Freya and Kratos: tragic; a great warrior has fallen.
Shield Maidens: did you cook her like a Thanksgiving Turkey?
HAH! fitting. noice.
Spatchcocking Gna for Thanksgiving
Gna essentially betrayed Vanaheim too since she was a Vanir Goddess.
Kratos: ...What's Thanksgiving?
Okay, Sigrun and the others going all Mortal Kombat when Freya told them she killed Gna is golden! They're so polite and then SO vicious!
They really, really, really, hated Gna. I bet they probably hated Hrist and Mist just as much.
@@kade-qt1zuthey definitely did
She probably the reason of corrupted Valkyrie.
@@FnD4212 No, Odin is.
@@efaristi9737 All of it causes by Odin, like Odin manipulates Nidhogg to his bidding, so to Gna.
Going to be honest I love the decision to give him a spear. It feels like him going back to his Spartan roots, after all Spartan Hoplites were masters of the the spear. It's like he's reclaimed a part of his humanity.
He did mention such to Brok during Draupnir's first combat test. "It is the first weapon a Spartan learns."
A spear is the first weapon he uses in god of war.
not to mention the allfather is portrayed with the spear that changes form

@@hoshiryu wtf🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I'll join you in that mission.
It’s so heartwarming to see Kratos honoring his word to Freya of “never robbing the choice of life and death again”, first with Odin and now Queen Gńa.
He keeps his word to the letter.
The best thing about Gna's fight is that Kratos helds his promise of not robbing Freya the choice between life and death. He didn't rip off the wings like he did with other valkyries.
The shield maidens probably wished he did.
@@matthewriley7826 the sudden tonal shift shocked me lol
I really wanted too after dying to her so many times even at times where she had barely any health.
Sigrun and the other Valkyries wished Gná was turned into her incorporeal state so they could kick her ass themselves. Fuckin' respect.
@@CSSoda fr lmao they are often graceful but didnt hold back this time
Sigrun: "Did you rip her wings off? TELL ME you ripped her wings off."
This made me chuckle considering that was Kratos preferred finishing move in the last game.
(But seriously. The one that asked if her "spine was ripped out", DAMN, Girl! They'd love you in Mortal Kombat.)
That was Gunnr who loved war and battles in mythology. It fit perfectly.
Makes sense considering that she was the one who summoned Draugr during her fight
In Kratos' head 'My people. Talking of brutal finishers.'
It's be funny if they kept taking turns saying stuff that incidentally Kratos had done in Greece. And Kratos just stands there awkward thinking 'they don't know that I have done that'
That made lauch so much
I cried when Freya Apologized. Such a heartfelt apology, enough to move entire realms. The VO for Freya did a phenomenal job
I feel for Freya; she was stuck between a rock and a hard place when it came to their conflict with the Aesir. No matter what decision she made for her people, not everyone was gonna like it.
@@comicalcosmonaut959 plus she got scammed by mimir
I can't think of a single bad VO in this game. I don't think the game would've been half as good without them.
I'm 40 and I watched the whole video game industry since from the start. A game that can move emotions like that IS amazing.
"SURELY you tore her spine out through her back ! " Damn, the valkyries would love Mortal Kombat fatalities moves.
Ironically, Kratos was a guest fighter in MK.
I mean he did that to them

