Full lyrics: He almost walked into a wall Oh, man, she was a sight to see And at the party down the hall He said, "you are the highest apple in the tree" Out the window, in the harbor, he saw a little ship The moon was worn just slightly on the right And they slow danced so the needle wouldn't skip Until the room was filled with light And I remember you And I remember me The sunshine walking inside you And the man you could see in me So I remember me And I remember you So many beautiful days in a row now And the nights were perfect, too Hand in hand down a waterslide in Chattanooga They did not hide from love, you see A winter's plane flight to Aruba Where he threw a boombox into the sea One day, they were cutting flowers for something to do On the bank of the road 'neath the cotton woods And he turned to her to ask if she'd marry him When a runaway truck hit him where he stood So I remember you And I remember you And I remember you And I remember me And I remember me A blackhawk nailed to the sky And the tape hiss from the trees Everybody said she needed to move on That he was all but lost, so deep was his coma When he finally came to, the girl he loved was long gone She'd married a banker and gone to Oklahoma He bought a little land with the money from the settlement And even bought the truck that had hit him that day He touched the part where the metal was bent And if you were there, you wouldn't hear him say I remember her And I remember him I remember them I remember then I'm just remembering I'm just remembering Just remembering I'm just remembering
Keep coming back to this video. BC + DCB is a mighty combo. Thank you for posting, thanks David for the songs and thanks Bill for doing them justice with your amazing voice. Love to all.
it's been almost 6 months already, still feels a bit unreal. rest easy, david. thank you for covering the jews, bill. and thank you for uploading this gem, dylan.
I didn’t either. But I knew it would be special when he kicked off with Trains straight into Riding for the Feeling. I was always a casual Bill fan, but bought the ticket last minute cause I had a feeling he might do a tribute like this. Then, the whole show blew me away and I’ve been listening non stop
I've had the pleasure of seeing Bill live about 7-8 times. He's one of the best live. I saw Phil Elverum about 2 years ago and that show also blew my mind.
Can anyone imagine all the talented and ordinary people that Holocaust killed. Germany forever should live with should live for the worst sin ever committed. Bill I love your music and decency. The cover is just beautiful. RIP David Berman.
Snobby but I wish the bass had been a stand up hollow body. It's so loud here in an un-ideal space, better to let the instrument inspire you, right? But how can you when your body cannot hear it? Sometimes a woman is warned: don't let the dress wear you. Otherwise brilliant. Thank you Bill Callahan and everyone else. Namaste
Miss Berman so much. His music means so much me.
I hate it when people film a whole song at a show, but what a gift this recording is. Thank you.
Best person to do these songs.
Hits hard. Great song great rendition.
thank you for capturing this
I'm trying not to cry at work... months on, and on. this one still hurts like the day i heard the news
Why do i always choose to listen to this in a public place... always tears
Could be the best cover of anyone that I've heard in years.
The electric guitar here is beautiful, so reserved and powerful

I met David Berman in Glasgow. Best night of my life
Full lyrics:
He almost walked into a wall
Oh, man, she was a sight to see
And at the party down the hall
He said, "you are the highest apple in the tree"
Out the window, in the harbor, he saw a little ship
The moon was worn just slightly on the right
And they slow danced so the needle wouldn't skip
Until the room was filled with light
And I remember you
And I remember me
The sunshine walking inside you
And the man you could see in me
So I remember me
And I remember you
So many beautiful days in a row now
And the nights were perfect, too
Hand in hand down a waterslide in Chattanooga
They did not hide from love, you see
A winter's plane flight to Aruba
Where he threw a boombox into the sea
One day, they were cutting flowers for something to do
On the bank of the road 'neath the cotton woods
And he turned to her to ask if she'd marry him
When a runaway truck hit him where he stood
So I remember you
And I remember you
And I remember you
And I remember me
And I remember me
A blackhawk nailed to the sky
And the tape hiss from the trees
Everybody said she needed to move on
That he was all but lost, so deep was his coma
When he finally came to, the girl he loved was long gone
She'd married a banker and gone to Oklahoma
He bought a little land with the money from the settlement
And even bought the truck that had hit him that day
He touched the part where the metal was bent
And if you were there, you wouldn't hear him say
I remember her
And I remember him
I remember them
I remember then
I'm just remembering
I'm just remembering
Just remembering
I'm just remembering
Just wow. I haven't cried this hard in a long time.
You and me both.
Same here. Have been for 2 weeks honestly.

I was there! Truly amazing performance, but I was not expecting it to be the best show I’ve ever been to easily

Yea, his music has a truly special feel to it. Definitely going to see him again. Also I’m just getting into Silver Jews!
