Hi, I’ve just started at a new job and this is the stump grinder they use but they don’t know where all the grease points are, would you be able to tell me where they are?
I Love!!!! my RG-45. I have 800 plus hours on mine. My drive is chain driven (older model.) I would put mine up against any Vermeer or Bandit machine any day. Thing is a beast. Not sure about Franz's experience with Rayco but my machine has paid for itself many times over with minimal issues. Nice video.
That rubber piece in the drive line is called a flexible coupling, or flex coupling. It's designed to transfer torque when the shafts are not perfectly aligned. Any misalignment on a hard coupling will destroy the bearings so the flex coupling saves the day.
Since this is a direct drive, how does the power take-off work? That is, how does the switch engage/disengage it? Also, there is a variable speed on the cutter wheel. Does the speed control adjust engine RPM to control the cutter wheel speed?
How much did this machine cost

I want to get a rg 45. I demo one a few years back and wish I had gotten it.
The rg45 is an awesome machine! The 55 is just as capable. They are very reliable and powerful.
I’m looking at buying this unit in the next week (April 15th 2019) wondering how you like the unit and do you feel the RG37 is as good with exception of power not being as high?
I love this grinder. It has been great so far. As for the 37 I dont think you can wrong with one of those either. If your only doing your own stumps I'd say save the money and buy a 37. If your going to grind stumps all day every day get the most power you can afford.
Jake Tate Thank You for your quick reply! I started my tree business five years ago and we are now at about 50 Five Star reviews, planning to use this machine for a stump crew as well as grinding the stumps for trees we remove.

You can tell that to your hairdresser.
You haven't worked 500 operating hours with it yet.
On the lower pulley you can see parts of your Japanese belt.
Poly Chain belts have blank pulleys.
What I can say is that I've owned 4 machines with the same style belt and I've never had a problem with any of them. Proper maintenance goes a long way. My hairdresser can tell you that lol

On the RG 45 a Japanese greasy toothed belt is mounted.
With a short service life.
Rayco is not a good company.
