    Most beginner traders don't realize just how challenging trading for a living is. It's the most challenging, introspective but rewarding business you will ever undertake. It reveals your weaknesses that you never knew you had, but makes you a stronger person on the other side. Great humor added to such a dry subject for most. Great job!

      I think that most people know the stats. Twenty percent of traders can make a living, the rest starve. Is that right?
      I got lucky on a long-term gain, but am looking at trading now. The amount and variety of information I've learned about the world and economics more than makes us for any losses.
      Will be practicing with paper money today though (for the first time).

    I lost 70k since I've graduated from high school in the stock market from no technical skills. Took me 7 years. About to turn 26 soon and this person speaks the truth. I started off this coronavirus layoff pandemic daytrading. First week I woke up at 7am and daytraded all day... Would make some and lose some... but then after that first week I realized that first 1 hour and last 1 hour is all I needed to play.
    Day trading is awful... but constantly making 1k-5k a day is very very rewarding as long as you record everything and don't compare yourself to other traders or investors that are much much more wealthier and better at trading than you.

    • @jackzheng2125

    Biggest trading mistakes I have made
    1. Having multiple big screens and spreading charts like worms in a can
    2. Unhealthy eating and neglecting the tremendous effects of nutrition on focus
    3. Counting Lamborghinis before they hatch
    4. Scouring UA-cam for stories of glories from daytraders
    5. Daydreaming

      So far my biggest mistakes have been on paper.
      Example. Setting up a take profit which didn't consider what percent of the stock I was really looking at. Can't tell you how many times that made me miss bigger ups.
      Researching a company carefully and literally buying a similar sounding company - that mistake is done...but it is a much healthier company than the one I intended to research so I might as well hold and see what happens.
      You're no. 3...I've never considered Lamborginis before they hatch. My mind doesn't operate on greed. Maybe that'll keep me less emotional about money? Just like how on my channel I have taught how to maker better horsepower when I really care about gas mileage, I too am enjoying the game of it, more than actually caring about getting money. This might be a very good personality trait.
      You're no. 4 was very much worth clicking read more on! I wasn't looking for this video, in fact, I really want to trade for long term, but I'm learning some short-term trading lessons on the way just because...no matter my personality. . . . some more instant gratification...yeah, I'm not invulnerable.
      5. Daydreaming...what kind of daydreaming is bad??

    Glad this came across my feed... #4 is the mistake I've been making and it is most definitely an anxiety inducer and account killer. Causes you to pull out of winning trades when they pull back before making their next leg higher. And they always seem to pull back right when you buy in, so you dump out, take a loss, only to watch it make the move you were going for 15sec later.... So it turns into "death by a thousand paper cuts", kind of trading because you repeat it trying to "catch the next one." SMALL size leads to big wins. Much easier psychologically, to weather the pull backs as a stock makes its moves.

    I’m watching this after I made $300 on $UAVS & $VISL today. And then tried to buy in the dips to catch another run and ended up losing $500.... the content of this vid was what i did wrong today. And I’ve definitely made that mistake before. My goal is $100 a day. So far this week I was up $700. I would’ve been up $1000 for the week but since i got greedy instead I’m up $400 now. Great video and hopefully I take this lesson from today to better myself!

    • @griffinreitz7041
      @griffinreitz7041 4 роки тому +4

      A daily goal is never a good idea. Let me try to enplane why.
      The market doesn't always offer $100 a day, and some days it offers $1000. If you are focused on a set dollar amount you trade to much when the market doesn't have money to give, and you limit your profits when the market is running.
      Stop thinking about money, and start thinking about opportunities. You job isn't to make money. A traders job is to recognize opportunities when they have a probability edge, and to take, and manage those setups. Nothing else. Good trading !

      @ArmaniXperience 4 роки тому +1

    I've been trading successfully for years. Most of what you say is true, but one suggestion..... simplify things. I use to do all those crazy stocks and finally quit it. It was too much work. Too much wasted focus. Another thing... Paper trading is worthless. There is no emotion involved. So.... Trade the ES, focus on one thing and get good at it. Get rid of all those monitors, learn price action. Trade the ES between the opening + 3 hours and then quit for the day. There. That's it. Simplify, simplify, simplify. You should easily be able to pull out +300 a day.

      I totally agree of most of what you said. I am a full time trader who trades the ES minis in the futures market. I have been doing it for years now. I agree with the paper trading. Instead of paper trading trade the micro ES "MES" It's less money but is good practice with live trading. Another thing most of my losses are under $75 a contract. In all my years my biggest loss was $200.00 a contract that was in my beginning stage. In the ES there are lots of opportunities to make very good money with very little losses (example $65.00 stop loss) but you need to know when to get in. Yes you can make a very very good living trading but get rid of the notion you will be a millionaire in 6 months, never going to happen! A doctor, pilot, judge etc put in large amounts of time to their career what makes you think you can jump in front of a computer knowing absolutely nothing about the markets but yet think you can make a million $$$ in a month?!!! You can make a large amount of money and a very good living trading but it will take seat time and lots of it. It's not all trading to succeed. The mind plays a large part of your trading!! Good luck all.
