This song came out when I first got my driver's license, so great memories. Loved it then, love it now. Glad you guys liked it and thanks for taking a chance on this one.
Man, Y'all taking me way back. I was 16 years old. This song playing on the radio with The Fat Boys "Fat Boys Are Back" and Boogie Boys "A Fly Girl" while riding on the bus from the city to work at Six Flags Over Mid-America in the summer of 1985. Take a listen to A Fly Girl... it's essentially the same beat as Let's Go All the Way. But, it's a hip hop/rap song. Early rap. AWESOME!!!
This should only be played in a car with it turned up and with friends of course, cruzing to the beach for the nightlife in mind, what a pump up song for meeting ladies on a summer night!
I believe the white guy that song in this song also sang in the Levi's Butterfly Jeans commercial. He blew up from that, and then this song came out and was played everywhere. At least it was played everywhere in NYC. I was so young but that is what I remember.
I think that I like this song more NOW than I did when it came out. I was a metalhead back in the day, and was "too cool" for this stuff. But now, I can appreciate it for exactly what it is......FUN. It's on my list of "if it doesn't make you wiggle, you have no fun, and maybe no pulse" songs. Like many songs of its day, there is a deeper meaning or an undertone of darkness there.
Forgot this song... Then you brought it back. Never saw the video. So never really pictured what the singers looked like. Very catchy! Brought me back to that summer... 🎉
Anyone here remember the Boogie Boys - A Fly Girl? Apparently the producer was the same one who produced “Let’s Go All the Way”. He supposedly liked it so much as did the Boogie Boys, that they used a reworked backing track for their song. A Fly Girl, though, was actually released before Let’s Go All the Way.
Even this young (at that time) Metalhead ALWAYS loved this song. This really popped out of the woodwork for me in the middle of the Dance/Pop wasteland of 1986 and I loved it the first time I heard it. Have loved it ever since. The only thing that surprised me about you guys's reaction to this song is that this didn't go playlist within the first 30 seconds although it took just a minute. But yeah this song is absolute 🔥🔥. *P.S.:* You should definitely check-out the ICP cover of this song, video and all. You would love that one, too.
Man, I miss ‘em! We didn’t appreciate what we had when we had it! Wish I could have a do-over on some things! Damn sure would have appreciated it more!
From my last year of high school. Yes, this was at all the school dances and you just couldn’t stay sitting. It was also warm up music for skating for hockey. Not even going to pretend I disliked it. There was such a variety of music on the pop charts in the day that this wasn’t that unpopular.
Don't recall their video - might have never seen it until now, but certainly remember this on the radio in my latter high school years. Still as catchy now as then. Haven't looked it up but must have come out in the era of Animotion's Obsession; at least my leaky brain remembers it that way.

Probably like most in America, I was first exposed to the song through the After the Fire version (which is the third link above) getting heavy rotation on MTV. It wasn't until later that I learned about the original version by Falco. The original may have one of the cheesier looking videos, which is the first link above, in early music video history. However, I found a completely separate and much more professional looking video (for the time) that was apparently released in Europe. That's the second link above. When digging in further on the song, I discovered that the American singer Laura Branigan wrote a new set of lyrics over the instrumentation for "Der Kommissar" and released a song called "Deep in the Dark," which is the fourth link above. As a final thought, the guys were talking about great synth lines (perhaps for a-Ha's "Take On Me"). While I can't disagree with that contention, I would nominate "Der Kommissar" as well due to the integral part that the synth plays in the song and how the lines keep the beat. This is particularly true considering the fast tempo that the singers have to talk or rap, depending on one wanted to characterize it. I've included the instrumental version of "Der Kommissar" as the fifth link above. Thanks again for the terrific recommendation. It brought back good memories of a more enjoyable and simpler time. 😀
Good beat! I had forgotten about this song! I think the tune/ music itself is to attract people to the song then hopes the listener will hear the lyrics, what their saying. My thoughts. Love y'all can disagree on muisc at times etc... and it not ruin your relationship. Need more of that. ✌️
Don't forget to check out "Funkytown" by Pseudo Echo (peaked @ # 6 in1987). It is a cover of the classic disco song by Lipps, Inc. (peaked @ # 1 in 1980). The same song was a one-hit-wonder for two different artists - 7 years apart. But Pseudo Echo's cover really lights a fire under the song and takes it beyond it's disco roots.
