The point of that track was that there's just one end and that's it. This is why I hate the Chester replacement because it's such a sick stomp on the songs on the old songs and their meaning. Wouldn't be replacement if they just focused on playing new songs.
When he said that I broke down.... Chester does live on in all of us. Now let us embrace Emily and enjoy this new chapter of Linkin Park. I'm here for it!
@@Luke.Skywodka because Rob stepped back and decided to quit pursuing music couple of years ago for personal reasons but still supporting the band members as a family and friends. As for Colin Brittain (new drummer) we did see him around with Mike before so kinda familiarized with his presence. But in the Livestream all were introduced.
YESSSS! it shows how they r not even trying to replace Chester, She came to add as a New member! The Chester Legacy (as some r using as excuse for not accept a woman in band) will always be there for us to listen, in LPs, CDs, Online and in the feeling that keep in every fan and in the band too.
I am 60 years old, I have always listened to Linkink Park I was moved by the suicide of the vocalist and I don't know why when I listen to the new vocalist in this song I have tears in my eyes The girl is doing fine, she is great and is a new beginning, a new era for Linkink Park I think that she cannot be compared to the tragically deceased vocalist, but rather should be viewed through the prism of new creativity After listening to this song, I am equally in love with the "old" and "new" Linkin Park, although still the same May they delight my senses for a long time Good luck Emily!
I swear to God, people learnt absolutely nothing from Chester, and this is the most depressing thing i've seen in a long while. In the past 7 years i had hopes that such tragic event would open peoples eyes, and they would be more mindful with what they are saying, and that they would do everything they can for the same tragedies to not happen. I will forever remember Chester's last speech in Birmingham: ".until all this nonsense stops, and we can start loving each other, we can stop hurting each other, because we believe in something different than the person standing next to us. The one thing that can't be defeated is love. You can conquer hate by ignoring it, you can destroy it by loving the person next to you..." "...We don't care what you look like, we don't care where you come from, we don't care what you believe in - we love every single one of you out there, and nothing will ever change that" Please, just slow down you all. Think about what you are doing, and what you are saying about Emily and Linkin Park 🥲
100% i get its hard for people who are attached to chester we all are Emily isn't replacing chester. he will never be replaced its a new chapter and i at least am so grateful she is carrying on the legacy of linkin park and i truly believe chester is looking down and smiling upon emily cause she has been just fantastic you would think with how we lost chester that if these are truly linkin park fans or chester fans that they would not be just spewing some of the toxic stuff i've seen and heard i pray its not real linkin park fans or chester fans but just trolls and haters
No one will ever replace Chester. And no man can fit his Shoes. Emily has a great voice. Linkin park deserves to go on. She will find her own shoes for the journey
This guys need to go forward.they are artists and have families, the most important they didn’t die that tragic day.the future is uncertain. but what I love the most is that they don’t give up yet.Emily is amazing.
As soon as Emily hit that first chorus, we knew she’s awesome and she’s going to it in. Rest in Peace Chester. I know you’re smiling down on Mike and Emily.
I honestly love this song. I always see the hate all over the Internet, and it makes me think, what would chester say about people putting down others because of their opinions. It's sad to see, but im glad that Mike and the crew are able to make new music. I also have great hopes for Emily, no matter what happened in the past
@@hitblank2320 I've seen some. Not in this comment section perhaps but elsewhere. With some genuine valid criticism sprinkled in between. Primarily with regards to how they will tackle the old songs because they simply cannot be performed and done justice to without Chester or at the very least a somewhat similarly capable male vocalist. This isn't hate on female singers or some misguided clinging to the past putting their old material on some sort of pedestal, it's simply the case that female and male vocalists are different and have different strengths. Having said all that, broadly speaking I'm just happy to see new material from them, plenty of bands would never be able to return after what they went through.
So sick of people whining that it's not Chester. Emily is an incredible singer ever since the Dead Sara days. So those who can't deal with the fact it's not Chester, just remember I'm pretty sure Chester would have wanted the band to continue. Even Chester's wife approves of the band moving on with Emily. Chester isn't coming back so people just gotta deal with it. I don't care about her religious background at all, I only care about how she sounds and the music and feeling she makes with the band. I think her voice fits perfectly with their sound. She sounds great in this single and I'm very curious to hear what the rest of the album sounds like.
Her not being Chester was the whole point she was chosen. Mike himself mentioned that during an interview. Getting someone like Ivo or a tribute band singer would turn LP itself into a cover band because that singer would sound almost like Chester, but never 100%.
@@fallinginthed33p Exactly. And still, even though MANY toxic fans would have wanted that and have said as much, they would have been quick to b*tch that he's trying to be Chester but falling short. So you can't please everyone and I'm glad Linkin Park isn't trying to do that.
@@jasonbodden8816 To be critical, Ivo's pronunciation is a mess and he leans into the nasal part of his vocal range too much. He's like an uncanny valley version of Chester which would be a terrible choice for LP.
