Real quick; Durandal is a sword, the blade of the Paladin (holy knight) Roland, in the story "The Song of Roland". Set during 8th century, it revolves around Roland and other Frankish (nkt French, that didn't exist yet) knights in service of Charles the Great fighting the push by the Muslim caliphate (I forget which one, it's been a while) that controlled the Iberian peninsula. Specifically, it describes the battle of Roncevaux Pass in 778. The sword is described as "bloodied to the gold" (the guard at least was gold or golden in color) and served as a reliquary, alledgedly containing a few strands of thread from St. Mary's Dress, some of St Basil's blood, and so on. It was so valuable that Roland attempted to break it when the battle was lost and he was afraid of capture, rather than letting such a relic fall into enemy hands, but it would not break when he attempted to smash it against the rocks.
Thanks for your complete explaantion of this French legend. To complete the story, the legend says than when Roland tried to break the sword it broke the rock instead and opened the Roland Breach (passage between France and Spain).
Can someone tell me where I can read the tale of Roland the most info I could find amounts to "Roland was the hero in the song of Roland" and I mean the unabridged version

Charles the great didn't do anything like that. It was his grandfather Charles Martell that did that. Charles the great mainly fought against the Germans and Slavs in the east.
I remember a scene from a fanfic I read where sanji sees cavendish and flirts with him thinking he's a girl , but then luffy tells sanji that cavendish is a dude,,much to sanji shock and disgust, and zoro just laughs his ass off 🤣

Cavendish did seem to have a grudge against the worst generation for taking popularity away from him. He might have lost his grudge against Luffy, but based on his attempt to "return Law's hat" he clearly does not have any compunctions about the others meeting his blade if he runs into them.
I assume that they were the most active supernovas at that time.

It was first built to serve as a fortress and arsenal, and is in fact quite a small prison. There was only a handful of prisoners there when it was taken and destroyed in 1789.
It's famous in all of Europe actually.

@@siddharthsengar8859 Very true, the fleet follows Luffy himself. There is no need to have someone who is like Luffy on there because someone like Luffy would want to be the captain himself. These two do argue like cats and dogs similar to their counterparts. That is not unexpected, when you mix enough personalities together then they will tend to clash from time to time.

Cavendish is one of my favorite characters.
I'm not French but I can help with Durendal. It is described as an indestructible sword with a golden hilt, however it's greatest treasures lay inside the hilt. It contained a thread from the Virgin Mary's Dress, one of St. Peters Teeth, drops of St. Basil's blood, and a strand of hair from St. Denis. In his dying moments of his last heroic fight, the hero Roland tried to destroy the sword with a rock to keep it out of the enemies hands, but to no avail and would not give no matter what. It is unknown what happened afterwards to the sword.
The legend says that Roland through it, and Durandal flew a few hundreds miles to plunge in the holy town of Rocamadour. (Where thousands of pelegrins go every year)

Cavendish talks in "boku". Hakuba talks in "ore". And almost every single one in OP Male talks in "ore". While the Dwarfs males tend to talk in "Boku". that is noteworthy.

Ps. I just realised something really clever that Oda, Piece be upon him, did with these characters. When Cavendish is awake his hair is in glossy curls. Beautiful and in control. However when he falls asleep and Hakuba awakens his hair becomes messy and undone. If I'm not looking too far into this and that was the intended symbolism then Oda, Piece be upon him, is once again showing his story telling prowess
I cannot tell how much of what Oda does is something he plans and how much is him making things up as he goes along. I assume he does a measure of each.

I wonder how strong Hakuba exactly is. He is so freaking fast, I doubt that many people would be able to hit or evade him. Like Jack for example, powerful he might be, but he got cut up by Ashura Douji so I think someone as fast as Hakuba would cut him to shreds. If you don't have advanced oberservation haki or a devil fruit power like Robin, that allows you to disable him while you see him coming, he's gonna get ya.

Let us not get ahead of ourselves. Wano has only begun its second act so many things can happen. It would be best to avoid drawing, painting, or sketching conclusions before they happen. Doing so can lead to disappointment when things do not turn out the way we want them too.

I wanted to point it out last time you mentioned Suleiman, (not Sureiman like you said it) but he is most likely turkish since his name is based on one of the most well known turkish Sultans with the same name.

