I still like this Gundam. As a fan of Entry Grade RX-78 (even though I'm a veteran of building now and have built so many high grade in the past few years. I've built like 12 Entry Grade so far and still enjoy them.)I'm still going to get this one when I'm able to
@@mj2005gundamnot quite. Lah is more of an accessory word, I guess? Or exclamation word? It's essentially the same Lah that's frequently used in a lot of Chinese languages.
Great review as always, buddy. Sadly, i was a wee bit too late preordering via HLJ. I have to wait for the next batch. It's a basic kit, and probably one of rhe most uneventful main units in a while, but it has a charm to it.
Sadly, most people, me included, don't really resonate with the beginner build charm. However, had it had more weapons (looking at the Shisaku Ichigata), then I'd have more of an incentive to recommend this one. Hopefully you enjoy yours once the second batch rolls around though
@@mj2005gundam damn, missed your reply! Apologies! Yeah I think I'll enjoy it. I really like building entry grades anyway. Still no news on the second batch but my Mrs is leaving for Hong Kong in a few days. Hopefully she can bring one over for me hehe.
On the one hand I'm all for the fact that this was basically an RX782 variant that was different and at least it wasn't another g****** strike. But on the other hand it really is insulting that if you want to deck this out with a lot of weapons you have to buy another kit and steal its weapons just to give this gundam the load out. Plus like you said there's something missing about this one in comparison to the other entry grade strike that just came out like I can't quite put my finger on it. Maybe it would've been better if they just stuck with another model kit to turn it into a beginner kit like maybe have a zaku be a main character mobile suit or some of the other alternate universe suits or some of the UC era suits. I get the strike needing to be A new kit again because it's to celebrate the series but this one could have been a little bit better. Still a pretty soild review as always!
Thanks for popping by. And yeah, I'd argue the worst thing about this kit is the lackluster loadout, because even if it's just the full original grandaddy loadout, it's still something to justify there being two forms of the kit. But ugh, what do we know about business decisions?
I got the Lah Gundam Shisaku Ichigata and it includes the Sangata's equipment in Ichigata's colors and if you replace it with the original RX-78-2 parts, you get a G3 Gundam in EG form, but. with minor colors adjusted because of the Gundam Base Colors. I kinda wish they also made a storage adapter for the Hyper Bazooka just like in the anime for EG version. Bummer. 😞
Oh for god's sake, so the Lah Shisaku Ichigata is THE Lah Gundam to get because it can be built into models 1 through 3. The lack of bazooka storage isn't as glaring of an issue as the proper one's lack of weapons to at least have fun with them
@@mj2005gundamHaha. I just like anime accuracy. Plus I thought there could be something attached to the back waist because of the Gap there. I recently got the kit and it’s pretty basic but very simple to assemble. Im thinking of getting another one just to make an RX-78-2 Gundam in the Lah Gundam’s color scheme.

Lah(?) Not that bad, since I like the spear weapon, the only thing disappointing from this kit is that the colour choice is bit too plain for something that should represent "The Sun"
the color scheme is boring. the double v-.fin is overly complex in comparison to the rest of the design. And the square chest doesn´t fit the rounded shape of the kit, with the black color highlighting the square edges next to the red shoulders. Even just making the chest red instead of black would have helped the design immensely, by making the hard edges of the chest quietly transition in to the quarter sircle chest.
same. the biggest L of this design are definitely the quarter circle pattern and the vfin. it clashes with the overall boxy proportion of the rx-78. i get that its trying to depict the rising sun but the vfin is the worst place to do it
At the same time, the stock chest is what really doesn't work for me. I get it, it's realistic in what a beginner can achieve, but at the same time the chest is the only part that doesn't mesh well with the rest of the design, and I wished they'd have changed that.
Same way how the Japanese basically ripped from the Chinese back in the war times. Naginatas aren't exclusive to the Shenlong, and Rio is seemingly more adept at using polearms, so it's either a spear or a naginata when it comes to Japanese weapons.
@@mj2005gundam yeah is it aren't exclusive to Shenlong but still was the first one (if I'm not wrong) gundam with that kind weapon. A beam naginata and shield that can be used as a weapon. The only difference was lah gundam naginata can be splitted 🗿

The GBM anime is not good IMO. The Lah, while realistic, feels like it doesn't have a draw, at least for this version. I'd 100% get the G-Base version over this one if I were to choose again
The model kits are good but the anime is terrible. A lot of "member-berries" without explanation of how characters from different series are in one show and still seems to be in their own universe. The show is just a blatant product placement without trying to hide it
I highly agree. It's been the trend for Gundam series/mini-series as of recent. Good/great kits followed by a lackluster show. This one is just the worst of it with its stock sounds, forced plot, character assassinations, and post-Endgame styke of cameos for cameo's sake. Who'da thunk that the fun battles Meijin and Sei had were the draw instead of the salty plot that is Maria vs Rio?
True, seeing Sei and Reiji was cool, but I kept wondering later, wouldn't those two be older? Especially since in the mini movie after Build Fighters Try we were introduced to Reiji's daughter and we even saw an older Aila.
The moment i saw this Gundam, i immediately pass it. Not helping me in buying this was the 3 episode anime =3= I get it - it’s intentionally made to be beginner friendly but in terms of ability, there has to be more (not helping any matters is that the “pilot” who use this Gundam is pretty meh.
