brandon, you treat the pups with such respect and care its truly inspiring. my favorite part of the lessons is when you say "gooood" to the pups. it always brings a smile to my face. keep up the excellent work
We all have our own way of training our dogs that work, what works for you, doesn't necessarily work for others. I had the smartest male collie, we had a connection and it was through love and respect, such a joy he was and our female collie as well. Never had a problem with them. They both lived to be 12 years old. Thanks for your training videos for all ,
It's the "Lucky Dog" show which no longer airs with him as the trainer. It's the whole reason Brandon is now doing his OWN thing on UA-cam. Samsung Plus TV is a FREE LIVE TV service. An App on a Smart TV, tablet, cellphone, etc.
@@tjroberts3130 it's called "TV PLUS". It's the free channels that come on any Samsung smart TV or you can download it on your Samsung smartphone or tablet for free. My puppy LOVES watching Lucky Dog! It's seriously his favorite channel. The episodes with horses get his attention the most. His head perks up and he just looks at them like "why is that dog so big?"
Love that you’re working with an older rescue! Just adopted a two year old former stray and there’s so many puppy training videos but I notice her behavior is so different from a puppy!
You are so patient with her. Not everyone can do what you do. You know exactly what each doggo needs before you start and take care to stay in those perimeters. Love watching you work! It's so gooood purrfect!🐕
Thank you for all you do for dogs. This dog looks like my own Cookie, who is also 4 years old, a rescue who had no training. (She was so matted she could not even walk and was carried.) She is now groomed, trained, happy, and loving her life as a dog.
Me and my German Shepherd Jedi have learned so much from watching Lucky Dog. We watch everyday while getting ready for work. Brandon's sweet, gentle, tactful disposition of training is admirable along with his mission to find shelter dogs loving homes. God bless you Brandon above and beyond anything you could ever dream. Thx for what you do for these deserving and very trainable dogs.
thank you so much for these videos and your book. just got a 2 year old rescued from a dog hoarder. he knows nothing, including what a treat, toy, or leash is and is scared of everything, but thanks to your book he is slowly learning the 7 commands, thank you, thank you, thank you
You inspired me to start training dogs. I’m still learning but your training advice has helped me along the way. I’m proud to be a pure positive amities dog trainer😅
I appreciate this. My rescue is a young puppy so this gave me basics to work with him. He came tome at 8 weeks and I knew to use a drag leash which he's had on since day 1. He's 14 weeks and I've been working to stop the pulling when walking by now. I never saw a lure stick before. I'm having him sit when I stop and then get a treat. The lure stick would help with longer periods of good leash walking.
Only open comment I could find you on Brandon. Just wanted to let you know I'm so glad you're back on CBS mornings although that couple were lovely there's no Brandon McMillan but Brandon for lucky dog
You are a inspiration for all pet owners, I’ve watched your TV shows and now your videos. Awesome job, why don’t you have a patreon account? I’m sure there’s a lot of people who will chip in for such a wonderful job in saving so many of our four legged friends.
Brandon, I love seeing you striking out on your own, doing what you do so well. Your clarity in communication with animals is an inspiration. I appreciate it, and our new rescue dog, arriving soon, will also appreciate it. She's also going to appreciate the Lucy duck treats waiting for her!
This is SO helpful!!! Leash should videos are usually featuring bigger dogs... I've been wondering how to keep my jrt's attention without killing my back!
These videos are great! Would love to see a video that shows how to train a high energy dog to walk on a leash and not pull. I have a GSP that has boundless energy - I’ve tried tiring him out but he still wants to pull. So I know I’m not doing something right.
You wanna look into videos specifically about teaching leash pressure, because you want your dog to understand what that pressure means, how to make that pressure more noticeable, and you want to teach your dog how to react to that leash pressure.
I haven't checked out much of this man's videos yet, but I can recommend southenddogtraining and sayitoncedogtraining on instagram for fantastic LLW videos.
😭 I've had my German shepherd daisy for almost 4 years now I got her as a rescue. She's came along way with my training her I actually use your tips. Anyway the leash ohhh boy she pulls😬 I can't seem to get her not to pull the odd thing is when we walk back home or back to the car from the park she don't pull it's only when we leave the house. Do you know what that means and how do I stop her from doing that? THANK YOU BRANDON 🌻
What a sweet dog. Thank you for these training sessions. I just got my lure stick in the mail today so I’m excited to try training my dog. These videos are so helpful.
