This applies both to their deeper and more emotional songs as well as their witty clapbacks in their diss tracks and harder songs. If I'm being honest Epik High has become my favorite artist in the last year, and a lot of their songs that are on the more emotional side have brought me a lot of comfort and really make you feel something. Thank you so much for checking them out! Another small thing I'd like to mention is that Epik High always has great features on their songs, whether that be other rappers or a multitude of extremely talented singers. I've been introduced to a lot of amazing artists through Epik High! Even if you don't react to them on the channel I think you would really enjoy listening to them on your own (I've found that their music is really good for study sessions and to play while working).
That definitely is Jisoo. One of the perks of a YG trainee is to be a part of their senior labelmates projects like Music videos or as back up dancers in music shows.
Being a 2nd gen fan & a yga stan for almost 15yrs, i've encountered so many kpop fans who are rude and disrespectful towards the artists who truly *paved the way* for kpop. Its saddens me of how the kpop community became toxic that i had to leave for sometime. I'm actually still seeing incidents that Epik High were still being disrespected by new k-stans. Sigh~ but thank you Caitlin for appreciating Epik High's music ❤️ i just hope new kpop stans would be just like you.
I loved what you said about paving the way. It has become so toxic and used as way to belittle others in all directions. But your so right people are always influenced and benefit from the people that came before and that should be celebrated for everyone! ❤ thanks for this series as always its so much fun!!!!
epik high are nothing less than LEGENDS truly the idols of our idols! I have immense respect for these guys also ¨rosario¨ and ¨born hater¨ are one of the BEST rap songs I've ever heard!
EPIK HIGH is one of the hip hop OG in Korea but then on the path, there was some drawdown of the group due to military hiatus and then followed by a controversy of Tablo, it was during that time Tablo was signed by YG and it was mostly due to the influence of his wife who was an actress under YG... Right on the day, he went to the YG building, YG(the head) introduced him to Taeyang and told them to start recording and then his song called Tomorrow ft Taeyang was born... After the completion of the military enlistment of other members, he then brought them to YG and Epik High signed under YG in 2012... A label called HIGHGRND was formed in 2015, it was a sub-label under YG which was led by Tablo but it closed down after Epik-High left YG..
I am truly enjoying this series like way too much.. seeing AKMU, 2NE1 and EPIKHIGH in this channel made me happy I hope you enjoy their discography offline
The funny thing is that young kpop fans now use the phrase "i paved the way" after this song came out, just to put down legendary artists like epik high and CL and to put new idols on a pedestal hahaha that's just demonstrates the relevance of OGs❤
Epik High are legends, so many artists got their inspiration from them! Every song is a masterpiece. They Collab with a lot of amazing artists. Their latest album, has Hwasa and Jackson Wang. On dive studios, Tablo had a podcast. I'd be listening to it while at work. Lol definitely recommend it. Also, Jisoo is an acting queen! Hope to see her in more dramas.
Epik High have the best lyricism, I’ve been a part of High Skool for over a decade now, and their lyrics and music always hits different for me more than other artists. I love them so much, thank you for your reaction. 🖤
Caitlin: they aren’t kpop they are hiphop *cue Tablo* Tablo: Mithra Jin the maknae of kpop… Tukutz the creator of kpop! *cue Tablo at MIK Fest Kpop day* 😂😂😂
A little info about the Born Hater music video: all of the guys (except for BI) represent one of the seven deadly sins- sloth, pride, lust, greed, etc. That's why they each have a personalized bathroom set, like Verbal Jint reading adult magazines (lust) and Tablo disinfecting and stepping on cockroaches (pride)
I don't think Tablo is pride. Tablo would be envy as shown by dressing to look like a painter and crossing out other artist's paintings with red tape, displaying envy towards the creations of others. Bobby is representing pride by showing off all his trophies and money, taking pride in showing off his accomplishments. DJ Tukutz is sloth, Tablo is envy, Beenzino is greed, Verbal Jint is lust, Mithra Jin is gluttony , Mino is wrath, and Bobby is pride.
Epik High's music has been a huge comfort to me as I've gotten older. Songs like "Love Drunk", "Home Is Far Away", "Lost One", "Us Against The World", and "Lullaby For A Cat (unedited version)" are songs I listen to a lot when I sit alone in my apartment. I relate a lot to their feelings relayed in their music, the feelings of not being able to see old friends/loved ones due to being endlessly busy with work; the feelings of being stuck in a cycle; being depressed and lonely... and yet the hope that lies behind all of it that maybe someday it'll all be different. They truly are incredible artists that I really respect.
