If people want a spooooooky hint: when listening to these on a PC or laptop, open another window that's playing the ambient noise of a thunderstorm in the background. Gives MR James and all other spooky stories mad atmosphere, son.
+Steve Richardson I'm a Dubliner. lighten up and open up your judgemental mind. This fun comment was in a context the receiver would understand. Note the cheesy grins at the end.
Once you get past the twittering female of the first five minutes ( admittedly it's not easy ! ) it improves slightly. The faux Edwardian dialogue is lamentable and the plot is more of an insult than a tribute to M R James .
Pretty high-pitched critique. While it cannot match any of the real James work, it defiantly has the flavor of it. And, nothing 'faux' about the dialogue. Using James as its model makes for a diverting and well produced show; if not a wholly a tribute, then at least a fine reminder of James's short story artistry.
I am very surprised that these have not had more views. A very entertaining story, well-produced. Thanks.

Dear Heart. I'm A Yank. Remember World War II?
How to promote this channel? These would be great for students.
14:47 and I'm really mad at the hosts, and worried about the poor kid.
Hard for me to connect to this story, why is it in these tales James or the characters he writes about are such whimps' ?
Embarrassingly awful. Poor old Monty must be spinning in his grave.
Silly and stupid critique. This is no James masterpiece (what else is?), but well produced with the definite flavor of M.R…
