just hearing you and tess talk about her book made me check out quickly. the discussion of form truly made me think about 'trends' on such, the 'norm' in 21st century novels, and i just wish there was more experimentation because novels (and books in general) are so flexible especially with the themes and use of voice. i wish more authors would utilize this power. great interview! (though i am 8 months late)

@freshlyreadbooks her video convinced me to read this. And this is sooooooo good!I read the Variables chapter with Gaspard de La NUit in the background and it elevated the scene for me. Tess Gunty would throw a sentence here and there and it would just twist your heart and I'd be like "wow".... I can't wait for her next book! Love you Tess!

I'm definitely going to read this. The book sounds great. Tess seems brilliant and wonderfully compassionate and the mentions of Joy Williams and Denis Johnson - who are two of my favorite authors of all time - as influences, had me sold. Great interview BTW, this is my first time watching this show and it won't be the last.

Ah this was brilliant. I finished the Rabbit Hutch last night, but I only listened to audiobook I didn't have a copy so I still need to see these illustrations. It was such a unique novel, so much inner thoughts and I'm glad I realised the power dynamic kind of theme! 😅 Great work! Loved this. Happy New Year 💕

Such a brilliant, thought provoking interview. Loved listening to it, especially as I just finished The Rabbit Hutch a couple of days ago, and absolutely loved it. Great questions, Jaylen 🤍
