Lil Wash, Lil Decon, Lil Polish - Winter Driven Square Body Chevy Detail!

- This square body chevy came in dirty, covered in snow, and littered in sanding scratches! We addressed all these issues in the best ways we know how. Starting off with a bit of a thaw, pressure washing snow all over the shop has proven to be not the best idea in the past. Next we did a complete wash and paint decontamination to remove all of the dirty this truck had picked up, followed by any contamination on the paint in order to prep it for paint correction. The truck has been painted fairly recently but there were a serious amount of sanding marks and regular defects to remove in order to get this finish up to an acceptable look. So thats exactly what we did, a 2 step paint correction, what we were left with was a heaaaavy metallic black paint that really does this awesome classic justice. I hope you al enjoy the video! This video was my favorite. My first truck was a 1985 Chevy Silverado 6.2 diesel single cab long bed. I wish I still had that truck. This truck was the first 6.2 diesel truck ive ever seen that someone actually cared a lot for like i did mine

Very nice choice of music in the beginning! I loved the shot at 1:53, very original. On a final note, that textured surface on the rim of the cargo bed is some horrible surface for tape to adhere to! Beautiful results, I love the older cars which are often ignored on most detailing channels it seems. Keep it up!
Thanks buddy! Yeah its line X so if you get compound on it you can actually wipe it off really easy since its not porous. But it seemed more appropriate to tape it haha

Man you do great work! Your videos are top notch. I'm always in my calm place when watching you detail. Do you prefer Griots Fast Correcting cream over M105? I notice you use both of those. The gloss and colour definition really popped when you were finished this detail. Another job well done!
Thanks Kelly! I honestly much prefer FCC with a DA. I do really like M105 and 110 but I was mostly using them because there was a supply issue with griots. Both great but would take FCC almost everytime haha

Why did you do the contact wash before ironx/tarx the paint. Arent you just adding scratches? I dont get it...
You could do it before but you could argue that it’s less effective on a heavily soiled vehicle because it doesn’t actually teach the paint therefore wasting product. 9 times out of 10 you’re not dragging bonded contaminants across the paint because they are bonded. Which is why you use tar and iron removers. It really doesn’t matter either way, it’s just different for each situation. Any one who tells you there is a 100% proper way to do it needs to acknowledge that they are literally washing cars 😭