Just a small clarification for you Tekking : France isn't the only country where French is an official language, or at least, a dominant one. Just like the British, France had a huge colonial empire and that's why a lot of countries aside from France do speak French.
I'm personally from Morocco where French is actually kind of dominant and became part of our culture.
And yeah, during the 17st century, a "bourgeois" wasn't really in the noble class but was rather a rich dude that made money by himself, but had most likely modest and poor origins and isn't part of a noble family.
I think that, he was mostly refering to France because the style of the character is mostly inspired by the mainland French culture, even though it's true French is spoken in many other countries but of course with cultural differences.

Good because if you didn't have that then the only answer would be that he would never go to sleep, but at the same time it might be a good idea to allow him to sleep when he is fighting. Hakuba seems to be stronger than Cavendish so it might be a good idea to reapply that spell after he has finished fighting whoever the enemy of the Strawhats is at the time.

@@rezahydra Interesting, I have heard of many beings in imagination who lay claim to that title. Some of them are friendly and some are considerably less so. You must be quite lucky to meet those who are kind, most of them that I have heard of would either enact some steep price or would simply drive a person mad though their very presence. I actually think he was thrown out because of the killings of Hakuba. However Cavendish didn't know so he made up a reason for himself.
To add - People weren't fauning over him, they were afraid of him his entire life. And as Tekking mentions with fairy tale aspects - the women wanted to marry him because 'loves true kiss' could set him free and they are basically trying to do a duty to their village
@@invaderal420 It also never really played up that ladies fawn over him. He is acknoledged to be good looking but there are never any ladies chasing him or something like that. I think the whole idea of him being far too popular with the ladies is something he made up himself.
Hakuba reminds me SO much of Speed-o-Sound Sonic from one punch man like the eyes and mouth look the same when Sonic goes crazy and obviously - the speed. Who agrees?

durandal came from a poem the medieval poem of the " tale of sir roland" and was his sword a "legendary sword given by an angel" in very short and it was said that "charlemagne" used durandal too!

What if the reason Hakuba slices randomly is because hes blind and uses sound to find anyone to cut down. Cause when I saw the episode when he slices Derringer down Gladius was kinda quiet and statying still telling him to get out of there also his eyes are pure white so its kinda a dead givaway but only when he's Hakuba.

Is cringe really that powerful? It seems to me that what people call cringe is part of what I find most unique about his videos. His method of doing things really is quite unique and part of the reason he is one of my favorite UA-camrs to watch. I really wish I had found his channel earlier, but then I could have also figured out how to comment and watch live reactions sooner too.
@teslagod2003 If he can create that many mixtures at once do you think that they will find a way to enter reality to face him? If so then I hope that they leave the door open. I would like to enter imagination physically and this seems like a good opportunity for me to do so. I have friends in imagination and if this alliance cannot face him then I suppose once I get there, me and my friends can sit back and figure out what to do.
@teslagod2003 I know of Chuck Norris, but which Shaggy are you referring to? Oh well, as long as the alliance leaves me a way to enter imagination I suppose it doesn't matter which individuals they recruit. At any rate this showdown would make an interesting scene to watch.
@teslagod2003 I have heard of the term "memes" as you so call them, but I am not sure what they are and so I do not pay much attention to them. I am familiar with Shaggy, Scooby, Fred Daphne, and Velma as well as other characters in their franchise. As for Shaggy being the new Chuck Norris, that is one I haven't heard yet. I have been keeping up with most of their cartoons, but the last ones I watched were part of mystery incorporated. A nice show even if they did take a few elements too far, It was nice to see everything build up to a climatic finale. I have also seen some movies such as legend of the Phantosaur which seems to be the only movie in which Shaggy exhibits any traits that seem to fit this idea or meme as you call it. I know that the network is working on Scooby-Doo and Guess who which seems to be similar to the new Scooby doo movies which are also classics. I also know that the latest movie is Scooby Doo Curse of the 13th ghost which is a conclusion to 13 ghosts of Scooby Doo. On a side note, I knew that they must have been short a ghost, they needed to catch 13 and they only caught 12 in that show. At any rate, I am getting sidetracked. I have not heard of this until you mentioned it to me.
@teslagod2003 Like i said, i know about Chuck Norris but Shaggy being included in this is a new one. Honestly I had to look up who Chuck Norris was when I first heard of him. Based on what I can see, these things tend to be taken to the length of exaggeration sometimes. I wonder what led to Shaggy being chosen.