Gna was absolutely an enemy that needed to be put down, but she was 100% dead on about Freya's victim complex.
Baldur calls her out on it in the 2018 novelization too: "That's right. Nothing is ever your fault!"
She's only kinda right about the Baldur situation. For everything else she's dead wrong. Freyr admitted that he was wrong when Freya confronted him and Odin was the reason she left Asguard. And when it comes to Baldur, Odin is even more at fault for his death. He used him as a tool and made false promises to him in the first game, and even though Freya isn't perfect as she says her self, at least she cared for him, unlike Odin.
@@dzagoproductions3450 mate it's because of freya that baldur brok it was easily manipulated all Odin did was take advantage of something that she did. Manipulated him but the damage done to Baldur
@@lightninghood7876 Freya mentions that Baldur was always frustrated that he couldn't please Odin so it's safe to assume that he has been using Baldur ever since he was a child. And I never mentioned that Freya isn't at fault for the situation she apsolutely is, even she says it herself, but it's crazy how people seem to be ignoring Odins influence on him and how the Norns themselves mention that Freya, Kratos and Baldur were all at fault. Also, even if you want to put all of that blame on Freya, everything else that Gna mentions is dead wrong and pure Asguardian propaganda.
It’s not kratos fault at all.😂the mf should’ve never come seeking the smoke and he’d be Gucci. Kratos would still be running around the wild woods yelling boi if Baldur never came to his door with the bs. Who can blame him? And it’s not like he was gonna let it go and let them live after the first fight, so bro fate was sealed because of his parents😂
It’s not like he was like where tf is baldur at so I can snap his mf neck? And besides he warned this guy multiple times to (and I quote) LEAVE.. MY.. HOME!👹
It's better to die with honour than with living with dishonour that’s a life of a true warrior
Who cares about honour. In a fight, anything will do
@@TravellerTinker true but say that to the samurai
Or just don't give a F what others think of you.
@@forgottenpast1195 The samurai who actually fought didn't care about honour and stuff. Like chivalry, it was pretension, trappings of nobility, adopted long after they abandoned their roots as a warrior caste and became the ruling class
I read it as living with dinosaurs
I was expecting Gna to pull some stage 2 boss fight move and attack them when their guard was down, but instead she accepted defeat and chose to go out with honour. Sad at what Gna had become; twisted by anger and pain, I think when Freya comes admitting she’d done her wrong and apologized while encouraging her to let go of her hate and vengeance for her own well-being, Gna realizes freya’s not the devil she thought she was and was, in turn, confronted by her own empty, insufferably lonely life of hatred. So with nothing and no-one left and unable to let go of the one thing she had, her list for vengeance, she opted for death.
I think she was like "Girl, bye!" Freya caused so much damage and there really was no reckoning for it. The Norns AND Gna had Freya's number and called her out.
Eir laughing knowing gna is dead is fucking great it’s the laugh of “that bitch got what’s coming”
Freya: She is no more-
Eir: Ha ha H🅰️🅰️🅰️🅰️🅰️
That caught me so off guard
I hope after the game Freya creates Folkvangr, a second Valhalla led by her in mythology. This perhaps includes everyone instead of just dead warriors.
If we go by the prophecy painting, she is by Kratos' side to rebuild everything as the resident Gods. So I think you may be right.
I'm pretty sure that it already exists
@@TruTrae Yeah there was a guest where it is mentioned. Perhaps she reforms it instead changes it to something else.
Mimir mentioned Folkvangr once it likely accepts the souls of warriors who didn't seek either fame or power and simply want to rest in peace and might be in Vanahiem instead of Asgard
I did not expect an uncensored decapitation after defeating Gna. Glad they didn't sissy out on Ragnarök.
Should’ve known at the beginning if you rushed an enemy, with the axe and you kill them. You can actually chop them in half or chop off their head and. That wasn’t even an execution, that was a normal sprint attack.
@@elviraweekes3906 That's just an animation though. I was talking about from an actual cutscene.

Sigrun and her gangs post-2018 GOW are menaces 😂
I love how Freya uses Kratos' own words about how you have to move past vengeance as it will only bring more pain.
"The Valkyries are no more" is a fitting statement, because that title refers to their role within Odin's scheme: choosing the slain to be made Einherjar, a Valkyrie that betrays her office is practically not one anymore.
Thrud might bring honor back to the station.
The fact that Freya jumps in to interrupt all the traditional Valkyrie "cutscene attacks" is what I love most about this fight.
I like freya tattoos glowing they give her a nice touch you know
And it’s REALLY pops on an OLED display like holy $h!t!!!
@Muhammed Davis, it's definitely a nice effect for sure. Does anyone know how to achieve this?

