- Jenny Hia once made headlines for refusing to wear the hijab in school despite being Christian. And increasingly, non-Muslims like her in parts of Indonesia and Malaysia have to live with Syariah-inspired restrictions they deem prohibitive.

My best friend is a Muslim living in Malaysia but she wants to convert her religion and want to marry her Christian boyfriend but her country is not allowing her to change her religion that's so sad i mean there people can't even get marry to their lovee ones in these muslims countries
Very true, almost all muslim majority countries(oic) criminalise apostasy while forces other religious minorities to convert to marry a muslim. Government sponsored islamic institutions strictly regulates this and sends atheist & gays to 'religious correction centers' until they conform to islamic policies. Its really inhumane and does not get enough media coverage
this. You are not allowed to leave Islam. It's a cult that wouldn't exist anymore if it had allowed its followers to choose their religion.

BTW most people who convert to islam in the West, click out of it soon afterwards. People get duped into it because they fall in love with someone or need friends, but then they realize that this religion is all about haram haram haram or jihad jihad jihad. And very hostile to women. And then they leave it. Or when the relationship ends. It's not because they are convinced of Allah and MoMo. There are many Ex Muslims who converted to it and share their experiences online ;)
@@pikapi6993false. You are freely change your religion in Indonesia. My aunt did that for the same scrnario (to marry a christian man). I can't say about Malaysia as I am not aware of how it is over there.
This is a warning to all secular countries. If you allow them the freedom to practise their islamic faith, it will not be reciprocated when they have expanded and are in the majority. The same freedom that you extended to them you will not get back. Same with halal establishments. You give up your inclusive space to let them halal-lise the premise which then becomes exclusive. Think long and hard before extending freedom to them to practise their faith, it is tantamount to you giving up your inclusivity and freedom.
Is the old saying goes they demand people to be tolerant of their religion tolerant of the way they're going to live their lives yet when they're no longer a minority but a majority then they're going to demand Everybody follow their religion or wind up wishing they had unfortunately there's people who will read something like this and say that's hate talk. if France can force muslims to take off their hijab, then why can't Indonesia force non-muslims to wear hijab? same thing innit???
you let Islam became majority. They will take your freedom in the future.
@@az-fy3mp Take off during work and while workin in government. They can wear it any other time of the day. I personally dont mind if someone wants to wear hijab at work and hope they are allowed to do that. But the main reason strict secular countries dont allow religious attire at work (especially government) is cuz they wanna stay secular. I dont dislike Islam or other religions. But plz dont pretend there isnt a conflict in France that could get nasty in the future. The beheaded teacher is a perfect example how barbaric religious conflicts can become. Regardless of the reasons, europeans have long move away from beheading ppl. It speaks miles when this is the answer to disagreemts. And it scares ppl. So instead of turning blind eye, please help address it. I know there is racism in France against innocent muslims too. Which is not ok. But i wont pretend as if all religious extremists are innocent. Indonesia whips gay ppl in some parts cuz of religion. France doesnt. Meaning indonesia is already treating non-believers worse + as subhumans by whippin them. And it's barbaric lefotver from abrahamic religions that found its way into the legal principles of the constitution. This is why it is important to protect the secular spaces and principles as good as possible from ALL religions. Nice day
Absolutely important issue to address. They want recognition and respect for their traditions when they are in minority but not willing to provide it to others when they are in power. The same situation in other Asian and African countries
All of this stems from this 👇🏼
Fight those who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day, nor comply with what Allah and His Messenger have forbidden, nor embrace the religion of truth from among those who were given the Scripture(Jews and Christians), until they pay the tax, willingly submitting, fully humbled.

Most Indonesian public schools are essentially secular-in-name-only. In reality, they are nothing more than Islamic schools but with the Islamic part being very watered down. I’m from Indonesia and specifically from a province with tendencies to adopt sharia-inspired bylaws and I’m thankful for CNA for this report. Most Indonesians are quick to say that these things only happen in Aceh as the only sharia-ruled province out of the 38 provinces that we have, but we often overlook the fact that there are other provinces that are quietly creating local bylaws that are inspired by religious laws. The public schools that made wearing the hijab an obligation is located in the province of West Sumatra, not Aceh.
Just because in your city/province you have a good relationship between religions, your children can choose to wear hijab or not at public schools, people who are not fasting can freely eat and drink during Ramadan, non-Muslims can build their places of worship etc it doesn’t meant the same things can also happen in some cities/provinces with sharia-based bylaws. We need to have this conversation before it’s too late.
Shariah law is only for Aceh. For West Sumatra majority are moslems
Blame your own governor and your own provincial govt. Stop blaming the entire country just because some provinces were dominated by muslim conservatives.