Girl, i love how you talked about the "pave the way" thing", when that phrase is brought up is often used to discredit other. What you said is exactly what i think about it
EPIK HIGH ARE THE GOATSS! Their on a North American tour right now and I’m lucky enough to see them again and I can’t wait ❤❤ I recommend their show to anyone who wants to be amazed 😂😂😂
epik high is literally one of a kind! their lyrics are something you won’t find somewhere else. I went to their concert last year after stanning for many years and it was so worth it. seeing these episodes of second gen is so nostalgic to me
I’m halfway through this video and I love your reactions to their music so far! If you have time, even if it’s on your own time, I suggest the Suchwita episode where Tablo is the guest. I love seeing Yoongi with his idol. The banter between them just made me smile the whole time!
Haven't watched yet, but oh my God, am I so happy you're checking them out! I'm only a casual fan right now but I saw them on tour this month and they're so fun! Tablo is pretty infamous. Even if you don't listen to Epik High, he's that entrenched in the koreab pop culture fandoms consciousness. Ppl remember him and his daughter from Return of Superman, or not as fun, remember the drama and trauma he and his family went through in 2010 (its a whole mess and not something I can properly break down in a comment section). He had/has a podcast with Dive Studios and ofc, the music they make gets around bc of the sheer size of the discography, the QUALITY and iconic collaborations. (I'm a huge Jacky/Jackson Wang fan and when they announced a collab on the recent album, strawberry, i just about died from happiness) I recommend their Buzzfeed interviews to get to know them better, their personalities shine and I have a soft spot for Mithra and Tukutz who have to deal with Tablo's outrageousness, they really will kill him in his sleep one day, that man... xD
Epik High as a group, their music are just classics, lyrics, top level, outside of music, they are just hilarious, on reality tv shows. Also Tablo’s relationship with his daughter is just lovely, funny…just wholesome ❤
This is in no way a reaction request (keep doing what you're doing ty), but I think you'd like to know that Bobby and Mino have a unit together called MOBB and i think you'd LOVE their stuff like Hit Me! :D Also Mino's solo music is EXTREMELY good, he's a straight up genius!
Their whole discography's really good, especially when you search up the lyrics. I listen to it every time that I could but whenever I watch lyric videos, the translations still blows my especially Tablo's Lesson tracks. Btw, a short fun fact, Tablo's called the "Lyrical Assassin" 😹 Thank you so much for reacting to them and enjoying the songs ❤
Epik High mean the world to me! Their music and lyrics have brought me comfort, have made me laugh and have brought me to tears. I really hope you listen to them more ❤ not for the channel or anything but in your own time. They have way too many great songs to miss out on!
I saw epik high at a festival and even tho i didnt know them they had the crowd going crazy! Even the security guard was in shock at how they were rapping lol...
Born Hater will forever and always be that one song for me. Also don't know if you noticed but during Beenzino's rap, the girl with the blue cap on sitting on the floor is Somin from KARD predebut.
The song that made me love Tablo and Epik High was Rosario. Because the lyrics were like a message (well all their songs have hidden messages) but Rosario was really the one that hits me. Especially when I learned about what happened to Tablo years ago.
They're so fun to see in person. If you ever get a chance, I definitely recommend it. Since their discography is so large, they have very serious and very fun, upbeat songs and makes for a great concert experience. On top of them being amazing performers. I was able to convince 2 of my friends to see them in chicago with me this year and I'm so excited.
Epik High are amazing. Great lyricists. Yoongi and Namjoon were inspired to become rappers by their first hit Fly. Both have worked with them now - Tablo featured on Indigo most recently. Tablo is a priceless jewel, he has a podcast in English. Amazing. So glad you are checking them out. OH! Best desk calendar ever.
Aside from the amazing musicality and genius lyricism - Epik High are also 3 of the funniest people you will ever see. Their concerts are 2/3 music 1/3 comedy show. When future Caitlin has time to explore Epik High some more, I suggest adding an interview of them into the mix.