Chester was the pain. Emily is the rage. Different, yet connected and similar in many ways just as these two emotions can be connected to each other. She brings the energy and the vibe the band absolutely needed, just like Chester did in a similar way when he joined the band many many years ago. Chester can never be replaced but tbh Emily shouldn't be a seen as replacement nor will she ever be "replace" him. She is part of the LP family now and a fresh addition and the beginning of a new era of Linkin Park.
Lol I didn't hear any "rage" in her sing-screams😂😂.....they sound weak af😂😂.......chester screams were rage and many other vocalists got that rage vibe to their screams too lol.
@@BaconSlayer69 I know that. Most pf LP albums speak the same language since they cover the same topics in many songs. A topic chester suffered from. Yet, Emily, at least to me, is just the pure rage for now. While she covers the calm parts in the songs quite nicely, I do know that most songs were written for Chester as a vocalist in mind, in terms of his voice, and it's hard to emulate these songs for Emily right now (I see the little concert as a homage to Chester and the old LP). So, right now I just here rage in Emilies voice, in a good way, of course, like Emptiness Machine. And I actually can't wait to hear the actual new album with songs specifically made for her and the "fresh" band.
@@davidjames6036My God just looking at your comments in this video proves you’re a certified hater. Get a life, and then maybe try to enjoy it you pathetic internet warrior
Funny how everyone on the internet acting like they're saints once faced with change. Emily is just a person, a human and not just some mindless follower. People are sooo quick to judge someone because of their past and what they've done. Acting like themselves haven't done something they regretted. No one is perfect, neither is Emily. What she is, is someone respecting the legacy of Chester and honoring not only just him but the Linkin Park as a whole, including the fanbase. What she is doing now, is breathing new life into the band, moving on. If you actually watch the live show, you can feel the passion and if you watched the interview, you can feel the connection they all have. I've been a fan for the longest time and sure, Chester can never be replaced and that's the thing, they're not trying to, so enjoy like they are.
Exactly. People who are hating on her were never true fans LP. They were only fans of Chester so when he is suddenly gone they think Emily will destroy the band with her past but thats not the case really. People need to figure out how to forgive someone and let them grow and be a better person. If you as a LP fan cant trust Mike and his decitions then there are none you can trust.
I appreciate your kind words. Because nobody is saint. We all are humans and we are full of mistakes. Let's pledge full support to Emily and the whole band so that their music journey keeps on going ❤❤❤❤
honestly, the kind of songs linkin park makes is very well-suited for a girl like Emily. she probably has been through a lot on her own given her background, and with that comes a lot of regrets too i'm sure. the band doesn't seem to be giving up on her at all and i'm sure the more we get to know her over the years, the more respected she'll become. with all that in mind, the lyrics may reflect on her a lot more fittingly than people realize at first.
This song is pretty much about the haters (among fans). "I let you cut me open just to watch me bleed". Emily is killing this song, she is so good. I don't care about her past and her beliefs. She fits perfectly in this band.
Finally someone with my kind of mindset! I'm very happy that I'm not the only one who thinks that "no one is Perfect" and who's willing to give Emily a chance to make this band great again.😃👍
Linkin Park has had many eras, many times where their sound has evolved. For people who only liked one of those eras, this may or may not be what they like. But for the people like me who enjoy everything from hybrid theory to thousand suns to hunting party, this is just another new sound. I have had this song and the live set on repeat for days and still can't get enough.
I understand what you mean, but I don't think that's the problem, the problem is living before Chester, or after Chester. for me the LPs were those of meteora and hybrid theory, what happened afterwards is part of evolution, commercial choices or whatever. I don't think calling it a new era is correct, rather a new beginning, because without Chester any other singer would have been doubted and therefore the choice was between making a legendary group disappear or trying something new
Found my people. Im so tired seeing "fans" forcing a band they claim to love but cornering them to a box they like. As if these band arent human beings that matured and evolving too. And then they do the mental gymnastic to defend their flawed selfish need. I remember that I liked LP's last album and was so sad that people are talking shit about it. Then Chester died. Then suddenly everyone was listening to it and praising and JUST THEN paid attention to the lyrics. I was furious. These "fans" dont deserve to defend Chester. Not to mention forgetting there are other members in the band too. Posers, I say. Selfish posers
Lol no need to disrespect chester like that lil bro 😂😂....linkin had a severe downgrade in vocalist but it is what is.......linkin has been a pop rock band for like over a decade now anyways so she is a good fit for that type of sound 😂😂
@@davidjames6036you are cripplingly insecure, not only did you say lil bro and use laughing emojis to hide your sadness. But also just stupid if you think that was disrespecting Chester. They filled the emptiness which is a fact. Sorry you can’t comprehend information 😂
@@davidjames6036I think it's much more disrespectful towards Chester to think that even without him there are still LPs as they were born. There were 3 possible paths: killing a group that had made history, continuing with Mike as the sole vocalist, or starting a new chapter with a new member and continuing the project. In my opinion they made the best choice
@@christianalbergoni1364 FACTS Chester would be proud of where they have taken the band, they've given it a new beginning, and I'm so fucking excited to see where they go from here.
