  • In this friday's tutorial we are going to draw two eyes in correct perspective. I got many questions going like this: Hi Lineke, I can draw one eye but I get in trouble once I want to draw the other eye ! This drawing lesson will shine a line on this and I will also show the difference between the Graphite pencil effect and the compressed charcoal combined with black color pencil to draw the second eye . The effect is stunning and very realistic ! :D Good luck and have fun - Lineke Lijn ;)

That was so interesting Lineke, I had never thought of perspective applied to something like this but it makes a lot of sense. Certainly you are a master of perspective in any situation lol and you make it more comprehensible, thankyou for doing these videos to help us learn

Drawing with Lineke Lijn I have to admit the limits of my perspective are taken care of with the grid method, perhaps I ought to practice lol, but one thing intrigued me how do you determine the vanishing point for eyes, I’m afraid I’m stuck on a horizon at best, thsts what I can cope with one point perspective I think I’m too lazy to delve deeper I get lost with the rest of it, except for Ariel perspective of course when it comes to landscapes, that in a nutshell is the sum total of my experience!

    • @LinekeLijn

Hahahaha, not lazy at all Margareth, it is just sooooo hard to grab... You will get there, just take your time ;)

I find drawing the furthest eye to be so difficult and stressful, but your accent is so unique and voice so relaxing I was actually falling asleep. Really soothing, and your video has helped me so much. I think I will start with the furthest eye in future, I hadn't realised it but I think my problem is drawing the closest eye first and then trying to copy this eye on the other side and I think my mind is trying to draw what I think I see not how the eye really is. Thanks,

OMG! Dear Lineke this drawing is crazy amazing, I am delighted watching the thing I most like to draw, and laughing when you say what is going to happen if the pupils are not perfectly aline, hahahaha 😨😲🙈I can imagine all kind of funny eye expressions. I have been asking to myself how is it I love drawing faces? And I don't believe you have trouble drawing anything, you say it just to be kind and encourage us,thank from my heart 💖😍💗💕😆😚

Sister, this video is exactly what I needed to see to help me with my drawings. It’s been a very long time since I drew much but I’m starting again.
One of my problems with drawings eyes is that I didn’t capture the perspective correctly early in my sketch. Correcting that later...we’ll you know-we might improve the drawing a little but the differences between each eye is obvious. I’ve been using graphite pencils and as you mentioned in the video the charcoal makes the work much easier, aside from any technical errors I make.
I found your channel a few days ago and I so thankful I did. Your videos are a tremendous help.
By the way (BTW), what is good fixatives to use on charcoal drawing to reduce smudging until I can get my drawings matted and framed?
    ❤️ ya!

      Hi Everett,
What a great message and super that you are picking up on drawing again ^^
You are very welcome and I myself always use cheap hairspray for fixating, but make sure to keep a distance of at least 60 cm when applying.
Thank you for your compliments and welcome to my channel!
      All the love - Lineke

      Drawing with Lineke Lijn
I’m glad you said hairspray; I thought I could use that.🙂
It’s less likely now that I’d get this reaction 🙄 from someone thinking why not buy a “professional art product” rather than a hair stylist product. (I’m a stylist and barber too so, hairspray wasn’t out the question for me. 😂)
Anyway, I just woke and immediately saw your response from last night. Thanks again and...
      Good morning
