Wilfred Brambell was an amazing character actor and never teally got the credit he deserved in my opinion. Hearing him speak you’d never think it was the same person. In the days when actors had talent, nowadays half of them just play themselves.
Totally agree with you.
Agreed. Now as an adult i can appreciate Brambles true acting skills. Nobody can sneer, leer, or ''letch'', like Wilfred Bramble. Mustn't forget Corbet. A great actor also.
@@rfurdaylee Corbett was a hammy overactor.
@@Jeremy-y1t LOL!! You are very funny! Keep posting.
@@rfurdaylee Brambell acted him off the screen.
Good heavens. You'd never guess that was the dirty old man Steptoe. An upper class English accent, daper dress and politeness itself. Testimony to Wilfs exceptional acting talent. 😊
Well said
Brilliant. What a couple of pros. Always leave the audience wanting more. 😂
A legendary pair !! Can't stop watching ..Brilliant
Steptoe and son is total class!!!
Classic hilarious even now
I lived in Hounslow West in 1963 and Steptoe and Son was my favorite program. Laughter and joy always had me when watching the Tele with a great cast and wonderful writers and I know we were all truly blessed by them and I thank you always.
Two absolute legends of my absolute favourite comedy of all time
Excellent talents!!
What a generation
Acting at its finest
I don't know how anyone can watch this and still believe the media hype that they didn't get on...
James Henderson what? The whole fucking evening?
Get a life.
James Henderson fuck off anyway, I’m bored of you now.
@James Henderson For over 8 years as James Henderson and the alias Harold Jameson you have done nothing but made slanderous comments about Harry H Corbett. A solicitor is putting together everything you have said. Enough is enough.
Yeah I thought that, Sarah. For two actors who (apparently) didn't get along, they seem to be having some good banter here; their body language seems jovial, not hostile
Galton and Simpson have steadfastly denied that they hated each other and said that whilst they came from two different walks of life and never socialised together, and did disagree over certain things, they never had any significant or lasting arguments and worked well together. I saw an interview with Harry H Corbett’s daughter who also denied any significant fall-outs and that they both respected one another enormously.
The late great Wilfrid Brambell and Harry H. Corbett alias Steptoe & Son , The comedy classic sitcom from the 1960s and 70s. They don't make greats like this anymore, more the pity.
Chris Evans your right ther mate 70s and 80s comedy's wher great thay just put a load of crap on tv now
Weird hearing Brambell's posh voice instead of from "A Hard Day's Night".
wow--that's a rarity for the early 60's--no video then. Always a surprise to hear Wilfred's real voice,
Superb great actor's
Very good Charity ❤ in the 60s 70s for vulnerable children 😊
Everyone in the comment section is commenting on Brambell's "English" accent. That "All I can say is, I don't believe it" is Dublin with a capital D. The rest, admittedly, is rp, but he was from that generation that strove to speak in such a manner.
Gotta love em
Wilfrid was Irish but spoke with an English accent. Top actor though
You can hear his Dub accent under the received pronunciation.
@@DarrenBonJovi That's because Dublin people are very English in ways
🤔👍 🏳️🌈 🇬🇧
@@DarrenBonJovi He sounds very Irish to me.
Best of the best.
Nice video, thanks.
Yes .. that voice is extraordinary .. are there any recordings of him reading books for radio ?
Yes he was rather cut glass when not in character as scruffy dirty old man Albert Steptoe.
Very clean old man.
Love English comedy.
The mind boggling thing is that there is only 13 years between em
Corbett looked 45 here.
Oh my goodness. Harold wilson!
Great
Harry Corbett grew up in Sharston, Manchester
Amazing meta intro.
Ha Harold Wilson just chillin’
Gutted they didn't get on they looked so happy here
Billy McAuliffe think they started to hate each other near the end but got on while on screen
Great actors, and they saw they didn’t get on…I don’t believe it.
Cut glass English accent.
And he was from Dublin 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️
Hi what two of the greats of British tv mega superstars Ali Walsall west midlands england junction 10 m6 Walsall churckery up the walsall
At the beginning , to the right ..I think its Margaret Rutherford.
Yes, that was Margaret Rutherford.
My nan met Dame Margaret Rutherford when she was opening a jumble sale of all places in West London,my nan said what a lovely lady she was.
Who’s that little old man?
Steptoe
Albert
What little old man 😂
OMG ! I can't believe how different Wilfrid sounds in real !
Folks, there's a difference between "posh" and "English": That "git" is very Dublin.
Git???
He’s well spoken
They were both straight actors, the series were written with them in mind & luckily they were happy to do it..
Poor choice words, Wilfred was gay that's ,why BBC cancelled steptoe
Brambell would havebmade a great eamon devalera
lol
i thought wif was irish
This must have been not long after Wilfred got busted in the public toilets.
And the kids home in Jersey🤫
@@billyshears1273 That's not been proved. Just someone jumping on the saville bandwagon. God Bless Wilfrid and Harry.
Such a, shame I tout brambell was a nice man very disappointed
Both good actors,
I might be wrong but I'm sure I heard years ago that Harry h Corbett couldn't stand Wilfred bramble
They are getting on fine here. Harry's daughter said it was just made up.
@@richy69ify She wouldn't know.
@@Jeremy-y1t
No research to her books then ?
@@richy69ify Her book was garbage.