In Malaysia, after the isolated and minor May 13,1969 race riots between the Muslim Malays and Chinese voters in Kuala Lumpur where the majority Muslim-Malay population (UMNO party) lost the votes to the Malaysian Chinese (Democratic Action Party (DAP), the government took a drastic stand to pull the poorer Malays out of poverty. It did this by announcing the 1969 New Economic Policy (NEP) which was a massive affirmative action national program in every sector exclusively for the Malays. It was supposed to last only 30 years but even after 55 years, this policy still exists now with much resentment by the non-Muslims ! The program became skewed, hugely racist, corrupted and manipulated by elite ruling Malay politicians and their leaders especially by the notorious, 22-year massive corrupt rule of ex-PM Mahathir Mohamed who all fabulously enriched their families. During this time, Mahathir also cultivated pro-Islamic, anti-Semitic, anti-non Muslim policies which turned Malaysia from an English-speaking, top-level nation in education within Asia to a huge class of Malaysians with a poor standard of English and falling school standards. He also led the proliferation of Islamic schools called 'madrasah' and colleges which further eroded the racial unity in Malaysia. Malaysia's ringgit currency was once the pride of Asia (parity of 1:1 to the Singapore $) in 1965 but now has sunk to an unfathomable RM3.5 : 1 Sing $. The damage has been done and this has led to the brain drain in the country of so many wealthy and educated non-Muslim Malaysians emigrating !
That is why Singapore exist.

The fall of the current Malaysia's ringgit currency vis a vis the Singapore dollar is not the fault of Mahathir, but due to the multiple mismanagement by the current PM Anwar Ibrahim's regime.

quran chapter 9 Verse 5
This is Islam teaching 😂🤣
@Hmm19872
Quran chapter 8 verse 12 - this chapter explains that Meccan People who are disbeliever of Allah went goes to war and fight against the other Meccan people who are believers of Allah and follow the Prophet Muhammad s.a.w. Why disbelievers attack the believers? Because they rejects Muhammad s.a.w worships to the Only true God which is Allah.
Quran 9 verse 12 - this chapter is the most misinterpreted verse from Islamaphobic, always used by the media people who are just quoting the verse like you (not reading the full context). The verse of the Sword, you have to understand in the context of the 9th Hijrah after the conquest of Mecca Paganism (Musyrik) is being eliminated.
Quran Chapter 9 verse 12
Allah says when is the sacred Months finish? Some scholar says it is the sacred months are the famous months of hijr calendar. Allah called the four months in the verse 2. These 4 months are the sacred months, who cannot fight or go to war on for this particular year.
Basically when 4 sacred months are finish, then what? Then you have open licence, you can fight or eliminate them, or take prisoners whatever you like that it needs to be done.
No, this verse was revealed for the haram and the Arabian peninsula that is not going to be paganism, idol worship in the scared anymore. You cannot worship in the lands of Haram (Mecca). They were given four months, you have 2 options - get rid of an paganism (disbeliever) if you accept Islam, allowing to pray or zakat then you allow them to be what they want to be.
Meaning you have 4 months, you can either pack your bag and get out or FACE WAR.
And that is because it is not allowed in our Islamic sharia law for idolatry to be practiced in Arabian Peninsula which is in Mecca just like in Malaysia, Middle East or Islamic dominant country
@@Hmm19872 Could you explain it? You dared to refer to the Quran but refused to describe it. Are you the type "oh, go and read it yourself"🤣🤣😂😂

It's just 2 provinces (Aceh and West Sumatera) out of 38 provinces in Indonesia. but it's still wrong nevertheless. Aceh is special case because implementing sharia laws was part of MoU for ending conflicts between Aceh's separatist movement vs Indonesia. Looking at the history of Aceh, it was the last region that was fallen to the Dutch indies colonials, for only about 4 decades (1903-1945), but it had been under Indonesia for 65 years but they had to abandon their way of life like forever? so they decided to try to secede, but anything that can stop them from doing it was just a win-win solution for Indonesia.

