@1625w162d - aah yes you would be surprised at how the older we get the more interested we become. The reality is that most music evolves from an older form which is quite normal. The advent of technology has created a world where we can mix the old and new with some amazing sounds so in a sense it is an entirely new evolution. Purely as an exercise check out some beethoven remixes such as moonlight sonata and you will hear some truly incredible mixes.
If what I heard is mainstream, I'm not too worried. I've done my fair share of digging, and I can't quite find any time period of hardstyle I don't like.
@1625w162d - I love the song I just don't like the overlay of some tinny noise and it being called a remix (which technically it is I suppose). I have been searching through a heap of old classics that have been remixed and there is some magic stuff out there even for an old fool like me. The other day though when I was searching for more of the hard rock remixes I was struck by the sameness of all the remixes with just a doof doof over the original track with perhaps just a tweak of pace.

Trance ain't near. Club and house are maybe near because all the pop musicians use it now a days. But that's no way near trance. And if the next generation is going to be like this one. Then hardstyle nor trance won't get mainstream.

Original Mix on an Hardstyle release means there's an Intro and Outro (the kicks without nothing else at the beginning and the end)