It's crazy how large the number of people seem to criticize LP and Emily. But the music video for "the emptiness machine" doesn't even have 2% dislikes. And almost a million people voted. I mean, that's a statement from the fans.
Linkin Park is back. I'm glad that they are back. Welcome to the band, Emily Armstrong. I am glad that you came in filled the void of the group. You will do great, though. I have faith in you, Emily.
the amount of mental abuse Emily has endured over the last few days turns my stomach. she broke down emotionally on stage, people. that was before the hate had even started. yet these same self-righteous people sit on their thrones and say they're doing it to support chester and the fight against mental stress, while their actions are the exact opposite. it's cyber bullying at its finest. i've read the articles, i've watched the scientology "experts" on UA-cam change their story from day to day (call me skeptical but their view counts are skyrocketing. why wouldn't they try to keep that going), and Emily has my complete support. Do i know what happened at the trial? No, I wasn't there, but I'm lucky enough to have friends that if they thought i was being falsely accused of something i didn't do would probably act in the way Emily is being accused of. what about chester's son condemning the band yesterday? yeah so what. he's been doing that for awhile now, long before Emily was in the picture. being a "fan" does not give any of us the right to Demand anything from Emily or any member of the band. If it was me, I would tell everyone where to go, but Emily issued a few statements. Even those weren't good enough. not worded correctly, "its PR". geez just shut up. Oh and these statements that Emily can't sing are just laughable. Multiple vocal coaches have reacted and said she's fantastic and has great technique. Look, if you're emotionally attached to the band with chester's voice, that's fine. I get it. hell when van halen switched vocalist to gary cherone i coudn't stand it. but that was my opinion. did i bully the band about it? no, i didn't buy the album, i didn't go to any shows and i quit listening. that's everyones right. but lets stop with the hate and let the band and Emily get on with making great music. Ray, I apologize for ranting in your comments, but its been building all week and i guess it was time to release. Always love your reactions. I highly recommend checking out Emily's band, Dead Sara.
The thing about the trial is, you either support your friend or don't. If you support him and he turns out to be guilty you look like a bad person and if you don't support him and he turns out not guilty you look like a bad person. It's a no win situation. Also it doesn't mean because you suported him at the start that you end up still suporting him at the end of his trial. Personally this whole issue shouldn't even matter, no one knows the whole story. I'll concentrate on the music and her killer vocals.
I appreciate this. I was starting to wonder if I was a bad person for being skeptical of this all. I swore I wouldn't end up like Melanie Martinez fans (making things up and treating her like a saint) but I CAN sympathize more- the truth is we just don't know and until we do I think we have every right to feel excited.
100 fuckin % agree. There are so many idiots complaining about Emily and bully her for her past, because the can't change their own feelengs about LP and they can't accept changes. But I hope, that this situation dissapear with time. True fans, who care about band will stay and keep support. Now it's thunderstorm, but if we wait some more time there will be sunny day :)
The more I listen to this it almost feels like a song written as a response to the reaction they knew they would get of the song itself, like they knew that people were going to bitch and moan about their choice but at the end of the day its just the ever changing internet age the "emptyness machine". I think she was a great choice and end of the day its not about picking the best singer or whatever opinions people have, they are a band, they auditioned and tried all their friends for the role, imagine being stuck in a band with someone you don't get along with, went real well for inxs.
i know this probably what song was about but the more i listen to it seems like when mike sings ''i gave up who i am to be what you wanted me to be.'' sounds like he could be also talking about how he gave up who he was to possibly make chester happy and at the beginning of linkin park mike "just wanted to be part of something." Probably looking way to far over it but like i said it sounds like that the more i listen to it. Love chester though and hope for the best for Emily and linkin park.
@BloodBunii Make me, it's the truth, I have been listening to this band longer than you have been alive, probably. She cannot sing the older songs with any power. It sounds terrible.
During their hour long livestream show just under the 26 minute mark Mike said... "I'm Mike, this is Emily, and Chester Bennington is in each and everyone of you"... a new era for LP a new direction and man did she perform well. If people did not know this song broke 5 music charts and set a new MILESTONE in terms of UK music charts. If you think this is her vocal range, man, you should watch livestream... and the crowd, holy crap was that one heck of a show of support... Lastly, Chester's widow support Emily being part of LP and Eminem also. Lastly, something isn't beautiful because it lasts (grieving and thinking of Chester). I mean, what is grief, if not love persevering?
I think the closest analogy I’ve come across is that the fans are the children of a person getting remarried after the death of their spouse. She is not, will not ever replace Chester BUT she is the vehicle that has helped the band return to making new original music. It’s only natural that fans will have a mixture of complex emotions. But if Mike and the rest of the band are happy, let’s trust their judgment and give them all our support.
She did nail it. To be frank, each person is their own original version of themselves which is hard to get and I feel this is an amazing job done by LP for the road ahead. I'm sure Chester would have wanted this. To me I feel like the band has some how rewound back to the year 2000 to find their fit, only this time amongst people who know already them very well.
