Thanks for the pros and cons. Enlightening insights. Gave me the tip to research about flood zones and what traffic may be like. My family only knows suburban living, so that’s no problem. Sounds like there’s good diversity of people living there. Didn’t know about the Vietnamese community there.
@@shawngeerealtor I joined relatives who had moved here in December of 2021. :) We also dig the affordability...and the regional cuisine...and that there are beaches within a few hours' drive!
Honestly that’s not a bad amount to have on your move! If you’re renting, consider it could cost 4,000 to move in for a 2k per month house (2k for first months rent, 2k for deposit)
@@shawngeerealtor Is there a reputable hotel you'd recommend if I travel there for 2-3 days in a few weeks? I'm 22 and have never traveled alone so far- I plan of hitting all the political/tourist attractions like State Capitol/Old State Capitol.
Thanks for Uploading. Considering Louisiana as a Retirement Destination. Seriously doing my research.

Thank you for taking the time to make this video; it solidified my decision regarding relocating to Baton Rouge, LA.
Happy to help 😊 if you do end up relocating here, feel free to reach out!

I just moved to Livingston Parish six months ago from California. Never had even been to Louisiana! Culture shock for sure, but I do enjoy the change.
Oh wow! Lol I have a client that moved down to BR from Cali as well. They’ve been enjoying it so far! Especially the affordability! Lol

Cons - Schools for young families , price of food and bugs are huge cons.

Finally, a decent video produced by one of the infinite realtors who make videos about every square inch of the United States.

How much would you advise a young adult to have accrued before moving? I’m considering moving from Shreveport and have about $15-16k saved in total.

@@shawngeerealtor Thank you so much!
There are no pros unless you enjoy the worse of every single aspect of life. Louisiana is like a third world country with first world taxes.
😂
I personally cannot wait to leave this hellscape. Basically a 3rd world state.
Is baton rouge a MAGA city?
Baton Rouge is pretty diverse with its political leanings. The surrounding cities generally lean right but the city of BR usually leans left
Wow, Baton Rouge has been my 2nd home for decades...it has its issues no doubt but I still like it here!
@@MelanatedSouljaI do like it here!
