  • Video review of a 2014 Ford Taurus Limited. This particular Taurus was a rental from Avis in West Palm Beach, FL. Overall I was very impressed with the vehicle. The technology that was put into this "base" model Limited was impressive as they can be outfitted with additional features. Score: 8/10

    I adore my '14 Limited, its been one of the best cars I have owned. Great tech, quality interior, very safe, great on gas, lots of power and drives like a Lincoln on the highway. If you looking for one used I highly suggest a 2013+ models as a lot improved. I would really try to consider looking for one that is as loaded as you find, a base Limited at the least. I crossed shopped 4 other full size cars, Avalon, 300, Impala and Charger. The material quality in the interior were no match with the Ford. The ride was so much more balanced, it was to sporty, to harsh or to soft like the others I found. It does it all right.

    the 2012 has a limp-home mode. In case of catastrophic failure the computer will begin to adjust the engine to get you to safety. One thing I like is if your radiator blows up the computer will port cool air into the engine block by shutting down one cylinder and using it as an air compressor.

    Great video! My dad actually rented this Taurus from Avis in LA. I was upset because it didn't come with Nav SD card. We are gonna rent from Avis next week and I hope we get the Chrysler 300 or the Taurus! My question for u is did u actually use the navigation SD card?? Next time we rent I will check the trunk! Lol

      After this video was created I did use the SD card and it worked perfectly! I asked the representative upon returning the car why they didn't have it inserted. She said they just put gas in them upon arrival and don't worry about anything else.

    It's actually a 3.6 and it's geared higher for high end power as opposed to low end. The governor actually kicks in at 110 as well. There's a lot of power control in the vehicle. I was told that was a safety thing but don't quote me on that part

      Dylan Maki ford doesn't make a 3.6

    Did they ever eliminate the transmission issues that seem to plague the model?

    also about the engine. you got the one with no ecoboost in it. the sel ecoboost only has 220hp the one you got is faster with more torque with 288 HP the reason it feels slower then you herd about the ecoboost is because the high end ones with 365 hp are in the sho modals.

    • @dylanmaki3000
      @dylanmaki3000 9 років тому +1

      It's 315 hp in the limited its a 3.6 v6. I just bought one in June. The reason that it feels slow is because it's American. American made is famous for high end power versus low end. Mine accelerates insanely fast from about 70 to 100.

      Dylan Maki it's a 3.5 v6 ? GM and the Chrysler brand cars use 3.6 & Ford has always had a 3.5

    This car uses regular fuel or premium?

    • @DK-bk1vq
      @DK-bk1vq 3 роки тому +1

      Regular, unless you have the flex fuel 3.5 engine, Which can use any blend of ethanol and regular.

    lol dude it didn't unlock with your hand cause the key was just a little to far away. the car needs the key to be close to sense the key to know it's you getting in the car. if they just made it so you could unlock the car without the key and have push button start anyone could steal it super fast lol. key not close car won't open.

    Hang on a sec. Can you explain this nav sd card thing for me?

    • @ApexReviewsOfficial
      @ApexReviewsOfficial  9 років тому +2

      Ford (and other manufactures) started using SD cards in their nav systems for a few years now. Essentially they provide a card with all of the roads and points of interest every year so its easy to update the database. Without the card however, the system doesn't work.

      I've owned a used 2010, new 2012, new 2014, and current 2016. No issues with either one. Oil changes, coolant flushes, brake pads, and oil changes is all I've ever had to do.
      It's a great, reliable, safe, big ride.

      Stone Rinaldi i'm going to when I pay off my 2011. was going to do a traid in with my truck till someone thought there mini van was a hot rod lol. so I had to get a cheaper one. now when it's paid off and I save up some money I can go a traid in plus put cash down as well. this is the best way to work your way up to the nice cars. my first car was a $500 pos chevy prizim that was 0-60 in 27sec lol then I got a bronco 2. then min van then a truck now a 2011 Taurus. trust me. when your car is paid off don't sell it right away. use it for work keep all that extra money that did go on the car and put that money and your car to a nicer car. works really good.