I really love her, but I hate all those haters that only seeing her past, fuck all those thing that happened in the past. Move forward and support her. Emily she really a talented singer. She will not never ever replace Chester. But agreed, with what you are saying, She seems like a good fit for the band. As long as LP they still doing music, for what happened when they lost Chester. Thats miraculous. And it's not easy when come down and making decision. 😢❤
It's clear that hypocrisy runs deep in the world. I vividly recall the backlash Linkin Park faced when they released *One More Light*-the hate was intense, and Chester had to defend the album in interviews. But as soon as the tragic news of his passing came out, suddenly everyone was the biggest LP fan. The album that was once criticized was now hailed as one of their best. It’s a striking example of how people’s attitudes can flip so dramatically. It’s almost as if the band anticipated this with their song "Until It's Gone," reflecting the way society only truly appreciates things once they're lost.
Ok if someone dosen't like it they don't like they'll still be Linkin park fans but not any new stuff so putting quotes on fans makes you look like a dumbass
i checked her other band dead sara and going down the rabbit hole a little bit .. ty LP for introducing me to the wonderful emily armstrong , im in love with their song ' anybody' ❤
Let's be honest. There was absolutely no possible scenario in which Linkin Park returned without people complaining. Whether they got a male or female singer, a singer thay sounded similar or different to Chester, or even if they fully rebranded the band and changed the name, there was no avoiding it.
Mike Shinoda explained during an interview that the process to find a new lead singer was very organic, so much so that they were not actively looking for a new lead singer. They didn't expect at the beginning to revive Linking Park. Mike did his solo stuff, then they started again jamming with the former band members and other artists. When they jammed with Emily, they created a few songs with her and Mike had a feeling that it sounded like Linkin Park and he trusted his feeling when he decided with everyone else to restart the band with the same name. The first live concert was meant to be a surprise with the release during the live of the new song, the videoclip, the date for the new album & tour tickets. They had been working on it for at least a year already and he was afraid that everything would be leaked because they had to involve an entire production team to setup everything with the distribution and everything. The more people you get involved in a project, the more at risk you are to get leaks. But it all played out perfectly and they offered us a masterclass on how to do a successful comeback. And the new singer, Emily, sounds and feels like the old Linkin Park while she's doing her own thing. Mike introduced some new band members during the live concert and naming who they are replacing, then he finished in a way that perfectly describes it : "I am Mike, this is Emily and in the role of Chester... this is all of you". With regards to the controversy around the Church of Scientology and Emily's friend (I forgot his name) who was condemned in court for a sexual crime, I'm sure that they were aware that it would come up in the news but I guess they made the bet that their fans would be intelligent enough to give her a chance considering that the Scientology stuff is only a few pictures that are dating back years ago (2013 I think?) and we can all make mistakes supporting a friend until we find out that he was wrong. It can happen to anyone of us. It's not as if she was attending Scientology events every week and her last activity with them was dating back 2 weeks ago you know. 10 years ago I was a racist bigot on the verge of also becoming an incel thinking that I'm single because women are bad (when I was 20 years old). But today I condemn basically everything I was standing for 10 years ago. People do stupid mistakes, learn from those mistakes and become better over time. Some people will never change (it reminds me of a famous politician but I won't go there because it's not a political channel lol) but most people make life mistakes and learn from them.
Im so looking forward to them harmonizing a lot!!!! I really dig it!! Im currently checking out Dead Sara, which is the band she's the lead vocalist of.
If their music brings a smile to your face, then you know what LP tried to instill from day one. Through all the recent noise and disruption, the entity of LP and what Emily has added to the group to recognize and pay tribute to Chester and Linkin Park has been nothing but music to my ears because the band has found a new voice to give reason to honor and continue their legacy for their fan base.
Self betrayal in a quest for acceptance.. is a fools paradise. When the soul is sacrificed as the cost of admission, the only way to win is to lose. Each of their perspectives reinforces this message from completely different angles in their personal lives. The music is passionate because each of them connect to the lyrics so personally and deeply.
It is not only the new song or new album. If you watch/listen the live concert, I really like how she delivers the old songs. With the same energy as Chester, while still being herself.
Emily has massive shoes to fill. So far she is amazing. We shouldn’t expect to replace Chester, but only to compliment his legacy he left behind. Plus in the From Zero concert when Emily was first introduced Mike Shinoda’s smile was priceless. I was happy to see Mike so happy. He fell into a very dark place after Chester’s passing and now seems to be in a good place. Also sad to see that drummer Rob Bourdon didn’t return. Keep being awesome!!!
so i will not lie this song has helped me in a way to come to grips that chester is no longer with us and this song does make me emotional. Emily is killing it and very happy with the choice by the band.