Thank you so much for reacting to Epik High ❤ They are such great artist and their lyrics are soooo poetic and well thought. And they are a group of dorks who love to make fun of each other. They did paved the way for so many artists. You mentioned RM,he and Suga really love Epik High and have sooo much respect for them, specially for Tablo. Whenever they get together you can totally tell the amount of respect they have for him and what a big source of inspiration they are for them. Same goes for B.I, they have been supporting him since early in his career and even when he had to stop music because of his scandal, they were standing strong by his side. I've just seen the four of them live together and you can tell how much they love each other. You said you were thinking of seeing them live. If you have the chance, TAKE IT. They are amazing in live, so fun and entertaining. Even though you don't know much about them, their energy and personalities are going to make you jump the hell out of you and have the best time ever ❤❤ They are the definition of showmen I also would like to suggest you a few songs. Fly, it's the song that blow them up, a classic. Don't hate me, it's very fun and i think you're going to enjoy it a lot. And one of my personal favs, Rain Song. But all their songs are amazing. I suggest you to check some of their interviews too 🔥 Sorry for the rant and thank you again for your work 💖
The vocalist for Love Love Love is Yoongjin of the electronica duo Casker. Absolutely worth a listen if you ever feel the urge to check out something a little more obscure.
I hope you react to more Tablo and Epik High, the way he has with words is mindboggling. Legit my favourite group and they're also hilarious as hell, just see any variety they do! Definitely go to their concerts if you can, they're one of the most fun concerts I've ever been to.
Love that you reacted to Epick High they're so amazing and every time they make a comeback they make such a splash in the korean music scenes. Their albums are art. By the way I really hope you do a Dive in for Zico because he's such a star and he has a bit like Bobby his gentle side and his killer rapper side and they're both amazing. He's also hitmaker.
let me tell you, if you were in korea at early 2000s, that song Love Love Love was heard like EVERYWHERE. I remember as a kid always hearing that song as background music for so many people's blogs back then. Since it's an old song I don't see alot of foreign fans reacting to it but as a Korean , it's one of the default songs you know if you know Epik High. Thanks for reacting to it!
Tablo’s lyrics made me aggresively learn korean/search translation while listening to the songs, understanding their lyrics just add a whole new experience to it! The whole Remapping the Human Soul album was my highschool/college emo days 😂❤
I was just about to recommend this after seeing Rosario literally hours ago 😂 though I know you're doin yg family (so including former groups). But thank you! Really enjoying the series... Born Hater will have a special place in my heart, LOL! But Rosario's lyrics literally talk about these Legends. Epik High inspired so many, CL remains the Queen! Zico is considered the #1 Kpop group rapper 🙏 Legends!
not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet but the reason why every one of them had a different "set" in born hater is because they're each supposed to represent one of the 7 deadly sins, as follows: dj tukutz: sloth tablo: pride beenzino (the one with the shoe boxes): envy verbal jint (the one that comes in after beenzino): lust mithra jin: gluttony mino: wrath bobby: greed and b.i. is "the pure one", represented as a cleaner dressed in all white who's trying to clean up the mess all the others have made also, i highly recommend you read the lyrics to this song! one of my favorites from them for a reason
omg i love epik high. Theyre such good performers and song writers. I knew youll appreciate their lyricism, I know youll enjoy their songs like Rain Song, Based On a True story and Home Is Far Away. Tablo also have a podcast that you may want to check out on your own if youre bored, he's so interesting and it's in english. Thank you for the reaction, hope you enjoyed it as much as we did
DAAAMN GURRRL YOU ARE SURPRISING US…. Didnt expect for the next episode to be out so quick….. BUT I AM LOVING IT LOL. 😂❤. EPIK HIGH … LOVE THEM! Especially Tablo OPPA!❤❤❤ Now you got me thinking who are the other artist you chose cause I know for sure (swear on ny grandmother’s grave) that you got Winner and Big Bang. Im curious to see who the other two you chose. Gonna have to wait to see… the expectations are killing me lol. AGAIN THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS!
My only exposure to Epik High was over 15 years ago to One and 1분 1초 (1 Minute 1 Second), both still some of most beloved songs of all time. They definitely were more melodic and pop tracks of their discography
THANK UOU FOR DOING EPIK HIGH. Once thing I love about them is that the LOVE a feature. Every album has some note worthy features and they always kill it
I would say that Verbal Jint (the guy with the "suggestive" magazines in Born Hater) is probably one of the most influential korean hip hop artists; he's essentially the artist who created "rhyme schemes" in South Korea; he's one of my favorite artists. He actually dropped out of law school to pursue music (and you can see the law books in the back of his frame on the song) he does have a degree in...economics I think? I think if you were to check out anything from the hip-hop side then he, Tiger JK, and probably Dok2 would be some artists I'd recommend just due to their influence on the genre. I actually saw Epik High in concert when they came to the states, an amazing concert tbh 🙏🏾
I you want to learn more about Epik High I recommend you reacting and wat hing their interviews especially their buzzfeed interviews bff test, first times, & ranking their songs
Once again, I met EH thnx to YG lol I think it was thnx to the rendition Tablo did of Taeyang's Eyes, Nose Lips. Tbh I like his version more than Taeyang's, it's more raw, and hurtful. Anyways, I then found out Tablo and his daughter Haru were on Return of Superman, so I watched it and ended loving them both lolol. Then I went deep dive and read everything and anything I could about the Tajinyo issue -that made me have mad respect for Tablo. I love his way of thinking, and the ideas he pours in his songs. My ex was a big fan (thnx to me lol) so I gifted him some albums and his books (which ofc I read them too). Even if EH are no longer in YG, I still follow their music, they're just really good. They not only produce sick and adicting beats, but their lyrics do make you think and question everything.
