  • FLIGHT SWISSAIR A310-221 HB-IPB ZURICH-ISTANBUL
    Summer time is flying time.
    Winter time is editing time.
I am now starting to work on my oldest footages, starting in 1993, using Hi8 analogue tapes. Quality is partially horrible and editing and scene cutting this material is a true nightmare. Nevertheless it is worth its while taking all the trouble to save these memories for the future.
This inflight video features a flight onboard Swissair from Zurich to Istanbul. Swissair was famous for its high level of inflight service a quarter of a century ago.
    History of Airbus A310-221 HB-IPB
Airframe 251 was manufactured 1983 with initial registration F-WZEH, delivered to Swissair, registered HB-IPB, May 30, 1983 and named after the City of “Neuchâtel”. HB-IPB retired from service July, 1995. B-IPB was sold to Federal Express and registered N447FE, March 19, 1996 and converted to a freighter.
N447FE was stored at Victorville (KVCV) July 3, 2012.
Enjoy with me the Sights & Sounds of Classic Aviation.
Thank you for watching my channel.

Just gorgeous!! Brings back to me a lot of fond memories. At the time, SR's service was unbeatable and the A310 one of the most advanced aircraft ever.

I flew with Swissair A310 first time in August 1983, Athens-Zurich and continued to fly on swissair A 310 many times between Stockholm and Zurich V,V and also once Zurich-London and Athens-Zurich (the last time I flew A 310 in swissair colour) in 1994

I have a question you might be able to answer. It seems that in every video I see, everything I read about Swissair the Maitre de Cabin are always men. I know from another video uploaded here (in which they commented on this matter) that well into the 1970's Swissair didn't hire any women to become MdCs but even in later years it seems only men flew as MdCs! Did Swissair ever hire female MdCs? I know Swiss nowadays does, but did Swissair?