Really sad that a lot of people digging into her past that is like AGES ago (10+ yrs) and act like they never did something wrong, just to find stuff to elevate Chester even more... I mean he is no more, it is still damn tragic, what she did was wrong in the past, but EVERYONE did something wrong in the past, they should give her a chance. They do not realize that without her, the band had not the courage to start again. It is not just Chester, there are still other parts of this band that just wanna make what they love, that wanna make their fans happy and it is also a way to honor Chester. So much negativity, i hate it... For me it is totally positive, i am in love with the new song, i like to see Mike smile again and having fun on the stage. They deserve it! Nice reaction and do not fall into that spiral of negativity, they are just sad individuals that got nothing going on in their life, so they fall into this trap, so that news and ppl can profit from it!
Are you kidding me? The Danny Masterson thing is from 2020! The timeline is super screwed up. They admitted during the Zane Lowe interview that they (LP w/ Emily) were making music in 2019. Masterson happened in 2020... and then right around that time, Rob decides to step away from the band? Then, we get duped because they said Brad had someone filling in with the implication that it was just for that one show, which would have been insanely weird... then we learn... Brad is no longer doing any live music and he will just be there to help them make the music... which is a disservice to Brad, because Brad actually plays insanely more powerfully than LP music, he was just being a mature artist and knew what was best for the band. This stuff isn't adding up at all. We need a serious explanation. Chester's son, Jaime, is also pointing fingers. Mike was losing his mind during this timeframe with respect to NFTs telling everything that they were stupid and didn't get it.
@@xdami4nx No, the response sucked. Maybe she is honest. Maybe she is genuine. She is certainly talented. But if this stuff isn't cleared up satisfactorily for fans, it is game over. I am sure that there are words that could explain it, as long as they're true, that could mean she remains in this role. We'll see. Too many things connected to this all. And I am not saying some grand conspiracy... I am just saying some desire to get back out there or some desire to make some money (not even insane greedy levels).

Yeah she is really great fit. I usually never like new vocalists in established bands, no matter the circumstances, but this somehow works so well for me. Surprisingly hyped about the upcoming album.
I saw them live last week. She is so good and fits the band's sound so well. There's some controversy surrounding her, but Mike Shinoda is giving her a second chance, and she's crushing it so far. I am very excited for the full album and to get some more Linkin Park into the world.
I love your comment about it being the same book but just another chapter. Emily is a great fit for the band. her attitude and emotions into the music.
Thank you for help giving the validation they needed one of my favorite reactions to watch yes chester will always be dearly missed but they are ready for the new era and I really look forward to it
@Rayactions Im from Germany and i love your reactions. Please go so in with your videos and reactions you so a really great Job.❤
If you don't like the new singer (and drummer btw), just listen to their old stuff. It's not like the old albums are vanishing, just listen to them instead of bashing this new era of LP. Personally, I like this song and am excited for what is to come in the next few months with the full album release.
Exactly. If I want the full nostalgia experience I'll dust off my Meteora CD and set up the mini hi-fi system. I too am excited to hear what they come up with
Omg absolutely love this song so happy Linkin Park is back with new song with new lead singer she fits the group perfectly so happy for Mike and rest of the group definitely moving forward to continue to listen to Linkin Park I know Chester is happy and proud.
The lyrics give me mad Hybrid Theory / Meteora vibes With talks of abuse and being someone your not for that person. And then the music sounds like it could have been from Living Things or Hunting Party. This is new yet the same Linkin Park we all fell in love with.
Next Chapter! That's the best term to describe LP now. There's no substitution or comparison, Chester is magnificent and wrote such a beautiful story for an entire generation. Amily is a "fresh air" , a step forward to write a new chapter in LP legacy and she is just getting better and better alongside Shinoda. To be honest, yes I was happy for Emily potential and her own personality. HOWEVER, during the Live stream at sep. 15, I noticed from the very start of the show until the very last moment among the fans... Bro, Mike was so happy again, so intense, enjoying and smilling that moment. He is such a great artist and producer and for me, notice happyness into his soul again is so cool! My point is, Mike (and the other guys) are back, inspired and ready for work again. Emily, all LP fans pray for you to find your best version of yourself i n order other to write you story.
How much Mike contributes to the vocals has always varied from album to album with Linkin Park. He started singing and doing different vocals with Minutes to Midnight through One More Light. He also has his own solo projects and albums with Fort Minor or under his own name. He is a very talented musician, artist, and producer. He is the one who really puts the polish on their music. Every member brings their own unique strengths and talents to Linkin Park. That is what makes this band so special.
Worth mentioning they’ve been working with her since 2019, and she’s been officially in the band since 2023, so the sudden thing? For the fans yeah, but the band knew.
Linkin Park has been with me through my teenage depression and all and fking saved me ...They were always a hybrid ;) of styles ...This is the new one and i love it.Cut Emily some slack dudes.
As a vocalist she's a great choice to fill in for Chester. Emily has a similar singing and screaming style, no doubt inspired by Chester, and she just has a great voice for this style of music (solid range, good power, great grit). I also think it was super smart of Linkin Park to go with a female vocalist as it might help keep some of the comparisons in check, and it will really help to differentiate this new era of the band. If you haven't already, you should check out the hour long livestream they did where they perform a bunch of their old hits with Emily. Also, this new song absolutely sounds like a Linkin Park song in all the ways that matter. It's awesome and is catchy as hell. It's been stuck in my head since I heard it the first time. Can't wait to hear the rest of their new stuff.
