I was looking for natural was to clean brass, and looked to UA-cam, knowing someone would have some great ideas. Yours wasn't the first video, but it was the best. Definitely the most informative, and showed a realistic comparison with each method, which was very helpful. Thanks so much!
The all-purpose flour, salt and lemon juice works beautiful, but I prefer to use vinegar as a substitute for the lemon juice. Lemons are expensive where I live so vinegar work just as well or maybe better in my point of view.
I was looking for a natural way to clean my brassware, I just finished cleaning 9 large pieces. I had to double the ingredients and the results ware varied but then some of the pieces were older than I am. A few looked like copper but I left it for a few minutes then cleaned them again. One set that was passed down from my great grandmother who bought it all the way from India when they came to Trinidad. They look like gold I'm so pleased
Wow Debbie.. that’s great to know. I appreciate your letting me know. I am So happy you were able to clean your brassware and pleased with the results 👍 Hope you and your family have a great festive season ahead
I just cut a key lime in 2 use them to scrub puja items and rince with pipe water. No gloves and they're nice and shiny. After squeezing limes for limeade I don't throw them out. Instead I keep them in the freezer so I always have them to scrub puja items with.
Imli, my mom does that, more over since it's god better to use natural ingredients to keep the divine thibgyy on, u know! All methods were awesome, thanks Priyanka, i have already soaked imli for my shiva family brass idol at home,
Imli works for both copper and brass idols. i think it is the best method to clean brass and copper idols. our ancestors are really smart. i don't feel very comfortable about the toothpaste method because we put toothpaste in our mouth for brushing our teeth. even if you use a fresh toothbrush and fresh tube of toothpaste, i would still not feel comfortable to clean god idols with it. i am not sure how others feel, but that's just me.
Is this bar keeper's friend available in south Africa I tried using sugar and brown brasso liquid and it gave a bright glow on the idol and the diya was only giving a small glow on it but within so many days it went dull and lost the colour of the brass diya and the whole diya went black and till now Im trying other products and nothing seems to work out after listening to your video and I will try to see if it works or not .thanks for the video and may goddess durga bless you for all the things you do for your house pooja room its so beautiful
Do you wash your idols with dawn after using bar keepers friend, I love bar keepers but I feel bad about putting something toxic on my idols. Vinegar and baking soda work great to, and you can soak them over night in vinegar and it cleans them really nicely.
Awesome !! I like the barkeepers friend, I do use the powder though, I will get some liquid that is new to me, also the Vinegar and baking soda is great too. Have not used lemon and salt with flour, seemed really abrasive for fine objects or round trays .
It would have been nice to give your clear verdict as to which method you found the best as you could see it in real time and would definitely have far better idea from someone watching through video. Still I think either the second method (flour, white vinegar, lemon juice and salt) or the last one (ready made solution you bought from store, should be the best. Since store product may not be available to everyone perhaps the second method would be the best option. I'll be interested to know your won best choice and the reason. Regards. - Prof. Bhupesh C Little
Cleaning methods are fine but for idols of God it is not advisable chemical l usually use viboothi(sacred ash) to clean idols for lamps l use tamarind or lemon without salt
Priyanka suggested five methods to restore original shine to those brassware which have blackenedwith time. One can easily see the difference in look and shine of brass articles before and after treatment.Agood effort to help people save money .

Boil cricket ball sized imli in 1 litre of water. When it comes to a boil dip all brass and copper items and boil for another 10\15 mins. Remove and lightly scrub and rinse. Don’t use soap or dish washing liquid. Voila !!!!!!!
@@rampa125521 not deities. Definitely not. There is a ritual around cleansing and bathing idols of deities. My suggestion is for cleaning diyas, thalis, spoons etc used for pujas. Sorry if I wasn't clear about that.
I reaaaaly loved the fact that you wore gloves during most of the video... Nice hacks 👍👍👍
