- Bill made his own Fallout 4 Mister Handy scale model! The figurine was modeled in Fusion 360, printed and then molded and cast. Several light layers of paint were applied to get that Fallout metal look.

Fun fact: the tiny model robots you can find throughout Fallout4 actually use the same meshes and textures as the full-scale robots in Fallout3 and Fallout: New Vegas.
Yeah, I noticed that too
I had to like it straight away, the first 30 seconds had me in tears :P
me too
This showed up as a recommended video, and now I never want to leave. The intro, your personality, the bowler hat...
(And I'm going show this channel to my brother, a sustainable manufacturing major, when he returns for spring break)
You should try to make a tiny power armor suit
Punished Props it'd have to be simple like t51 or t45
My grandson & I just thoroughly enjoy your channel. Your wife and you are great. Your videos are helping me with my modeling/miniatures work (scratchbuilding) and my grandson into COS. Keep up the great work!
+Punished Props no, thank you!!!
Awesome work Bill! I'm in awe of your weathering skills, always turns out so realistic
Glad to see you had a few hours without rain to film outside.
This would be an awesome kit! Punished props never fail to impress with the props you produce. Great work!
This combines everything that I love. Thanks, Bill!
Excellent work Bill. Really nice job.
i bought your book on foamsmithing armor last week and it's amazing.thanks for the videos and books to help me start doing propmaking. thank you so much!!!!!
This is absolutely amazing. I love how you used your laser cutter to etch the letters in. I'm going to have to try that when I have smaller letters that I know won't 3d print well.
I'LL BE DAMNED!! I never thought about using a pressurized paint tank for a pressure pot. That kills the expense! Thanks.
Excellent build and finish. It looks nice and grimy.
Thanks!
Cool wasteland workshop barn too. Very authentic!
This is absolutely incredible. It looks official, from Bethesda themselves. I'm sure hardcore Fallout collectors would spend a very shiny penny to get one of these :P
FUCK YES WE WOULD
I really love that primer look.
Fantastic job. I printed the Codsworth model available on Thingiverse but this looks even better.
That is some super sweet work sir!
I really love all your projects. Omg I want a studio like yourss, with all these tools and paints and... ahhh I'm in love
Boo to the person who gave this tutorial a thumbs down! Keep it up Bill! Thank you for sharing!
Your little introduction bit was mental
This is a great video! Cannot believe how informative you made this. Thanks a lot!
You're incredibly welcome!
Awesome work as usual Bill, I specially love the hat.
Bill, you make it look so easy!
That was outstanding. I'm in awe of your skills.
Excellent Content as always Bill and Britt!
That intro was awesome
And so was your Mr. Handy
One of the best videos that I've ever watched.
Huge work! This Mister Handy is amazing!
You always do such a great job. :) This is probably one of my favorites I've seen you make.
That intro was outstanding. I laughed pretty hard when the encumbrance message popped up. xD
that looks really cool, good job
That intro was so awesome I subscribed instantly :D
Welcome, we're super glad to have you!
- Paige
Bill I loved how you made this, maybe for the weathering take a look into "Vallejo" it's a brand of paint for miniature stuff and I use it a lot especially their grime and weathering stuff, it's really good to use for both big and small projects
I'm always happy to play with new finishes and paints! =D
Oh man! That is so awesome!
No way man. Dat intro, subbed. Really inspiring work!
Happy I found this channel great job
I would love to buy one of these
Nemrac I completely agree with you. The second he said that he was making molds my heart ached for one haha. Please sell them!
im to lazy to weather. ill just wait a couple 100 years
Booker 88yrs left
Booker, no good. Works better when you wait 210 - 215 years.
The Federation you see that Booker said that they’d wait “A couple hundred” years.
Too*
Loony Lunes i missed a letter on a comment i made 3 years ago?!??!? I DONT THINK ILL BE ABLE TO RECOVER FROM THIS
Hey Bill ..I'm making my own Mr handy as we speak ! Mine is about the same size. The color finish you used was really cool..so I'm gonna try and replicate that. Thnx for this awesome video, this really helped me out which colors and techniques too use
Great hat! Totally missed it the first time I watched this 😄
Awesome build!
Amazing. Great work!
Beautiful!!! You are an AMAZING Artist!!
I normally don´t like props but this was awsome!
I was gonna say he is a cruel bastard for not giving him a hat until i saw 8:42 :D
Dude, that is amazing!!!
I need this in my life! I would love to see you do a model of one of the suits of power armor.
lol the concept of the main character of Fallout 4 as a vlogger amuses me.
that's so cool! makes e want to build more droids.
Jake, I have the feeling you watch every prop related video on UA-cam
+Punished Props ah, so that was the idea behind the claptrap army!
