I worked with Joey Gallo in the early 90's, either on the USNS Silas Bent, Wilkes or Wyman all USNS vessels. I was purser and he was chief cook, I believe! Nice to see you Joey Gallo!
This started off like one of those movies that starts in the present but 5 mins in, goes back in time into the main characters life and times. Wish this was longer...
Trying to become a Merchant Marine within the next few years! Legit wanna be this man in 30 years
Look into SIU
Did you ever get into the maritime industry? Where did you go?
You are not trying to live life deliberately, Sir...you most definitely are!
I enjoyed this mini doc, and send all my best to the gentleman profiled.
I'll be a merchant marine soon i'll give it all to lord to guide me to the way in the sea 🙏🏼
How did you get in? where did you go?
You strike me as someone I would enjoy having a glass of whiskey with. Cheers.
i start this july cant wait man
I'm going to join with the SIU program this year. At least I officially made up my mind to get ready to apply. I'm going to apply in 2 to 3 months. I gotta to get some things personal affairs in order first. Then I'm going to apply.
I either want to start school by the end of the year or the next year. I think it's doable in that timeframe. I got to get all my shit in order. There's a new peaceful life to be had . . .
how did it go?
What happened?

Wooten was telling me about this quite a while ago, can't believe you're still out there
When I was a kid. Me and my brother had 2 plastic toy boats. We went down to the park in California and would float them down the water at the park. I have this memory stuck in my head. Ive read Lord Jim countless times. I want to do this
You're one of those hired on during the Gulf War.

True are totally correct my friend...
Will i be able to be Merchant Marine at age 34 with not the best Credit Score
@Let’s be Frank Booth I like the co ol thing about be ing seaman, is the Merchant Seaman pay is protected by the jones act, federal/merchant seaman pay can't be taken from bank to pay Creditor. I really like how they set that up, not sure if there is a limit to how much a seaman can have or not though
@Let’s be Frank Booth I think working 6-7 months at sea and long vacation lol will get sanity b ack up
@Let’s be Frank Booth I read that creditors do freeze but they do not take out the funds until they verify what it is. I heard that we have to hire a lawyer to let the creditors know that seaman wages are protected by Federal, I was reading about the Jones act . I was very surprised that Merchant Seaman wages are protected from Wage garnishment and funds in the bank, thats amazing.
