How inspiring. Im 13 days post op lap radical nephrectomy. I was dreading this time but I feel 95%well, no pain. Love the expression 'pre hab' which I've never heard over here in scotland, but I went into my op as fit as possible and I'm certain this is paying off now. To any future patients, good luck and positive thoughts. Sue

I had my surgery on the 21 July, a nephrectomy partial, I still have pain but it s a normal part of recovery I think. My tumor was taken in time, just 3 cm. I am waiting for the results of the analyses. I walked everyday 2 hours , I need to change my diet. I just turn 55 years old. @@ceasergert2780

I had my left Radical nephrectomy on sep 9th. I had a very large tumor 13.7 by 11 by 10cm. My surgery went very well and thank God my tumor was confined to the kidney. My pathology confirmed it. My mri and cat scan confirmed no metastases. I was having left flank pain for years with high blood pressure and I new something was wrong but I didn't insist to the doctors to due some imaging. My advice is if you feel flank or back pain and it dosent go away insist on an MRI or CAT SCAN. If you catch the tumor early your chances are much better. Get tested!! Err on the side of caution.

Wow, I was exactly the same but tumour was 10cm. Blood pressure and left flank pain for years. No indication it left the kidney etc. Blood pressure is a interesting one. I had not one single other underlying health issues for which was frustrating. How are you today?

@@Will-nb8qk I’m going in for nephrectomy one week from today. I understand it will be done with the DaVinci robot, and I may not even stay a night in the hospital. My tumor is interpolar, 6.5x5.5x4.5cm, hoping it goes well. How are you progressing?

@@RamblersDiner I’m fantastic with no issues but take meds for blood pressure. Specialists said if I lost a few kilos I’ll be off the meds.
I was only in hospital for a day as well. Recovery is pretty quick. I took pain killers for the first week I think I recall. Much easier than a heart bypass op 😂 I have never had one, but witnessed the pain relatives have had to endure. RN is a walk in the park compared to it.
I love coffee and was advised to limit my intake and sip water regularly.
I think I’m close to 2 years on. 😀 Good luck, you’ll be right!

I wish I had found this video before my nephrectomy. My tumor had completely engulfed my kidney. It was 19 cm at its widest. Of course that means it had to be cut out of a large area and it was of course cancerous. I'm afraid I've not been very positive mostly because I'm scared. This was totally unexpected and also I'm 66 years old. I don't seem to be getting my strength back to well. They tell me it might take a year.

I can't make a suggestion, but I can say that I am at 6 weeks post robotic nephrectomy and it wasn't as scary as I feared. The surgery itself is very easy to recover from. I was up and walking on the first day post op, and home on day two. The incisions are small and heal quickly. I am almost back to norma; , just a slight tenderness if I sit for ages. I hope whatever you decide works really well for you. All the best, Jo

My sister is just 18 yrs old. She went through left kidney removal surgery just a month ago. Now the whole family is worried about her because she has to leave all those food stuffs she loved. She was fond of fast foods and chocolates. 😢😢it's disheartening for us. But after one month of kidney removal surgery she is suffering from high fever consistently.
