The mix is fire but honestly saying "DDR 20th anniversary nonstop mix" in between every song kinda killed it for me.
I couldn't disagree more, I absolutely adore that the creator put in the time to record those announcer lines for that old school DDR nonstop feel.
It ain't DDR without the obnoxious announcer voice. Who else is gonna call you a dancing master???

The license for most of the songs you mentioned have already expired, or Konami didn't see any profit to keep them anymore. Musical trends come and go, and in order to maintain space, they had to remove songs to keep the new ones. They chose the ones that they deemed too old school. Xepher (which originated in beatmania IIDX, thus not really eligible to be in a DDR megamix) and DROP THE BOMB are still in the arcades. In the case of END OF THE CENTURY, the license for the lyrics expired. Coincidentally, the songwriter for DYNAMITE RAVE is the same one for END OF THE CENTURY, which is why the lyrics for DYNAMITE RAVE got changed, as well as the singers.
@@JustLou08 that's so weird, seeing that most ddr music was just made by one guy, like D2R and End of the Century, and half this playlist is made by Naoki using diffrent stage names.
@@smeqwack7337 While Naoki did compose a vast majority of the songs, most of them had English lyrics written by and credited to other people, like Argie Phine (lyrics writer and singer of END OF THE CENTURY and the original DYNAMITE RAVE), Johnny Dynamite, and Erica Ash (songwriter and singer of Kind Lady, respectively).
While some were able to stay due to less complications with the licenses (like PARANOiA, for example, since it was solely written by Naoki, which also enabled BEMANI to create new remixes of it), other songs like Kind Lady had a very complicated copyright put in place, and as such were removed when the license expired, as Konami doesn't want to go through hoops to keep them in newer releases.
They didn't include End of the Century because they wanted the mix to be enjoyable
I'm just throwing shade/being silly, you can like whatever songs you want lmao

yup, it's missing a lot of the older ddr songs :(
Those songs' licenses has long since expired, with Kind Lady being the latest one to hit the axe. The only reason why most of the old songs like BRILLIANT 2U and PARANOiA still exist (despite it's composer long gone from Bemani) is because Konami still consider those songs as extremely iconic.
Regarding song license: If the license costs Konami more than they think it's worth they'll drop it. Also, licensed tracks come and go as they add more "current" licenses, the older ones get removed. For example, would the Whistle Song be still relevant for the current generation of players?
Another thing to think about is back in the earlier mixes - 1st to Extreme, the songs were played from a compact disc. It's pretty amazing that they fit so many songs on the available media. So to fit new songs on they removed the older ones.
Later mixes SN1 and SN2 were on DVD and then X to A have been on Bemani PCs. Therefore they can keep the older songs on longer as they have more space to use.
The only song in here that's not actually a "Konami Original" is EZ DO DANCE, which was composed by TRF, which DJ KOO is a member of. DJ KOO is the one who is spouting all the Engrish in between the songs, as per tradition with each megamix since 2ndMIX.
Butterfly is also a song which license has expired, but for some reason Konami bought it back just for this compilation... or is it because of the new remixes? I'm not entirely sure.