+ThesafilmsLP trust your feelings
Did you just call it a droid...TIS A AUTOMOTRON YOU UNCULTURED SWINE
wow the texture of the mister handy model is the texture of the misterhandy's in fallout 3
Ahhhhhhhh that's so amazing!
holy cow ! great job! I have been using fusion for a while, but I never attempted something this complex! and impress, just to bad you wont give us thee stl's so we can enjoy our own build of it. but we do understand the work involved. great video nonetheless.
Un-sanded filler primer is so satisfying to look at lol
For real
dude your so talented, i love your vids. Fantastic Mr.Handy!
I don't know either, but I to am in love with miniature/tiny robots
You should definitely talk to Bethesda about producing some official licenced kits. I buy them in a heartbeat!
Awsome work!!!
I still really want a kit of this. I understand that Bethesda would most likely take issue with that, but the heart wants what the heart wants.
Please, please make this into a kit!! I will buy a thousand of them!!
+AFaultyClockworkOrange I somehow suspect Bethesda might have an issue with anybody who starts producing Mister Handy kits (or indeed any kits based on their IP).
+TeaDaemon Fair point, I hadn't even considered that.
3D kit at Thingiverse.com
0:38 gonna have to drop that illuminum.
This is amazing
You make this look so easy...
+Punished Props wow you actually replied, awesome. I'm going to try to into stuff like this too and your videos help a lot! Thanks
absolutely amazing build, but I'm super disappointed that you won't share the plans with us being as many of us don't have the skills or tools to do such on our own
+Punished Props oh believe me I get it but also know that if you ever sell a kit for this I will be the first one waving cash in the air, have a nice day
looks nice!
It would be nice to see a full scale model.
Folkenstal made one of those! www.folkenstal.com/portfolio/mister-handy-codsworth/
You coloured him into a very light Mr Gutsy green
Can you post a link to where you learned fusion 360? And what are your tolerances for the connections cause when I try to slide one piece into another I can almost never get it to fit right
Love your vids bill!!! Can u plz make a vid showing the equipment used to clean up the Masters and Casts? 👍👍
+Punished Props Thanks Bill!!!
do you have a website where someone could purchase these props/models?
Caleb Rowell at the end of the vid he says this one isn't for sale.
3D model at Thingiverse.com
What do you want made?
I loved the intro
Glad to hear it :)
Awesome build !
I thought 325 always cured kind of milky. Did yours come out so clear because it was pressure cast?
could you please provide a link to where i could download the model? i would love to enjoy this and this would makea great gift
Whats the name of the putty you were using to fill the 3d printed wand in the Joel video. ?
Don't know if you will see this but I wanted to know if you would make a finished one I could buy?
It'd be cool if you did a pit droid, Love your tutorials btw!
Is there anyway you could give out the 3D blueprints for the prices to Mr.Handy?
The mr handy model you find in game is based on the mr handy form fallout 3/new vagos
Model version is about mister handy from fallout 3
I'd love to buy a kit version of this!!!
Bugger, just caught the end of the video where you stated you shan't be selling kits. That's a bummer! :'( haha
When you say "normal primer" on your second primer coat do you mean like a Rustoleum flat red primer?
You do damn nice work.
brilliant
Would you say that acrylic or enamel paints are better for models?
Bill...awesome job! Congratulations on getting that 325 to come out so clear. It's always been more of an amber for me. Any tips? Is it because the master was so smooth and shiny?
Thanks Bill. I've pressure cast 325 quite a bit...and I've never gotten it that clear! 😄
Awesome!!
What is the font used on the nameplate? It looks awesome and so retro.
very awsome,i'd love to have one...sadly i lack molding skills, nor have any needed gear and material
Hi ! Fantastic model well done !
I'm wondering how did you recreate the Mister Handy logo on the back. I'm currently doing a Mr handy to and I'd like to add a 3d mr handy logo on the stand (and probably a general atomic one on the wall). I'm also thinking about building a mr gutsy, it could be nice if you build one with your mr handy !
The Mr Handy text on the back was engraved with my laser cutter.
Thanks for the answer ! My question wasn't really clear sorry, what I mean't is how you modelled the writting of the logo, I tried to take some pictures to replicate it but I don't have clear enough shots from the game
When you're wet sanding do you still use 220 grit sandpaper? Or do you go finer with 320 or 400 grit (or even finer)?
Tbh I prefer Mr. Handy as a companion over Dogmeat... his little quips and the regular "how are you?" make traversing the wasteland much more enjoyable... plus he's really freaking op
hi just watched your robot vid very good thx. my question is you used pla for your main parts? can you tell me what were your 3d printer settings? I'm struggling trying to 3d print a ball the pla fails no matter what settings I use ie speed feeds heat settings. if you can help and I'll try your settings. thx for mr handy!
Ok thx for the reply anyway.
that look so cool
You sell the blue prints? By that I loved! I want one!!
Omfg. It's so flipping cute! And the cool thing is, you can actually put a hat on codsworth in fallout.
Amazing
ahhhhh I just do not know what makes me feel so relaxed after one of your videos (it`s realy weird...)
You say that you made a few more of them. Is it possible to buy one model?
