Good insight but I think some context should be added. If you take into local purchasing power in Japan, the average person is able to afford more locally then an American locally (depending on the state). Japanese real estate outside of the busy areas of Tokyo and Osaka are relatively lower compared to many western countries. They have one of the best healthcare systems in the world which is very affordable, as well as one of the best transportation systems in the world so many do not need to own a vehicle. Yes, Japanese people make less money but they have a higher quality of life compared to other advanced economies. But at the same time, you are right in the terms that internationally they aren't as rich when purchasing items or traveling abroad. This might be part of the reason why around only 20-25% of adult Japanese people have a passport. All in all I would say Japan is a very well off country but has many social issues they need to work on in order to be one of the best countries to live in.
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughtful comment. I really appreciate it. You are right on all these points, though it is difficult to put everything in one video! And these points are some of the reasons why I have been living here for so long. I hope that the social issues, particularly the low birth rate and population decline, can be solved otherwise a lot will get bad. Thank you again
Thank you AE cuz no other foreigner makes or gives knowledge about finance🙏❤️
