every other minute step you included. Nonetheless, it is a great tutorial and should easily give confidence to anyone looking to do a tuneup with new gaskets or leaking boot FWIW, after not being able to find a straight answer, I went with .010" for my air gap.

Good video. Watched the whole thing to see how to set the gap between the ignition coil and flywheel, and you skipped that part. But I learned a lot. Thanks.

So what was the gap on the magneto legs against the magnet and why didn't you show how you installed that with the correct gap?

Get vid! thanks. .... did you say anywhere what size torx driver takes off the muffler? I put in a a new carb (fuel lines are correct), tested coil, put new plug, it seems to have compression (w thumb)... still nothing. Can't get it to pop. May have to do the complete rebuild.

Thanks for the video, I have the 125 VBX which appears to have the same engine with the different impeller to mulch the leaves, am I correct in my thinking?

I bought the same model from a garage sale and replaced the carburetor, fuel lines, ignition coil, spark plug and the piston ring since it didn’t have any compression.i have spark and fuel going into the engine and i have lots of compression but it still won’t start.does anyone have any advice on that?

It would have been nice if you told us what the air gap setting was between the flywheel and the coil I've been told it's 14 to 16 thousand.

Just insert a business card between the flywheel magnets and the ignition coil. It should set it to the correct gap.

why would you skip one of the most confusing parts? I was liking your videos and looking forward to seeing how to correctly re install the piston/crankshaft into the cylinder.

    • @EshlemaniaTV
      @EshlemaniaTV  5 років тому

The piston just slides up into the cylinder. You usually don't even need a ring compressor or any special tools to do it on one of these engines. Just squeeze the piston ring with your fingers and the gently push the piston (Already connected to connecting rod) into th ecylinder.

Painfully slow video. Way more detail than needed for a teardown. Probably could have done this in 15min

I think he’s doing this for people who are not mechanically inclined. My father just gave me one of these that he had completely torn apart. He went and got a new one instead of putting it back together he got the same exact exact model as they these things, and probably a decade and a half when they came out. Only thing wrong with the one he gave me is that the compression ring was stuck closed but it just pulled apart and now it will work fine.
