Oh and about McCaffery -- one of very the best slot receivers in the draft, and has a LOT of breathtaking slot-fade catches on his tape. "SLOT FADE?" you say??. . . . hmmm . . . where have I heard that phrase before???-)
Pat Fischer and Darryl Green were short. It's the heart that counts. Fischer was a tackling machine, Green was Green. Fischer said you follow/hone in on the belt buckle.

Around the third game next year, when Washington is reaching double digit sacks, expect there to be a little talk on how everyone wishes Peters had reached on a couple of OL in the draft, that is assuming our new QB doesn't get hurt. If Daniels gets hurt, then expect there to be a lot of talk on the subject.
The OL on this roster are not better by subtraction. Biadasz is only slightly better than Gates and Larsen who are gone. Leno was the second best OL according to PFF and he's gone. The only hope for Wylie is that the new coaches can teach him to stop telegraphing the plays. Allegretti was KCs second string and started playing because the first stringer got hurt. He'd lose his job if back in KC. He's now our starting left guard. Now we have a rookie in Coleman taking over for Leno. Cosmi is the only OL that would start for another team. Chris Paul was 78th out of 81 guards, Stromberg only had 26 snaps. Lucas, Scott, Brooks weren't even starters on the dismal OL we fielded last year. Unless Peters picks up a vet like Bakhtiari or brings back Leno, next year is going to be another year of seeing how deep the Washington QB gets buried into the turf behind this OL. Here's hoping Daniels doesn't end up like RG3 or Alex Smith, two other 6'4", 215 pound QBs whose careers ended behind a poor Washington OL.
But hey, thank Goodness Washington didn't reach for any OL in the draft. Daniels is much better off this way.

TEs are big help for rookie QBs, and between Ertz, Sinnott, and a big WR in the slot (McCaffrey), he has two safety valves. McCaffrey is our starting slot WR. You want sure hands, good route running, taller slot WR. Daniels signature slot fade. Definitely replaced Samuel. Mathis looking over his shoulder@DT.
I'd put Terry in the Slot for the fades too
I know they say the QB is the second most important person in the city next to the president but with Josh and AP in the mix it makes it debatable 😂

Why are these doubters at FOX trippin'? We weren't gonna have any rookie OT protect Daniels blindside in the first place. So we either get a quality vet OT in FA, or stick with the so-so OL group we have now. The coaches have already stated they are stressing the run game more this season, and all the current group can run block. So . . . .

Luke McCarthy actually had a slight better combine than his brother CMC!!!! I think JD is gonna love having LMC !!!!!! Young and ready to make his own path in the NFL and get out of brothers and Dads shadow!!!!!! Can’t wait for this training camp and beyond
And the fact he was a QB and wasn't a WR for very long.. looking like he did? Imagine what he can do after spending more time at the position
In FA, we fixed most of the O-line. this kid from TCU can play. once he get coaching. He will turn heads.
I think C was fixed, wish we had someone to actually compete with Allegreti - hopefully Stromberg and Daniels show up this year

They got 2 Centers and a gaurd. they resigned cornelius lucas at LT. the other OT they got in FA no one has heard of. They got 1 OT in the draft which is supposed to be at LT. which begs the question , who will replace andrew wiley? i hope they get someone else they know can do the job soon.

Rico I like that we got Daniels but I agree with Michael Lombardi they should of kept Howell and he said he would rather have Howell than all the QBs besides Caleb they said Peter's and Quinn can't watch last year's tape and make a decision because last year was malpractice and he's tough. He has a cannon and a lot of room to grow running abilities. Underrated I believe he's going to do great things and that's another QB we missed out on especially if Daniels don't work out

Logan Paulson has a good take on Coleman. He went back two years ago when he played tackle more and has a ver good take on him.
I think the Commanders did a great job with their FA and draft picks, but now the coaching staff is going to
have to do their jobs and use those picks and transform this team from one of the worse teams in the
league to one of the best. They will have their work cut out for them in training camp and preseason to make
this team look respectable after Daniel Snyder ruined it for many years. I think they will succeed, but it might
take some time.

Rico what are your thoughts on Lombardi saying he would rather have Sam Howell than a lot of guys coming out the draft this year besides Caleb Williams I agree with him that Jayden would of done nothing last year in this offense as well but Howell is a tough guy I get I new owner and GM want there own guy but if you have a tough guy that puts it all on the line and has a cannon you keep him I just hope they made the rite pick I kinda wanted Maye but they don't want to wait for him do develop more but his size and arm strength are not teachable just like damm Jayden's speed

Great that they are saying that! I agree we have the most athletic, but that really don't mean nuthin' IMO, if guys can't master the mental or be coached up, where does that leave us? Hey guys any grade that's in the B or A- range is good that's not hating. In fact a c grade is not bad it's just a perceived average so how many times have we seen guys in the sea or B range turn out to be great that's what we potentially have
Nearly every grade below an A was from those who knocked WSH down for not drafting Maye.
How is Kliff Kingsbury a question mark?
Im not sold on JD yet. if he can learn to protect himself when running with the ball he will be ok. especially if he bulks up to 215-220. If he cant it will be RG3 all over again. im managing my expectations at this point. We all know what happened with the hype over RG3. He was good until he wasn't and it only took 1 year. i give our draft a low score because by Day 3 they weren't getting Oline help. just a personal preference. Especially all the help on the defensive side they got in free agency. they went 5 of 9 on defense in the draft. it didnt really make that much sense to me at all. But we will see. It's a rebuild year and my expectations are low. I think they had the highest turn over rate as far as players since in a long time. They basically had to replace 90% of the team.

I don't understand how the bears got such high grades. They only had 5 picks, so they should already be at a disadvantage to start with. Next, they just went with the obvious pick for their first 3 picks. Nothing special. In the 4th round, they picked a punter... No one else even bothered picking a punter, so they could have quite possibly gotten that same punter as a UDFA. They also needed an Edge and DL, and basically just locked themselves out of getting a DL and delayed their Edge selection by a round. IMO that's pretty poor utilization of what they had. It's entirely possible the Commanders could get more long terms starters from this draft than the Bears even had picks.
Jonny Newton, Jayden Daniels, Ben Sinnott, Sainristil, and Coleman should all be long term starters (even if Coleman might eventually switch to guard to make that happen), and you just know Luke McCafrey is going to find a way to see game time. That's already more players that are likely to make a difference in the franchise than the Bears even had picks.