I don't care about celebrities too much, but when we lost Chester, it hurt. I remember reading about his death, my first thought was it wasn't real, then I realized I would never hear him sing another new song. That hurt the most. Their style after Minutes to Midnight was hit or miss, mostly miss for me, but it didn't matter. Linkin Park gave us Hybrid Theory and Meteora in less than 3 years. I was a Junior in High School when Meteora released, it hit mainstream success my Senior year and Meteora released my freshman year of college. They were my band as I entered adulthood, so yeah, they were a big part of my life. I could hear Chester in her voice, and as a 40 year old man, I cried. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone else, but I think this was the right move for the band.
Study the video closer, all the band members are in it playing normal day jobs, Phoenix without his baseball hat, Britton the new drummer, MrHahn, Emily the maid vacuuming. What a great thing LP is back, and back with a exciting, dynamic new singer. Song has a great meaning, they were empty for 7 years and now the machine is back. Can you imagine how she felt inside like WOW, i'm singing for one of the best bands in the world. Emily is a great fit for a their style.
Love love LOVE the song and as a lifelong LP fan, Emily is the way forward for them. Even if this were to be their last album as a band, to conclude their bands journey ion their own terms, I think this is going to be a beautiful thing. No one can or will ever replace Chester, but thats not what they are doing here. They are moving forward to a definitive unknown with the hearts full of art again. And I think that is beautiful.
Been a big LP fan for a long long time and I couldn't imagine the band even existing without Chester. But I absolutely love this. I don't know if it was intentionally a female vocalist to try and avoid comparisons but I really like the sound.
I think she's a great fit. This video dropped at the same time they streamed their first concert as the new lineup. I see some people are saying they just moved on. 7 years? 7 years....moved on? Seriously...no they healed. I'm glad you understand they have healed enough to take that step. I hope Emily sticks with them.
Everyone should watch the interviews with Mike Shinoda. He is happy, he is excited, and once him and the band had Emily start singing with them, he said it just felt like LP and they knew they had to keep the name. He's all about it and that's all I need to be all in as a huge LP fan. Not to mention Emily is phenominal. I'm here for it.
One of my biggest regrets was the fact that i got into Linkin Park after they lost Chester. I was really sad that i wouldn't be able to feel the excitement a new song release ever again. I was dying out of excitement when i heard they're coming back. The comeback was something that we all needed the most. They didn't try to replace Chester cause no one can, but at the same time they chose someone who sound just like Linkin Park, She really sounds great. Im so excited to hear the new album
A Emily amstrongg ela é vocalista da band " DEADSARAH" ate que ela foi bem no linkin park gostei que ela não força imitação de chester , ela é ela mesmo .
I don’t know if you read the comments but I just gotta shoutout the community you have here. I’ve checked out a few of your reactions but not really gone into the comments section, was worried here because of the magnitude of this music, but it’s probably the most respectful comments I’ve seen. Keep crushing it, you’re awesome.
I think there was a lot of noticeable nervousness in the first half of the show, but I think she finished really strong and even got very emotional towards the end. You can tell she respects the legacy and recognizes the fandom’s devotion to Chester. I’d say let her cook for a bit, I like her voice a lot. She doesn’t have that endless well of pain that Chester had and you could feel in every vocal, but maybe that’s a good thing. People just need to give it time and hopefully she’s not as connected to the weird Scientology stuff as people are saying. I wish them the best though.
These lyrics focus on the band's journey, their music, and the critics who want them to fail, highlighting their determination to push forward into the future. Rest in peace, Chester. No one can replace you, but Emily will carry forward your legacy in her own style, blending the old with the new.
love how every reaction is so positive and has proper arguments, the comments everywhere else ooooh boi. there are really weird takes out there like "they should have stopped", "they should have renamed the band" etc. if people dont like it okay but please dont come with such weird arguments personally I was obsessed with LP in the mid 2000s, now I'm 31 and even with the nostalgia and everything, I just think this is a good step they took and I really like her as a vocalist for the band. I followed the live stream of the concert, yeah she did have some voice cracks but cmon she was probably really nervous, die hard fans were there + watching, she probably was terrified to do that. voice cracks can happen in any live event, everybody can make mistakes. Mike and her singing the song in the stream at the same time harmonized soooo well Sure I disliked LP back in the day for going softer but I was a dumb teenager back then and just wanted to listen to the hard ass band, they always changed and now they are doing something different again but still sound like themselves and now Im excited about the upcoming music :)
You should react to the individual songs on the concert footage they just released. She did a great job and availed herself very well on Numb, Faint, and many other songs.
“The hardest part of ending is starting again.”
-Waiting For The End, Linkin Park
Visuals definitely reminded me of that song
The point of that track was that there's just one end and that's it. This is why I hate the Chester replacement because it's such a sick stomp on the songs on the old songs and their meaning. Wouldn't be replacement if they just focused on playing new songs.
