I tend to like most hybrids (currently playing a16* 2H and a 19* 3H which replace my 3 wood and 3 iron respectively), and agree that Callaway is missing out by not offering a 2H in the Apex 21. I honestly don’t know why I still see so many mid handicappers carrying long irons.🤔Thanks for another great review.👍🏻
I want the Apex Pro 5 to replace my 5 iron. I hit my 5 OK just looking for a little more launch and forgiveness. I think this is just the ticket. Would go with Apex for 4 and 3 though if I was in the market but happy with my TS2.
Just got fitted with the Apex 3/19 regular shaft and play it lofted at 21 degrees. I’m a 25 handicapper who struggled for consistency with the TM/M6 3 hybrid stiff flex but no such issues with the Apex. It’s going to be my go to club on tight fairways and hitting in to the green on par 5’s. Seems so easy to hit.
Having watched a boatload of these apex 21 hybrid reviews, every single time, the larger/adjustable model beat the "Pro" version. The only thing that a "reviewer" may have prefered the "Pro" for ..was "looks" (behind the ball), due to it being smaller. So ....I got myself one (Apex 21 adjustable) Then another ..then another ...I now have all of them. Best clubs in my bag. (I'd just as soon be 190 out, hitting a hybrid ..than 160 out hitting an iron)
Would you say the club head size for the Apex 21 is about the same size as the super hybrid? I have the super 2h, but I also need a 3h; just not a super hybrid. Wondering if this or the UW would fill in the gap nicely
I’d like to see a test of the current Ben Hogan vktr+ hybrid to compare with the big boys. I know you used to or still carry the Hogan fairway so I’d be interested to see an opinion
Thanks man for just keeping your reviews just reviews, and not trying to be cinematic, self promotional, infomercials, that would even annoy the likes of Casey neistat and have him shouting at his screen telling the other guys to get on with it.
I've yet to bag a hybrid yet. I suppose Ego may be partially to blame for my reluctance. I play Mph5s (2i & 3i) Mp25s (4-PW). I'm a 6/7 Hdcp with the putting stats of a 20+ Hdcp, but I get decent results with my 2i & 3i. But it seems with every Tour Players "WITB" I come across, they're ditching their long irons in favor of hybrids, so I guess it's time I let go of my ego and start looking strictly at performance.
Yes. In 2003 Callaway bought Ben Hogan and Top Flite/Stratus from Spalding when their golf division went bankrupt. Callaway has used some of the Hogan names (Apex and Edge) and they used the Stratus name from Top Flite for some complete sets, but Callaway sold Top Flite to Dicks Sporting Goods in 2012. I think the current Ben Hogan Co. that sells direct to customers is separate from the Ben Hogan Golf that Callaway owns, so Callaway has nothing to do with that company.
While I was double checking the info about the Apex name, I found something I was unaware of. Callaway Golf is the world's largest producer of golf clubs. I had no idea they were that huge!
I just ordered the Apex 21 2 and 4 hybrids! Cannot wait! They are rated as the nest hybrids of 2021.
Just bought the Apex standard, Michael Newton is such a class act, love watching your videos, keep em coming!
Thanks, will do!
Liking your new music lately Michael! Great review as usual!
Awesome, thank you!

After getting fitted for my driver at Roger Dunn..l just realized this guy hits that 3 hybrid as far as hit my driver. WTH!

Hi Mike. Would you recommend the Apex 21 hybrid or the Sim 2 Max hybrid? Thanks!
Great review, I know you're more of a long iron player but would you consider putting the adjustable Apex hybrid in your bag?
Still love the sync of the music on the first hit.

Thank Michael !, good review once again!. Which hybrid you think is the most forgiving between the Apex (regular)and the Ping G425 ? Thank you!
Both!
Dang mike, throw that hybrid in your bag

Haha thanks
The Apex Pro looks very much like the 2016 model.

I’m going to a hybrid this year in place of a 2i, mostly because the hybrid launches so high and stops so quick.
Weren’t some Ben Hogan hybrids also called Apex?

Hogan also had a great line of irons with the Apex name in the past.

I used to play a set of Director irons back in college. Played arguably my best golf ever with them.
I love mine!
Never been a fan of the looks of callaway hybrids. Never understood why they look so square and blocky in the toe
They want the face to look more like an iron than a fairway wood. 🤷♂️🤷♂️
What is the best way to contact you Michael?
