The Story of the Vanishing Farmhouse is unusual, and worth investigating---there HAD to have been a homestead originally located at that site. Great tales! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I'm a hardcore paranormal skeptic, but the one single thing that's always bothered me for most of my life is that house. I remember seeing it clearly 20 years ago, and thinking nothing of it. People later told me there's no house there, and then told me the stories. I went back months later and couldn't find any sign of it.

Drew and Bethany, I grew up in Midlothian and Bachelor's Grove Cemetary was part of my childhood history. We used to ice skate on the pond in winter and when we got drivers licenses we went there on Halloween night. This was before the fence was put up and many of the headstones were still standing. Things started getting out of hand in the mid-70s, that's when the headstones got vandalized and kids even dug up some of the graves. I recall Cook County Sheriff's Police arresting some kids at the cemetary when they found shovels in the trunk of their car. Heard all the ghost stories, I could tell you a few you missed, like "there's an old steam shovel at the bottom of the pond" and the one about the kids parking outside the gate and making out in their car when they suddenly heard scratches on the roof. The pond is actually a big mud puddle, it's about 6 feet deep at most - there's another video on YT where a guy wades across it. Doubt the mob ever dumped bodies there, too shallow. Never saw any ghosts, it was mostly a great place to drink beer and party. Thanks for the awesome video, the legend lives on!

I live in blues island first time I went there was with my group of friends like in 2018 and I felt really different when I enter 2 of my friends felt like that too but not the others,, story short we went more inside of then forest and no wind nothing a brg branch of a fallen tree just suddenly moved right next when I was passing my friends seen and we knee it was time to get out of there we also almost got lost beacuse it was getting dark good thing 2 people that where in the cemetery with lights helped us, we told them what happend they left with us that moment soo yeah something happens in this cemetery

    • @Zzyzx--
      @Zzyzx-- 9 місяців тому

@@ronaldoibarra101 Yeah, you def want to go there in a group, especially at night - weird place with a lot of strangeness going on. But still, back in the day it was a great place to hang out, drink beers, smoke weed, weren't enough cops to patrol it constantly. We never vandalized anything but it got worse and worse over the years until the Forest Preserve and the Sheriff's police finally came down hard and put an end to the night life out there. I never saw anything I'd say was unexplainable, but just being there could creep you out, we never stayed for too long.

Okay, so I went here in December 2021. I HAD read up on the lore prior to visiting, but as my friend and I were walking in, I was not thinking about it at all. As we approached the entrance gate to the cemetery, I totally did see a farm house in the same direction you pointed toward at 7:40. I didn't think anything of it and kept looking around. Then I remembered the lore about the house, and I couldn't see it anymore.
So either my subconscious created the vision of the house, or I actually did experience this phenomena.
Great video! I like your camerawork.

*_As usual, you two delivered. So many interesting topics in one video, too. The 'Phantom House' is an interesting twist on the traditional ghostlore related to cemeteries. I noticed there were several graves at the base of tree stumps. That is a very old tradition in several parts of the world, generally meant as a memorial and a symbol of a person's life, to connect with ancestors and preserve family history. Well done, this is one of your best!_*

Went there on Halloween in the late 70's. The cemetery was overgrown with lots of trees around the graves. Many of the stones where already damaged and some graves were sunken in. With it being Halloween there was a lot of drunken teenagers acting stupid. When we went back the next year on Halloween the police had it locked down.

Hey there, happy Saturday! I like the opening dolly zoom effect...a nice little Hitchcockian touch. When you go off-trail in the beginning I picked up on the creepy feeling-- a distinct X-Files vibe going on there. As far as the "Madonna" photo goes, well...to me it looks a lot like the many fake long/double-exposure "ghost" photos from that era.
By the way, a question for Bethany...how may different "I ❤ xx" shirts have you collected over the years? 🙂 See ya next time!

The cemetery looks to be in pretty good condition now that the county is providing some maintenance. I've seen it about 30 to 40 years ago and it was getting a lot of suss visitors. Some of the graves were partially dug up. Pretty creepy stuff. The Fulton headstone is definitely one of the most pretty headstones around.
There are other smaller cemeteries in the woods in the nearby area, but they don't appear to get the attention that Bachelor Grove draws.
Not sure I agree that is a quarry pond. There are plenty other quarry ponds in the area, but they don't look like that one.
    Thanks for sharing!

I've been to Bachelors Grove numerous times. I've seen the orbs, but for me they only really show up in photos when I use a flash. I did get a photo of a ghostly smoky type mist in the form resembling woman. My buddy has that photo. I'll ask him if he still has it. Years ago we did find what looked like a Satanic alter of some sort as well as a freshly dug up grave. Was definately creepy.
As far as the lagoon goes, I've heard similar stories about mobsters dumping bodies. Last summer we went magnet fishing to try to recover anything from the lagoon. Unfortunately we had no luck.

If you are ever back east I would like you 2 to explore the Abandoned PA Turnpike and its 2 tunnels. Other people have done it, but I like to hear what you and Drew say about it. There is also a middle section few people look at that has a basketball hoop in the middle of nowhere in PA so look at that. While you are at it, get off at the Breezewood exit and talk about how the off ramp is part of original pike, how the bypass is handled.