Probably a glitch or something
Seeing Fenrir, Jorg, and the Valks ripping around in the background during the movement through the battlefield was brilliant. The only thing I am disappointed about was that we never got to see Gondul who everyone was smitten over due to being so insanely gorgeous
You can see her before Kratos blowing the horn tho
@@odysseus1131 Well I meant without the gear. She is said (in game) to be a knockout of such a level that it drove men insane. Hell, I would be interested in seeing that.
We couldn't keep playing the game if we saw gondul since we would have become insane ourselves as the players
Of all the supporting characters.... Freya has my heart. That vanaheim section is my favorite portion of story. 2 adults realizing they're not so different from each other.
She might not have been a queen but she still had the dignity of a Valkyrie. The way she spread her wings and bowed her head. This series moves me yo 😭
While Freya was with Odin she did some shady things even to the Valkyries, Gna did not like that and when Odin betrayed Freya, Gna took the first opportunity to take her place (even though she knew Odin also was doing shady crap with Freya) she was glad that Freya got stabbed in the back and became queen but she knew that Odin wasn't someone to put too much confidence in. ( my take)
Gna was sick of all the terrible things that Freya had done, and to her, the last straw was likely with Baldur. She probably didn't even truly believe in Odin. She just wanted to kill her.
Yall got it all wrong freya was fine with odin even developing some feelings for him people even at some point odin loved her but he blinded to be able to know everything, freya teached him some vanir magic but he wanted more than that he wanted her to teach him the old magic he also wanted her to put the spell she put on baldur but she refused because it made baldur mad thats when things started getting sour, she made the decision to marry odin to proclaim peace sacrificing herself for her people but they abandon her all because of what odin did they thought that freya have left them but no odin wanted to destroy freyas reputation so that night when they argued she left but odin still watched her and bound her to midgard to not be able to fix her relations in vanaheim her sacrifice was seen as selfish and abadoment to her people.
Eh it was more she was sick of Freya playing the victim card.
Why don't you guys read the journal in this video instead of coming up with other stories lol. Freya doing shady things to the valkyries is just wrong, not in character and makes no sense. That's like saying Kratos abused his son off-screen.
@@EE12345well the journal doesn't solve anything!! It says freya played victim and with her son that's exactly true but why wpuld a random hand maiden of herself hate her for that??
I wished we could’ve seen the Valkyrie’s unmasked. They’re so elegant, classy and fkng ferocious all at the same time. I kind of felt bad for Gna, if you read her journal entry, she does have a point about Freya deflecting blame tho.
I can't feel bad for her because I have no idea why she's angry at Freya aside from leaving Odin which I can't feel bad about because he's awful
I'd bet their faces are all painted to high heaven with tons of battle tats
The axe pommel you get in the 2018 game is way better than the shield thing. Maybe if you pair it with the shatter star shield it can do some serious damage but it's way more fun to hurl the axe into orbit
(Freyah beheading Gna)
Kratos: "Basic."(remembering what he did to helios)
Bit cleaner than using your bare hands, but still pretty epic.
Ah yes the good ole Valkyrie heel crunch to the face…
Got to love it…
4:33 nice touch having kratos about to do his usual valkerie finisher before restraining himself. It almost looked like he was tempted to for a second out of habit, then proceeded to mind his own business lol
My god the music throughout this entire battle just gets me in the feels. so many battles with the Valkaries but this one just hurts the most because you fight with Freya. There is a new level of personal than before.
“Yes. Sister.” That ending was beautifully dark.
God that Valkyrie theme brings back some memories…
One thing I absolutely love about Freya is that she is a flawed character- it’s so easy for someone with her power and personality to be a Mary Sue, but she clearly has issues- and I for one think that’s great writing to prevent her from being a Mary Sue
Sigrun was way harder imo. Especially on Give me God of War.
Gna low key spitting facts..
While i don't agree with the second example in her journal...Gna's take on Freyr and Baldur are pretty spot on.
@@JagernottyI think in the second take is talking more amour how Odin exiled Freya from her realm with the ramble knots preventing her from traveling to other realms, in that case Gná is also spot on, while yes Odin is definitely evil, he reacted such way because of Freya’s own machinations against him.
3:07 I love that save
Love how the shield maiden wants to torn out the wings as what kratos didto to them lol
Wish we could’ve seen their disappointed reactions, “You only chopped off her head?!”
Her journal entry hits hard
Damn that campfire is powerful enough to stop the goddess Freya😮
I'm really surprised that Freya, after her plea to Gna before killing her, had nothing to say to the other maidens reveling in her death.
True, kind of wished she reprimand them reminding that despite her being loyal to Asgard she was still a friend before she was a traitor in their eyes.
the magic on freya arms is sick
Completely finishing the game and getting that platinum trophy on this note looks damn satisfying
Gna could have been a very powerful ally. She's the Darth Vader to Odin's Darth Sidious.
@@R4v3nB14ck kratos
I just thought about it but Freya is the first deity that fight beside Kratos.
0:55 you can see Gna flying in the background, maybe she was spying or fighting someone. That's cool
2:30 LOL Freya, what are you even doing?
Freya was always Queen of the Valkyries she was simply spending the time in God of War Ragnarok to reclaim her throne
8:38- 8:52
I was like:
“ Wow!!!! You ladies really didn’t like her at all.”
“Especially Gunnr, Holy shit did you play Mortal Kombat?!” 🤣 🤣
That part got me off guard.
I love how this was everyone's platinum trophy
Man.. Freya keep getting lost someone important to her...
Long live the Queen
9:08 Why does it look like Freya is flexing her muscles in the final armory screen? 😭🤣
I really wished Freya didn't kill Gna, but instead offer her mercy like Kratos did with her, and then the two work on rebuilding their relationship. I get she asked for this but still, it feels it would've been more powerful if she had spared her and try to make amends rather than just kill her off like that.
Bro, she did offer mercy.

