Thank you for the video! I am in California and my boyfriend owns a restaurant. I would love to use his kitchen after the restaurant closes but the health department said that is not allowed. Can you tell me more about what kind of license/ permits I need in order to use his kitchen?

I already have a cottage food license but isn’t so strict with the ingredients and I need to move to another option to bale to use other fresh ingredients
So yes depending on your state in the county and city you live in you would need business licences of course to operate a business but when you utilise someone else is commercial kitchen you also would need to have yourself incorporated to be safe and also have a food business insurance policy
In Ga you have to be the only one using it. I also heard about hourly but that goes back to being (myself) the only one.
Do you mean the only person using it at that time? So for example, if the restaurant was closed and you were the only one there, would that be ok? I live in Georgia as well and find the rules somewhat confusing.
@@jcmultiverse2194 yes you can use it as long as it's you alone. I have called so many counties and all sId the same thing. Just call anywhere they have commercial kitchens churches, an old deli. You never know.
I’m in Macon Georgia and I’m learning that you have to ask the right questions. At first I was feeling discouraged 🫤 but now after listening 👂🏾 and reading 📖 more I’m confident I should be able to rent a commercial kitchen soon!

it is usually the location where the food is made yes. Your home address for example wont be right one.

Hey how's it going. I own a restaurant in Idaho Springs Colorado. My buddy and I are thinking about creating a hot sauce company and want to use the kitchen but I already own. How do I go about making sure that's legal I've been trying to find a bunch making sure that's legal. I want to make sure I can use the space as a commissioner in kitchen but I don't want it to affect my restaurant business as the hot sauce business will not be a part of bee restaurant

Can it be a restaurant that's closed down, not due to health department reasons, and does it have to be a facility within the city limits of where you received your permits and licensing?
Call your health department because every county/state is different. Here in Georgia you can’t. Good 👍🏾 luck