@@hellaslayin7175 if they just play only new songs, they will have a VERY SHORT concert. Do YOU want to pay $100+ for a half hour set?
the moment when Emily start crying...she feels that moment a lot, perhaps to remember Chester as she has always been a fan
@@hellaslayin7175 It's not a replacement. Cope
In the livestream after Mike introduced everyone he said “…and in the role of Chester Bennington, all of you.”
It was his way of emphasizing Chester wasn’t replaced, Emily’s role was just created in addition to it
When he said that I broke down.... Chester does live on in all of us. Now let us embrace Emily and enjoy this new chapter of Linkin Park. I'm here for it!
The new drummer, nobody of is speaking of.
Why is that?
Bc its a man?
She is not only good, to me, she is awesome.
I am 60 years old, I have always listened to Linkink Park
I was moved by the suicide of the vocalist and I don't know why when I listen to the new vocalist in this song I have tears in my eyes
The girl is doing fine, she is great and is a new beginning, a new era for Linkink Park
I think that she cannot be compared to the tragically deceased vocalist, but rather should be viewed through the prism of new creativity
After listening to this song, I am equally in love with the "old" and "new" Linkin Park, although still the same
May they delight my senses for a long time
Good luck Emily!
Chester’s wife loves the new sound. I’m happy for the band that they’re happy. I can’t wait to see what they do together!
I swear to God, people learnt absolutely nothing from Chester, and this is the most depressing thing i've
seen in a long while. In the past 7 years i had hopes that such tragic event would open peoples eyes,
and they would be more mindful with what they are saying, and that they would do everything they can for the same tragedies to not happen. I will forever remember Chester's last speech in Birmingham:
".until all this nonsense stops, and we can start loving each other, we can stop hurting each other, because we believe in something different than the person standing next to us. The one thing that can't be defeated is love. You can conquer hate by ignoring
it, you can destroy it by loving the person next to you..." "...We don't care what you look like, we don't care where you come from, we don't care what you believe in - we love every single one of you out there, and nothing will ever change that"
Please, just slow down you all. Think about what you are doing, and what you are saying about Emily and Linkin Park 🥲
The same “fans” who bullied Chester just because they didn’t like the style of his last album are the same ones bullying her. I guarantee it.
1000% this
SPOT ON!! Take note "fans".
thank you for saying all that, it's important to people spread some love and sense when people are so on hate

i get its hard for people who are attached to chester we all are Emily isn't replacing chester. he will never be replaced its a new chapter and i at least am so grateful she is carrying on the legacy of linkin park and i truly believe chester is looking down and smiling upon emily cause she has been just fantastic
you would think with how we lost chester that if these are truly linkin park fans or chester fans that they would not be just spewing some of the toxic stuff i've seen and heard
i pray its not real linkin park fans or chester fans but just trolls and haters
I am already in love. Her voice has so much power.
I heared 2 brandnew LP song's from her voice and after them i would say, she deserves to be there.
Let's support her.
No one will ever replace Chester. And no man can fit his Shoes. Emily has a great voice. Linkin park deserves to go on. She will find her own shoes for the journey
Well said and agreed !
Agreed
Chester was the angst of youth. Emily is the fury of adulthood.
Perfect evaluation
I think Chester would have loved to duet with her. They gave Chester all the flowers respect and mourning anyone could. I think Chester would approve.
I personally haven't even seen any hate everyone is just saying what you just said
I don't think Chester would care about anything in his final months he didn't want to live bro 😢
I so love this song and new singer. Learned most ppl hate everything
@@tylerisse5120 yeah but there was a time before that
You can't judge his mentality based on his final moments
NOT MY COMMENT but I loved this from someone on UA-cam:
Chester sang with pain, Emily sings with fury!
..i loved her Fury since the first time i heard this song.. look at the reaction of the guys when She starts singing.. 😲
@@tommasofleres2122 yeah it's awesome
@@davidjames6036 I recommend Q-Tips. This girl has some pipes.
The hybrid theory album was rage if you haven’t noticed by now 😅and the meteora album was emotion
New era of Linkin Park, letsss gooo! Absolutely stoked for future shows and reactions! Cheers to a new beginning
Linkin Park will never return without Emily Armstrong. Finally, they found the right person to fill their emptiness.
Lol no need to disrespect chester like that lil bro 😂😂....linkin had a severe downgrade in vocalist but it is what is.......linkin has been a pop rock band for like over a decade now anyways so she is a good fit for that type of sound 😂😂

It's crazy how large the number of people seem to criticize LP and Emily. But the music video for "the emptiness machine" doesn't even have 2% dislikes. And almost a million people voted. I mean, that's a statement from the fans.
That's because haters are always louder and feel more relevant.
Hear hear!
Spot on, dude!
Love the song, love Emily, love the lineup. It's gonna be a killer new era.
Um, They should have found somebody they knew was almost as good as Chester they downgraded BIG TIME.

I cried listening to this song for the first time. It's bittersweet for sure.