I'm Canadian living in Australia and people tell me to visit Bali/Indonesia all the time and I'm like "No thanks... I won't visit Muslim countries"
Well said ❤❤
We dont care
Good decision, don't waste your money in I$lamic countries.😊
bali(hindu) is a good place !!
i(indian) will visit there to understand their culture and make some report only bali.
We Indonesian dont care.. 😂
Let it be a warning to all countries who are over whelmed with Islamic beliefs and practices
Both Indonesia and malaysia lost their souls when they relinquished their original faiths, culture and converted en mass. Indonesia is the strangest country in the world I have come across where their entire ancient and medieval UNESCO listed large monuments are either Hindu or Buddhist and most of their national symbols and names derived from Sanskrit language while calling themselves Islamic nations. Confused cultures and identities.
No we are diverse, our identity is not to be categorized by western standards
I really wonder and love to know the actual history of Indonesia and Malayasia from times before Islam and how they got converted enmass
It is her Constitutional rights not to wear hijab......
MALAY-sia: Racial discrimination is embodied within the social and economic policies of the Malaysian government, favouring the Malays and in principle, the natives of Sabah and Sarawak. The Malays obtain heavily subsidised education in local universities and make up the bulk of these universities, including in terms of employment. In fact, the resources of Sarawak have been exploited for decades, with the Malaysian government enriching governmental officials and their associates. The concept of Ketuanan Melayu or Malay supremacy is accepted by the Malay-majority political sphere.
While 179 countries have ratified the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination (ICERD), Malaysia is not one of them.
wow.. u do realise 90% private sector controlled by non-bumiputra right? 90% private sector jobs from low paying jobs until high paying jobs are controlled non bumiputra.. top 10 billionaires in Malaysia are non-bumiputra.. what does it tells u..? non bumiputea has a freedom to do business, to have families, to have education, to speak your own language, to have ur own school.. most importantly to get high paying jobs.. did u know that a bumiputra has almost zero chance to get high paying jobs in chinese firms..?
Stop acting like a victim.. u think u are a being discriminated? let tell u the truth what is real..
1) bumipitra no chance get employed in high paying jobs unless you are "mandarin speaking only" the only high paying jobs we can get are as government servants and GLC companies.. but at least GLC companies do employ non bumi in high paying jobs..
2) Discrimination on people wearing hijab, low paying foreign workers (majority are muslim), and bumiputra in non bumiputra firms
3) Since major big developers in Malaysia are controlled by non bumiputra. almost zero chance a bumiputra get invited to commercial land/shop lot for opening sale. although its open market but u need to get invited buy a commercial land/shop lots.. commercial land/lot/shop are way more valuable than housing..
4) non bumi has total controlled in financial market, and import export export.. it is almost imposible for a bumi to compete in export import market and the financial market..
5) did u know that a bumi have relatively lower chance to get any kind of business financing that the non bumi..?
6) and yes housing although bumi have 10% discount.. but a non bumi can easily get 10% rebate from developers u would essentially get 100% loan from the bank.. because developer rebate!!.. for a bumi u need to have cash money for deposits.. also since non bumi are way richer housing market in big cities are to expensive for a bumi to buy a house..
7) although NEP program may seem disciminitory but it actually benefit private sector (controlled by non bumi) the most.. if bumi standard of living increase it open up bigger market for non bumi busineses to sell its good and services.. making them billionaires, and in return open up high paying jobs for "mandarin speaking only", and left low paying jobs for bumis and foreign worker.. how do u think the owners of like ECO Shops and others become billionaire ?
I have lived in a few Muslim countries. And still lead the life I would as if I was back in Canada. Just don’t be an idiot and you can get along anywhere. So onto others as you wish to be treated.
How about France? Are you blind about how they banned Hijab for muslim women? How about India? see what they do about muslim in their country?