@@sirsmiteful6285 I know but I still wish she didn't kill her, and took the path Kratos did for her.

What was that Relic move with the bunch of swords attacking GNA at the start of the fight? I need that lmao

@@dionx4250 thanks.
That move is busted af
Kratos looking at Gna's body like...Should i take her helm? Will that be appropriate?
Sell it for some hacksilver or melt it for new Armor of the Valkyries 2.0 for Kratos to use?
Hey what was that build you used to beat Gna and amulet attachments
Gna was one of the hardest boss fights I experienced in a while. The amount of damage dealt vs her HP, how she strings together 3-4 unblockable moves. And that f*cking death from above attack. “FOR ASSGUARD”
How are freyas tattoos still glowing? Is that a suit she gets?
Looking at Gunnr, Eir and Sigrun's wings then comparing it to Gna's, if it's metallic that means they're corrupted, even if they're living right?
I think so
the craziest thing is that he beat gna's ass first try
my view is that if freya had a dnd class it would be a multi class circle of the shepherd druid and divine soul sorcerer
In my school vr game gná is a boss but it's a trigger boss ( trigger bosses are bosses that are made from your diction gná was when her bff at the time monarcha/carla ( go play resident evil 6 and you see what I mean ) was killed by goalius due to her being a major threat and gná was furious) and the boss fight was something else highlights include gná cut goalius left antler off goalius scrambled her eggs ( all internal organs destroyed ) and gná getting punched in the face 15 times and then gets curve stomped on her 5 times and that crunch showed she's screwed like she can't even move and Freya ( of all people) saved her by Valkyrie tackled Goalius into the wall will kratos took her to the shield maidens and by the way the crunch with the X ray shot showed that goalius paralysed gná waste down and rekt the wings
Honestly those 2 are lookin good together :)
6:03 "There can be only one."
Man…. I can’t wait to see where is Kratos going next……. I’m almost confident it will be Ancient Egypt, but it would be cool to see him go to Japanese mythology simple because he could get a katana as a new weapon
Nice for Freya to give that about vengeance not being worth it to Gna. Just like what Kratos said to her
Damn them Valkyries was COLD BLUDDID
What should I do psycho all I wanted was 4 to be happy
Might be a stupid question but how are your freya's tattoos glowing?
i open the video two unskippable ads, i skip 2 mins another two like wtf is this

How could i achieve the freya tattoos glowing ?
Damn! Those shield maidens are hard core! 😱
How did you make Freya’s arms glow like that?
Im wondering too
the shield maidens are kratos' type
What was your build for the battle against gna
For Asgard, for Asgard, Forrr Asgard
I kinda sad there is no 0 Button interaction with Freya after Ragnarok ends:'(
how did you get freyas tattoo always glowing??
General = Kratos
Lady Freya
And then just "Mimir" ... bruh
Sigrun and Mimir used to be together so the relationship is a bit more casual. Mimir probably prefers it that way given his physical limitations. And it probably pains Sigrun a bit to see him like that
Question: Why is Gna's helmet like an Aztec helmet?
That’s brutal
LOL, The Divine Lady was ALWAYS the queen of the Valkyries. And "Lady Freya" is a tautology as "Freya" means "Lady".
I haven't played the game, but watched a lot of videos, and I gotta say I really didn't want to fight Gna. I wish it was an option to just give her a chance to see things different, but I guess that's the point of the game. Like the Lyngbakr, Gryla, Odin, sometimes that's how things are and you just have to take it.
If that was the old kratos, he would already rip out the wings and use it for himself
3:09 How can you make Freya block that attack?
This must be the PS5 version I’ve never seen her arms glow when I beat Gner

What armour is he using
Personally the valkyries rejoicing over Gna’s death was a bit disappointing although fitting of character. If I were in they’re position I would mourn the time when Gna was my sister in arms where we had fought side by side. The important lesson here is remember your fallen ones for the good they were not for the broken they became.
I cheesed the hell out of that boss fight
Is it me or is Gna the only valkyrie to dress sexy? The rest have functional armor except her.
I guess Odin's a simple man
@@JiG248 And it's his way of saying to Gná: "I own you in body, mind and soul."
8:42 I like the Valkyries but why did it seem like they were getting off on it?
They get off on fighting in general. They're valkyries lol. It helps that Gna is a traitor in their eyes, so they were just relishing in a traitor getting her just deserts.