This was such a fun song and I was in 9th grade when it came out. I am totally picking up what y'all are putting down. I think y'all are spot on about the lyrics referencing NY and California. Towards the end, it even says "We can make a better way". And the two kid versions of the artists carrying off the globe to me was very poignant in the same tone. We used to turn it up so loud when it came on, and we didn't even realize what the message was. Great reaction.
ua-cam.com/video/fe8jJBoEmuY/v-deo.htmlsi=8H0FTB83S7k7zahN This is a group that one might think would be set up for more success than being a "one hit wonder." The band was primarily a duo, made up of an artist that had been a vocalist for funk pioneers Parliament Funkadelic. The other main artist had apparently been a protege of David Bowie. So, the resumes for both of the main contributors to the group were strong. However, "Let's Go All The Way" would be the only hit on the band's first and only major label release. The song peaked at #7 in America during the mid 1980s. However, the song did go to #1 in Canada, placed in the top #10 in 3 other countries, and in the top #20 in 3 additional countries along with the European Hot 100. The song was highly thought of by some in the music industry as legendary original MTV VJ Martha Quinn reportedy called the song one of the funkiest ever. In an interesting development, this song may be the first in the marathon (at least from what I could find) that actually included a sample from another song in it. The song itself has been sampled at least a documented 4 times (including the "multimix" version of Soul II Soul's hit "Back to Life"). It's documented that the song has been covered more than 10 times with the most well known artist or group so far being Insane Clown Posse in 2000. The link above is to the ICP version of the song. While Sly Fox may not have lived up to the group members' decorated pasts with other artists or groups, they can affirmatively state that they do have a top #10 hit in America and success with this song in other countries to their credit, something many other artists and bands cannot accurately claim.
Yeah the extended 12” mix is definitely more “nah nah’s” but not terribly over done. The intro is slightly longer with the “zung zung” effect without the beat. I’ve always loved this tune.

As for video game systems, I (personally) got "lost in the woods" after PS2 and the original Xbox. I used to always jokingly say that a video game is too complicated if it's easier to kill your enemy in real life than in the game. Again, just kidding, but video games have become ridiculous in the last 10 to 15 years. A few memorable lines in this one from the guys include: Ryan, talking about the guys taking viewer suggestions and if people don't like the song, "Blame it on the people" (which seems like another good channel t-shirt idea). Nick, referencing the buzzing noise in the song, stating "It sounds like someone's in an electric chair." Ryan, discussing the shorter song version in the video, said "All you need is a couple of 'Na, Na, Nas' at the end." For what it's worth, I checked the lyrics, which list SIX lines of "Na, Na, Nas" at the end. 🙄 As for the video, the little boys (representing the two singers) were the best part to me. I particularly enjoyed the sections where they were destroying toys but wearing safety goggles in the process. Safety first! 😂 Nick and Ryan were talking about the lyrics and message, putting some emphasis on New York City and the "apple core." For some historical context, NYC was not in great financial or social stability in the late 1970s and through a good chunk of the 1980s. One could analyze that the "apple core" is referencing "what's left of the city," just as the core of an eaten apple is typically the last part before an apple is disposed. I know the guys have done videos for them before, but I got a little bit of a Living Colour vibe from this song. The song also had some foundation from one of the duo's time with Parliament Funkadelic, one of the baddest bands on this or any other planet. The first link above is to a live P-Funk performance of the classic "Give Up The Funk." Should anyone want the instrumental version of this song for their next karaoke party, it is the second link above. Enjoy! The last comment that I want to make is that the guys should never have to feel that they need to apologize for liking a song that they think the audience largely won't like on the channel. As I've mentioned in other posts, music (like any other art form) is subjective. While this may not be my favorite song or one that I particularly like, the guys have the right to share their opinions on their channel without concern of criticism about something that is an opinion. I'm sure there are many songs that I love that the guys and many viewers would greatly dislike. However, that doesn't make me right and everyone else wrong or vice versa. Hopefully, the guys can get to a point where they don't need to feel they have to apologize for liking something and the viewers, while they can certainly disagree, do not help foster an environment where people, especially the hosts, have to apologize for liking a song on the channel.