As a musician it pisses me off so bad. Here they are finally having the strength to start again and their so called "fans" are shitting all over them.
Ok if someone dosen't like it they don't like they'll still be Linkin park fans but not any new stuff so putting quotes on fans makes you look like a dumbass

I just watched the live performances. I'm very impressed with her. Her vocals are awesome. I'm happy the band is back.
Loving this new era of LP what a banger of a track with Emily

I love the sound. This is so good. And emily has guts to steo into that spot
It is a miracle that LP is back
so i will not lie this song has helped me in a way to come to grips that chester is no longer with us and this song does make me emotional.
Nice reaction and do not fall into that spiral of negativity, they are just sad individuals that got nothing going on in their life, so they fall into this trap, so that news and ppl can profit from it!
she already responded to the criticism and the response should shut them up.
She's an awesome singer and I'm looking forward to LP's next chapter.
Doesn't matter, next week there's going to be a different drama and people are gonna move on.

I was going through her deadsara bands catalog. I see why they hired her. She's brilliant
2:18 - Two, new singer new drummer.
You're very articulate in your comments. Thanks for sharing! ❤
Thank you for help giving the validation they needed one of my favorite reactions to watch yes chester will always be dearly missed but they are ready for the new era and I really look forward to it
@Rayactions Im from Germany and i love your reactions. Linkin Park is my absolute favorit band of all time and helps me throu many hard times.....in this Video i think....i think you nailed it Emily is the perfect fit for the band but its always a new chapter.
Please go so in with your videos and reactions you so a really great Job.❤
She absolutely smashed it, i couldnt be happier for her or the band. LP are back and im here for it.
I too am excited to hear what they come up with
This new era is going to be awsome for sure. A Linkin Park fan from France ;)
Omg absolutely love this song so happy Linkin Park is back with new song with new lead singer she fits the group perfectly so happy for Mike and rest of the group definitely moving forward to continue to listen to Linkin Park I know Chester is happy and proud.
Linkin Park. Same Mission, new Crew.
A reaction with a lot of wisdom. I love it.
I can't explain how happy I am to hear that Linkin Park is back. Emily is perfect.
Worth mentioning they’ve been working with her since 2019, and she’s been officially in the band since 2023, so the sudden thing? For the fans yeah, but the band knew.
Emily is amazing! I really like her voice.
I'm Excited for this New Era getting a Female Singer is the Best Choice LP went with i can't wait for The New Album and Emily sounds Amazing
She fits so well no doubt❤
You probably hear it a lot, your hair looks SO darn cool! Also I agree with how you feel for the music ❤🔥
the vocal layering and the harmonizing are like mike saying we got your back.
Linkin Park has been with me through my teenage depression and all and fking saved me ...They were always a hybrid ;) of styles ...This is the new one and i love it.Cut Emily some slack dudes.
I really enjoy her voice, it fits very well into the Linkin Park sound
I think they nailed it,cant wait to hear the album, also ,check out the live concert from the 5th,she sang "Lost" it was beautifil
I totally agree with every word that you said
Love love LOVE the song and as a lifelong LP fan, Emily is the way forward for them.
She rocked it❤❤.. Amazing song
I'm here for it.
your hair color is awesome! love it!
All of us will be Chester everyday with this band, but Emily is a crazy-insane +1 add for them! And I loved it
One of my biggest regrets was the fact that i got into Linkin Park after they lost Chester.
She is amazing!! hope the best for her and Colin the new drummer
Amen, my friend. Everything you said rings tried and true! ❤
I agreed, shes so good, and this song giving me goosebumps
You should really react to the live performance where she sings the old songs. It’s AWESOME!
Lol stop.......her voice fits the newer pop rock era of linkin......her covers of hybrid and meteora sounded cringe and weak af lil bro😂😂
@@davidjames6036 I don’t think so. There’s a lot positive feedback and tickets sold out, so…
wrong it was mostly really good. @@davidjames6036
Just a great addition.
It just fits.
Love it.
love how every reaction is so positive and has proper arguments, the comments everywhere else ooooh boi.
there are really weird takes out there like "they should have stopped", "they should have renamed the band" etc.
if people dont like it okay but please dont come with such weird arguments
personally I was obsessed with LP in the mid 2000s, now I'm 31 and even with the nostalgia and everything, I just think this is a good step they took and I really like her as a vocalist for the band.
I followed the live stream of the concert, yeah she did have some voice cracks but cmon she was probably really nervous, die hard fans were there + watching, she probably was terrified to do that. voice cracks can happen in any live event, everybody can make mistakes.
Mike and her singing the song in the stream at the same time harmonized soooo well
Sure I disliked LP back in the day for going softer but I was a dumb teenager back then and just wanted to listen to the hard ass band, they always changed and now they are doing something different again but still sound like themselves and now Im excited about the upcoming music :)
You should react to the individual songs on the concert footage they just released. She did a great job and availed herself very well on Numb, Faint, and many other songs.
Emily is amazing, I can't wait for the new era ❤
Emily Armstrong rules... Link her to the Park family.
