Thx for showing the insides of the shifter! This made me realize, that I just had to tighten the nut screw, that holds the parts together. Shifter didnt shift at all, now its working like a charm, again...

Still have to get a new one though because the little thing that grabs the teeth (the thing you were fiddling with at 6:04-6:10) has a little chip off the edge, which was why my downshifting doesn't work half the time, which prompted me to take it apart to have a look-see. Even mine was Alivio sl-m430, and right one(everything was in the other side of yours) you helped me a lot and i fixed mine and save about 30-40euros from replacing all the system, the last screw that bond them together was loose and everything was out of their position!!! Thank you my friend
Thanks for the helpful video. I took one apart to fix a broken pawl spring but had a heck of a time getting it back together until I found this. The staking tabs that prevent the main nut from turning broke on mine when i tried to bend them back so used some red loctite on the threads as a substitute. Looks like the same happened to yours.
Good video! My right M4000 is working fine as shifter, but it is showing the correct speed just between 1V and 5V. At 6v and beyond it is stuck at 5v. After your video I will just let it go and open only if other problems happen. Thank you

Edit: with a little bit of impossible engineering calculations I found the position of the spring and assembled everything back. Lol

Bang, kalo speed indicator yg ada angka 1 2 3 itu dilepas, terus dipotong bisa ga? Terus abang coba assembly lagi dan dicoba pasang terus shifting. Coba experiment bang, saya rencana mau potong speed indicator nya

Thanks man, helped me re-assemble an SL-M310, I just couldn't figure out those springs. Only advice elsewhere was bin it and buy a new one!