Hi there, listen to the artists, The Midnight, Kalax, Gunship, FM-84 Ollie Wride, Timecop 1983, Miami Nights 1984, Cadenti, Flairover, Marvel83, Earthshifter, Jake The Kid, The Black Renegade, Power Glove and NewRetroWave. 80's Synthwave feel good music.
This song is a banger. A nice blend of synth/electro, hip hop and rock. You're correct that drum beat is the backbone of it. Its actually a hip hop drum beat from a track called "A Fly Girl" by the Boogie Boys, which came out a couple years prior. The sample is uncredited.
If you know you have an earworm it is always best to stay home from work (or school) until you're sure the infection is gone because it can spread to others if you start singing it over and over out loud. Can't take that chance.
Who are these latest artists you're reacting to, I'm 58 and probably a lot older than the both of you, and I've never heard of these people? I got my musical information from: family, friends, the radio, and MTV from approximately 1972 to 1985. I didn't really like MTV from its inception in 1980 to 1984 when I stopped watching. To give you an idea I looked at the first 200 videos aired(some repeats) and figured out that I liked roughly 12% out of the 200 videos. Keep in mind that I'm pretty eclectic with my tastes, but let's just say that whenever: Michael Jackson, Madonna, Duran Duran, Cindy Lauper, WHAM, any English New Wave group came on I changed the channel, and don't get me started on how ridiculous Reality TV is! With these selections, One Hit Wonders I think, I recognized Donnie Iris and that's it, which is not necessarily a bad thing that I've only recognized Donnie Iris, hopefully there might be more? Also, while I'm at it, please start a reaction to my favorite group Kansas and also continue reactions from Styx, Boston, Chicago(I love Peter Cetera and Robert Lamm, but Terry Kath is my favorite of the 3 lead vocalists and he's in my top 10 of guitar players), all 3 of you reacted favorably to 25 or 6 to 4 and Peter's voice, Danny Seriphane's drumming, and the amazing horn section of James Pankow-Trombone, Walter Parazaider-Woodwinds, and Lee Loughnane-Trumpet. Please check out Make Me Smile studio version, I'm A Man, In The Country, What's The World Coming To, Color My World, etc...Please continue as well with Rush, Triumph Genesis, Bad Company, Journey, Foreigner. Also, with the One Hit Wonders category; I'm hoping How Long by Ace is in there somewhere! I'm thankful that you guys are listening to different things, some groups or artists you know or don't know. Thank you!

Well, that was quintessential 80s….
If you know you have an earworm it is always best to stay home from work (or school) until you're sure the infection is gone because it can spread to others if you start singing it over and over out loud. Can't take that chance.
Call to your heart by guiffria. ❤ hold on by Ian gomm.
Electric blue by ice house
Oh boy… Another Song That’s From GTA 5
How about doing a reaction to calling all the hero's by it bites
I know the marathon is coming to an end but here's another good one hit wonder to react someday: Youssou N'Dour - 7 Seconds (ft. Neneh Cherry)
Yet another song that was banned from my school dances.
Hey this is not one hit wonder but what about Toto's Georgy Porgy?? Please Ryan..........😊😊❤❤❤
Now you need to hit Word Up by Cameo
We actually did that one a long time ago. It was blocked, unblocked, and then eventually taken down by UA-cam 🙃
Oh snap! Thanks.
How exactly are they going all the way? 😆
Interesting that you analyzed the lyrics. I’ve heard this a million times and it always sounded like nonsense.

Thank you!
Literally never heard of this song before today, and I am soooo glad. This is a NO hit wonder. Wonder how it got on the air............
Never heard it. Sorry, that's a no for me.
Where‘s Ty???
The drum beats closely similar to We Will Rock You by Queen or its just me?
I don't remember this being a hit.
Went to #7 on Billboard Hot 100 in 1986
