Just a thought but if the balls are fuzzy, try Velcro or even pool noodle rollers

We found that velco does have great grip, and the balls are fuzzy enough for this to work. We opted not to use velcro since the upper wheels index the ball, and requires slip to work.

Velcro will also wear down later causing problems in the future.
