We always open the cabinet doors have heaters facing the pipes as well any pipes in wall. Like our washer ect. Leave water trickling. ( sink/ bathtubs)
Cover all pipes outside and faucets.
Always stock up with goodies microwave stuff. Or non microwave things. Pbj ect can goods snacks.
I Just assume that there might be a black out for a week like we had before. We didn’t get a couple hours here and there rollovers. So I’m extra now!
Having gas in your house for me is a must.
Buy you an electric or battery power water boiler . Stock up on the big things of water.
I think I get it from my grandmother.
I also keep extra medicine just in case we can’t get to the doctor . If there’s an emergency. Ect
Extra flash lights, portable phone charger. Candles, etc..
Next on my list is getting a gas stove ! We got gas heaters and electric heaters in our home. Which is such a blessing!
We also cover all of our windows most the time or use towels around the windows, depending on how much condensation, etc. there is we do live in an older home so sometimes we gotta be extra even though it might look ghetto 😂
Here in Milwaukee WI it was -30 absolutely freezing cold they literally called it a artic cold front and that exactly what it felt like we were with power for days!!!!
I use a nutcracker to open things when they are on defectively to tight

Honest question. Do you have heat for your home? I’m in NY. It was in the negatives. 19 sounds glorious to me lol We just turn the heat on and bundle up outside for Winter.
Our washing machine is in the garage pipes frozen 🥶 can’t wash mountains of laundry we are in Ireland
You guy's should put an insert in the main fireplace that will heat your home alot better during these cold snaps the open fire placese don't heat much ,and a big generator to run the house then you be set for these typs of scenarios !

What about blinds or curtains. That would help with the cold. I like your channel and not trying to tell you what to do. They would help keep the warmth in. Love your house.
