Hey Jana, I'm here from Grandma Teresa Gilmore's channel. I like your style. It's better to try and learn than not try at all. I've used spring roll wrappers several times and learned from my vegan daughter. I put fresh spinach, carrots, peanut sauce, and something else in them. I rolled them up and ate them, not fried them. I hope this coming winter weather will not be too bad for you.
Welcome in! I love Grandma Teresa's channel. She's a really nice person❤️Hopefully our bad winter weather is over for the year. Our high here today is 50, and the sun is out, so it's a beautiful afternoon.
@@SilverHairHomemaker Thank you for the welcome. Our high here in West Tennessee should be around 53. I keep hearing about more snow this year, but I doubt it. Have a great day, Jana.
I appreciate your willingness to go forward!!!! This is how we learn!!! By the way my dad says EVERYTHING taste better in a tortilla!!!😅 love your channel!!!
Exactly! Making mistakes is the BEST way to learn! And I think your dad may be right. I haven't found anything yet that tastes bad in a tortilla😂Thank you!❤
Oh Jana. This happens to me if I can do anything it’s mess up something. Spring rolls are good too. Great video. 😊❤I absolutely love blueberries. Can I have two. 😂😂
I saw someone else tell you to fry the spring roll wrappers dry, definitely do this! You can put those popcorn toppers on them after they’re fried and whooooeeeee they are good! Or, sprinkle some dry ranch powder on them! Like fancy tater chips!
@auntrowdy Oooooo, I may have to try this! I have dry ranch seasoning, but I also have 3 or 4 different popcorn seasonings. Now I'm thinking maybe cinnamon sugar ones🤔❤️
I used to cook for my American legion and one of their number request of mine was fried candy bars wrapped in an egg roll wrapper. Give it a try sometimes. It's bad for ya but it's so good😂
You did a great job! I’ve never dried off my spring roll wrappers and find (that for me) keeping them slippery is easier for me to execute. I use a pie plate with hot water and use plastic wrap to help me roll it up. Hey, ending up with mini cheesecake chimichangas isn’t a “fail”. 😊 Lessons learned. Oh, if you want a fun snack the DRY rice paper puffs up when you fry it. It has a texture similar to pork rinds or those twisty cinnamon things at TacoBell. If you season it right out of the oil it sticks pretty well. 🎉
I bet wonton wrappers would be good. How as your weather? A few years ago when that artic blast came through north MS, my husband was in Warrior AL and they didn't get anything! He wanted to come home and I was begging him to stay there. I didn't want him driving in it. Hard head came home anyway. Stay warm!!!!
@Nesie1965 oh my, I've never used wonton wrappers either🤣Our weather right now is good. Our high today is supposed to be around 50 degrees. We didn't get any snow or ice this last time, just the bitter cold.
Those bites look very tasty. I say it's a win! 🤔but the springroll filling might be to wet to crisp up while frying. Yep trying makes new information and insights. Have a great day!
Yeah the eggroll and wonton wrappers are always cooled. In the veggie section. Also for the amount of filling you put in the spring roll you can double it. Spring rolls are made with a smaller, drier filling. They are good. Don't trash them just google some videos.
If you use springroll paper, do the soaking, dry them with a towel. Move on to baking paper. Lay the filling like a horizontal regtangle in the middle. Just like you did folt the right side paper in over the filling and the left side over aswell. Than flip the bottem bit over the filling. It's supposed to be a regtangle now. And than roll it up carefully but tight to the top. Seal the ends with water and you can fry or steam them.

I loved every bit of this! Kudos for soldiering on. I would have given up!
I'm too hard headed to give up🤣
I am so excited to find your channel. I am a widow so I am a house of one. So your videos saying cooking for one really caught my eye.
I'm so glad they caught your eye. I hope my channel can be of some use for you. Thank you for watching❤️

It was definitely a face palm moment for me🤣
Oh my goodness, you gave me such a giggle. At my age my kitchen goofs are many. Can’t wait to see the egg roll ones.
@janetdonahue7786 I'm going to have to eventually make them because I really think they would be good❤️You know, if I did them right😂
It takes skill to do the epic save you did on those blueberry rollups! Great video!
Thank you!❤️
Gotta love it! Good job failing! And thanks for sharing! This was awesome!
Thank you! Maybe I'll have better luck next time, if I buy the right thing🤣

Lay them on bakingpaper afther soaking them. Still dry them with a kitchen towel but they won't stick to backing paper while filling👍
Thank you for this❤️
Loved it!!
Thank you Teresa!❤️
You did a lot better than me with the spring roll wrappers. Mine were horrible.
Oh no! This one was so bad🤣Maybe we can both try again one day❤️
@ I think I’ll leave it to others. I’ll use tortilla wrappers, thanks. Taste better anyway
Enjoyed your video. They look delicious 😋❤
The ones with the tortillas were❤️
Those bites look yummy. My one-time try with spring rolls ended in a stuck together mess.😂😂
I completely understand😂
Good Morning! as long as you can still eat thats all that matters, i have days like that when things turn out wrong but great job
Thank you Teresa! Thay stuff was a mess in those spring roll wrappers🤣

Oh myyy! That sounds delicious❤️
There's equal fails and success in my kitchen. It happens. Thanks for sharing yours.
You're welcome! I could have just ditched the video, but I feel it's important to show the mess ups also☺️

Thank you so much for the tips! The rice paper puffs sound very interesting🤔
@ we use kitchen scissors to cut the dry rice paper into strips usually but it’s fun to see the whole circle expand too LOL
