- A young Pavarotti sings "Ingemisco" from Verdi's Requiem, from a concert given on Oct. 10, 1970 at the Basilica di Santa Maria sopra Minerva, in Rome. Claudio Abbado conducts the RAI Symphony of Rome and the RAI Chorus of Milan. He and Pavarotti have considerable difficulty staying together, but what a pleasure to hear the tenor's gorgeous mezza-voce, which would eventually degenerate into a whispery croon.

Yes why would they do that, its not an architectural documentary?? The stones are silent whereas Pavarotti's eloquent, precise, and rich voice is not.

@@helciacino1936 it's actually Henri-Georges Clouzot, one of France's most revered movie directors. What the heck is the singer singing about? Do you care? The director did, and wanders through the cathedral as in a meditation. Don't focus on the artist, focus on the music.
This director has his head up his @ss. No one wants to see wobbly pans of a church during a beautiful aria sung with absolute precision.