Hi Brandon your videos are so helpful. I like the way you show working with the dogs not just talking like a lot of the others. Please could you make a few videos of working with adult English Bull dogs. I'm having problems, he is so strong and stubborn. I know he is smart and knows comands but when he makes up his mind to what he wants he pulls his stubborn act. Can you help? Keep up your great work, we need you.
A great make shift lure stick is a yard stick with a wooden clothes pin(alligator style jaws) attached to one end. I drilled a hole in both and used a bolt to attach them.
Love your training miss you on lucky dog. Not the same 😞. The training stick is nit available on Amazon where else can we get it. Do you ever get to Texas?
So stoked you have a UA-cam channel! I think I’ve worn out my old recorded episodes of Lucky Dog 😁 I’ve always wondered what treats you give the dogs, I’ve given my dog too many treats during training before and his tummy was paying for it the next day. Thanks for great video, so nice seeing new footage of your training tips.
Hi Brandon, I'm really happy to see you here :) Your Masterclass was really helpful for this down position and the barking and easy to follow.I would love to see more in-depth tutorials about - playing with the ball, how to find things by smell, to bite by a command and release, to bring things, and tricks off course, it will be really nice if you can make a second more advanced series. Thank you that you brake the teaching into such easy-to-implement steps, cause believe me watching all-day youtube videos can be really overwhelming with so many ''experts'' on this matter. Have a sunshiny day :)
Hi Brandon! I have been a fan for a long time! I refer to your teachings frequently, My question today is, I am getting a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel in about 10 days. She will be 11 weeks old.
Brandon, love your new videos. We adopted a 3 yr old female Beagle mix. Problem we have is the barking at bikes, kids, males and big dogs. Can you do a lesson on this sometime? Other than this issue is such a loving dog despite what she came out of. Thanks
Most dogs aren’t going to understand the fundamentals of the Heel till they’re at least 4-5 months. Keep in mind this isn’t a heel command I’m teaching her. It’s a leash introduction AKA “leash breaking.” It’s important to introduce them to the leash by letting them do the leash drags as I did in this video here. Once they get used to that new contraption dangling from their body then you can teach the heel. So essentially this is just a prerequisite. I did this with her day after day until she was ready to learn a proper heel command.
I have a Tibi 9 weeks old (had him for 5 days) He never had a collar or leash on ....I want to but the blue lure stick. Please post the link . Thank you for all your videos!!
I tried the lure stick to get my 5 month old Amstaff mix to walk with me and all he does is jump at the lure stick. I'm sure I'm missing a step to prevent the jumping. Is there a video that teaches him to stop jumping?
Brandon - How do I train my 2/yr old MaltiTerrier mix girl who is NOT treat motivated at all?? She has had ZERO training and its been very difficult. Thanks!
Your lure stick seems to be sold out everywhere. The others I see look difficult to keep the treat from falling out. Is there another one you recommend?
My 6 month old runs and hides and when we finally get harness or collar on he has peed all over me or area. He knows what it is! He runs every time. I am slowly and I mean 2 weeks of sitting in floor with training treats
So im noticing that a lot of training different techniques is praise & treats. I have an older small dog that has been "trained" kinda by "follow the leader" (i call it) following the older dog that was good on leash & went outside etc but since loosing that dog the younger dog has kinda lost that so what do you suggest doing 1st w training cuz i dont want him to get confused the biggest part we're trying to break is potty in the house but he also is afraid on the leash & i also want to teach him basic commands sit, stay etc.
Hey Brandon, can you do a sesión on how to get an abuse dog to wear a harness, we have a dog we adopted, he is three, he is getting better with the leash but we haven’t been able to put a harness on
Hi Brandon!!! my puppy is 4 months old, when I am at work she needs to be in backyard but I am worried about our recent heta in california and the pool. Help please!?!?
But our puppy chews the leash if we let him drag it. He thinks everything is a toy! He even grabs the leash if we put it on our other dogs. He thinks he is walking them! Lol
Yes of course. Typically what I’m training very young puppies I use a harness. Also when I’m training toy breeds like Autumn here I’ll also use a harness. Once they’re more advanced in their training then I can switch to a collar. It’s all on a per dog basis.
Can anyone please tell me what to do when my dog knows we are about to go for a walk? This is daily! As soon as I grab the leash he goes insane...jumping running I cak barely get him hooked on the leash. (He's 13 years old!! It has gotten worse recently...he wasn't always this crazy) please help! My last dog was trained by me and she would walk next to me with no leash and listened to every I said. This dog is the opposite . Any suggestions are welcome!!
brandon, you treat the pups with such respect and care its truly inspiring. my favorite part of the lessons is when you say "gooood" to the pups. it always brings a smile to my face. keep up the excellent work
