i owned a cfmoto bike, nk400 a naked motorcycle, parallel twin engine, and 215kg wet weight. my bike currently clocking @ 25000km without major issues and major maintenance. the nk 400 is adequate for city commuting and spirited riding, it carries its own weight really well for filtering, slow manuevers, track riding, and some casual rides on twisties. the bike is heavily based on ER-6N of kawasaki, well only based on my observations haha. the common downside i saw for cfmoto bikes is its resell value basically it doesn'tholds its value very well, but for the case for me that will keep this bike it will never be an issue. i am excited for the naked version of 450ss and a fully naked 800nk that will have an engine based on ofcourse ktm 790 haha. anyway ride safe to us all
I went through the exact same emotion when I test rode it back to back with a Ninja 400 & a Yamaha R3. How on earth can they make such an impressive motorcycle at such a price point. Absolutely impressive ride quality. It is rumored to be using a KTM engine which was part of a dropped KTM project though I haven’t been able to confirm that. Either way, what a lovely little ripper!
My first bike, Aprilia Pegaso Strada 650 (single cyl) from 2008 also had a massive single disc Brembo setup from factory too, and it's the best system on any 50hp bike I know. It's great to see that this style is getting back in fashion again, the brake feel of those Brembo systems feel like a fully fledged middleweight tier on a much smaller bike. It's great
This is my first bike! Got it January this year and it's just super easy to use and fun to ride. ABS works really good too that time I was late with breaking 😅. Looks great and Im happy with all of it
CFMOTO will give a hardtime to many brands. It's really impressive how much quality they can pack into a "budget" range motorbike. You got the idea with the CLX 700 Heritage, can't wait to see you reviewing the 800NK !
I got mine 800nk last week. I paid the full price in cash without even seeing a actual bike, $6500 here with the KTM790 motor, quick shifters, fully adjustable shocks, steering dampers and even CarPlay are all included with this price, I was like come on take my cash😂 After about 500miles on it, I d say if the duke790 came with the same price, I’ll probably still grab this one, it’s just so much more practical, comfortable and featured for a everyday commuting bike, compared to the 790. Those KYB shocks aren’t as sporty as WPs on the KTM, but it does make riding on the street a lot more enjoyable, and the infotainment system with CarPlay is a huge huge plus if u don’t like phones hanging on the bar
@@AbstractRider Thanks for sharing your thoughts, I'm eagerly reading all those experiences for an in-depth understanding on how CFMoto is impacting the users
You can pack a lot of quality parts into a bike when you pay your workers nothing….. that’s what you’re all funding with these bikes is pretty much slavery
This is a great honest video Yammie. I'm probably gonna check one of these bikes out. There's a couple dealers carrying CF Moto bikes in northern and southern California. Yes we get that made in China isn't always the best end product, but they can make great things when they want to. I've been waiting for them to make something note worthy for a motorbike, and maybe, just maybe CF Moto finally has something going. I like the look of the whole line up, especially this bike and the 650 adventure they make.
Honestly cfmoto is the brand that is most interesting to me right now, which is surprising since I definitely used to be very unwilling to give chinese motorcycles the time of day. The 700 CLX Sport is gorgeous, and the new 800NK seems amazing as a budget 790 Duke. Hope to see you do some more cfmoto content
The thing is, all manufacturers have had chinese parts all over their bikes for years...they just didn't tell anyone. I guess now there's decent quality full sized bikes being exported to the west it's really just an extension of that
the budget tag is questionable, because it's the first bike to feature wireless apple car play. thats more innovative that the bolt new grafics of most other brands this year...

Great review! I’ve had my 2024 CFMOTO 450SRS for a month now. It’s my first bike and I absolutely love it! Granted it could use a little more torque, but as a beginner bike, there’s ample HP. It’s light, nimble, super easy to ride and very forgiving. Mine has traction control, single swing arm, fully adjustable suspension, slipper clutch and ABS. I cannot fault this bike. The only competition to this would be the upcoming Aprilia RS457, but it’ll have slightly less HP and a little heavier I believe.
I have owned the CFMOTO 300SR for about 2 months now and I must say, I couldn't be happier with a beginner bike. I was skeptical as anyone would be because it's a chinese bike brand with an interesting name, but now that I own it and ride it day in day out, I have realised just how much of a competitor CFMOTO motorcycles are to the big 4.
Would love to see this rip on a track against a Ninja 400 ! CFMoto has been on my mind lately for my first bike, but the lack of reviews and testing found on UA-cam isn't quite selling me on it, up until now with your review atleast!

CF Moto has been around for some time. I feel they should be taken serious and should have a quality product after this many years. They’ve been putting out decent ATV’s for years as well and are known for including all the extra bells and whistles on base model machines.
CF Moto has been dominating the ATV world for past 15-16 years in U.S. I recently just purchase the CF Moto 450SS in black/red/silver.....dealerships are selling CF Moto Bikes so quick.....that I had to drive 2 hours North of my home to purchase mine. At a little more than MSRP.....but I dont care about that wanted the bike.

Currently in the process of buying one, my only concern is longevity, resell value, parts for maintenance and Chinese quality control. Rumor is they're coming out with a 800cc version this year or next.
Interesting! Forget resale value, I have a Hyosung (Korean) parked up somewhere. Chinese vehicle manufacturers in Australia though, often offer an 8 year/ unlimited kilometre warranty to overcome the manufacturing concerns. If you want to keep it for more than 4 years, buy it. If you want to sell it after a year and get something bigger, then go with a Japanese brand.
@@MrEiniweiniI think in Australia it's a 3 year warranty on the 450sr. How has your Hyo been? They didn't have a good reputation, but I was considering one while I lived near a dealer in QLD. I can't imagine resale on that would be great.

4 years warranty on this bike in UK from CF moto says all about reliability from CF Moto, safe to assume it's the same or better than KTM which is where CF moto get their motorcycle technology from by making KTM bikes for KTM and partnering and developing motorcycle technology with KTM for years now..
People seem to keep forgetting to mention the bike has GP shifting available. Also nobody seem to know that there is a 450ss-r version coming to the US soon. That version comes standard with cruise control, single sided swing arm, Brembo front & back, better ABS, better tires, and the design is a little different with the exhaust below the seat like a ninja 650 or R7… if the 450ss isn’t what kills the ninja 400 the 450ss-r will definitely get er
People say that, but I think they just reverse engineered (COPIED) the Kawa engine...due to Kawa moving to a new version of it and lax copyright laws in the china they got away with it. I've tried to find proof they bought the tooling or made them for Kawasaki and can't find any proof at all. But the CFmoto fanboys won't admit it haha
I’m the guy that’s been in your comments section for the last month talking about this bike. Thanks Yam. More people needed to here this and I’m certainly happy I bought one before dealers start charging more for them
I've been on the fence between this and a Ninja 400 for like a month now... I've been hesitant because they're just not as tried and true as some other brands. But, if it has the Yammie stamp of approval, that clears things up for me. Lol I love the design and the price as my first bike.
I was initially going for the Ninja 400, but after I sat on both, the Ninja felt like the cheaper bike. And I did enough research on CFMoto as a company and its users, so far I have yet to see any owner who had any major issues on their CFMoto aside from nitpicks or minor issues.
My concerns with this bike are reliability, aftermarket, and resale. I don't think we have enough data for reliability, aftermarket isn't developed enough yet, and historically resale on these haven't been great. I love the idea of this bike, but I'm still leaning toward a Ninja 400 for those reasons.... however I'm yet to ride both back to back. I'm not a beginner rider, coming back to bikes after a break. I like lightweight bikes and want a cheap toy. Im mindful that i may want to sidegrade or modify at some point.
Do you mean this particular engine or Cfmoto in general? If it's latter that's not true at all, they've been around in china and here in Australia for YEARS...plenty of information on them. If you mean this new engine, sure...might be worth waiting a couple of years to see if they develop any premature problems
@chrispekel5709 They've been around for years in Aus, but haven't got a great rep (yet) and still not much aftermarket support. That said, I admit I don't know anybody directly who has owned a CFMOTO. I've just heard of people getting rid of them, but it's all anecdotal. It's a bit of chicken and egg with wanting more data on it, and I'm interested to hear how this model holds up, being a new platform.
As someone who bought a Chinese Truck/Bakkie/Ute (country dependant) for towing the Dirt bikes and Racing cars, and well I've since sold my Audi S5 as a daily as its just that Freaking good, it's about to hit 50 000km in a year and honestly the Chinese stuff coming out (not all of it) is amazing, they have def upped there game.

@@bulthaosen1169 the 450SS weighs 20 lbs less and has 10 more hp. Ive got a CF 300SR (Aus bike, SS in freedom land). Have put a bit over 6,000km on it since January. Have had the gear position sender fail and is being replaced under warranty, front and rear wheel speed sensors spacked out in some horrendous rain, sent a check engine code but nothing else dramatic. No other issues yet. I wish there were some aftermarket pipes that kept the underbelly can instead of side mount. Also if the 450SS is your jam, wait till yhe SS-S with the aingle sided awing arm and under belly pipes ;)
The only issue I've heard that concerns me is that it sounds like CFMotos have next to zero resale value. Even if you realize that it's a great motorcycle, it's apparently pretty difficult to convince someone else of the same, so you basically can't sell it.
You get around low resale value by not selling it 😂😅. If it’s the bike people think it has the potential to be I would not think about selling. Just keep it in your stable.
Because there's no guarantee this company will exist by the end of its warranty lol. Chinese companies are notorious for coming and going. Also, where most Chinese products fail is in the details. Bearings, metal quality, etc. All areas they cut corners to get that price low.
@@Mix-lt2hj Not quite, their company has been making motorcycles for far longer than ATVs. CFMoto is only new to the American Market, but definitely not new to the industry of Motorcycles. i owned a cfmoto bike, nk400 a naked motorcycle, parallel twin engine, and 215kg wet weight. my bike currently clocking @ 25000km without major issues and major maintenance. the nk 400 is adequate for city commuting and spirited riding, it carries its own weight really well for filtering, slow manuevers, track riding, and some casual rides on twisties. the bike is heavily based on ER-6N of kawasaki, well only based on my observations haha. the common downside i saw for cfmoto bikes is its resell value basically it doesn'tholds its value very well, but for the case for me that will keep this bike it will never be an issue. i am excited for the naked version of 450ss and a fully naked 800nk that will have an engine based on ofcourse ktm 790 haha.
anyway ride safe to us all
I went through the exact same emotion when I test rode it back to back with a Ninja 400 & a Yamaha R3.

I paid the full price in cash without even seeing a actual bike, $6500 here with the KTM790 motor, quick shifters, fully adjustable shocks, steering dampers and even CarPlay are all included with this price, I was like come on take my cash😂
After about 500miles on it, I d say if the duke790 came with the same price, I’ll probably still grab this one, it’s just so much more practical, comfortable and featured for a everyday commuting bike, compared to the 790.

I'm glad to see something like this do so well against all prejuduces
The whole duke 790 is now built by CF moto so that shows that they can build good bikes

Aftermarket parts for this is plenty in aliexpress since it's been out in China and Asia for 2 years now. Even Carbon fiber and Carbon forged parts so it looks closer to the concept bike it was based off from
Awesome video yam thanks for reviewing this bike for us 😊