I wish that you'd also deep dive in KHipHop labels like AOMG, H1ghr music... they have great talented people... And maybe in the future dive into Kindie labels like Magic Strawberry Sound, you won't regret it!!
I'm in the Chicagoland area too; born & raised in Chicago, but my husband and i are now in the suburbs.. Anyway, thank you this entire season. I'm a YG stan and love that you're diving into other artists. I listen to artists outisde of YG, but there is just something different in YG artists that call to me lol
tablo is a great rapper but i genuinely love and appreciate him as a lyricist so much… songs are mostly something i listen to enjoy but every time i listen to an epik high/tablo song i just have that need to look at and internalize the lyrics… he had a podcast called tablo’s podcast and a few vids he did on their channel and until now i retain and go by some of the lessons and advices i got from tablo… he’s just so wise and real and you just feel comfortable and understood when you listen to him, a very cool, genuine dude who’s gone through life, something about him feels so wholesome and human… plus he has a veeeery cute relationship with his daughter haru lol you’ll probably see that on his twitter sometimes
Loved that you dove into Epik High! They’re so fire! Also their energy live is nuts! They had a show today here in Chicago. Hate I couldn’t see them again. My first introduction to Tablo (and as a result Epik High) was a collab he did with Eric Nam and Gallant called “Cave me In” that song is a masterpiece! Definitely suggest you checking it out if you’ve never heard it
The song just at the end of spoiler is "Happen Ending" its SO good you should check it out sometimeee because it's the what happens after rather than the build up to the break up

I've been loving the label view. such great choices!!!
epik high discography is sooo long and their lyrics are so tasteful and their interviews are hilarious. You are in for a treat.
Caitlin: they aren’t kpop they are hiphop
*cue Tablo*
Tablo: Mithra Jin the maknae of kpop… Tukutz the creator of kpop!
*cue Tablo at MIK Fest Kpop day*
😂😂😂
What you said is exactly what i think about it
Thank you Caitlin! YG has the best rappers indeed
EPIK HIGH ARE THE GOATSS! Their on a North American tour right now and I’m lucky enough to see them again and I can’t wait ❤❤ I recommend their show to anyone who wants to be amazed 😂😂😂
on Born Hater
Verbal Jint's background on the MV has law books due to his a law student before becoming rapper
and pre-debut Bobby & B.I 😭
Epik High’s lyrics are just pure art in itself. Such poets. I love Epik High. Shoebox is still one of my most fave albums ever
epik high is literally one of a kind! their lyrics are something you won’t find somewhere else.
Yes and Tablo spills a fun fact about the lyrics in BORN HATER
Erik High are lyrics geniuses, all their songs are great
I hope you'll react to them more. They are lyrical geniuses. Also their personalities are tip tier. I watch their interviews when I need a good laugh.
There are no skips in the Epik High discography! Their lyrics are so creative and impactful. They're pretty down to earth and chill guys too.
(I'm a huge Jacky/Jackson Wang fan and when they announced a collab on the recent album, strawberry, i just about died from happiness)
I recommend their Buzzfeed interviews to get to know them better, their personalities shine and I have a soft spot for Mithra and Tukutz who have to deal with Tablo's outrageousness, they really will kill him in his sleep one day, that man...
Also… not us having the same thoughts on the “i pave the way, for everyone that is paving the way!” SUCH A GOOD LINE!!
Thank you for caitlin! I'm a huge yg stan! Love your content as always❤
The way I screamed and giggled when I saw this came out 😂
They are great performers one of the best small venue shows I've ever seen. I love Epik High so much.
Their whole discography's really good, especially when you search up the lyrics. I listen to it every time that I could but whenever I watch lyric videos, the translations still blows my especially Tablo's Lesson tracks. Btw, a short fun fact, Tablo's called the "Lyrical Assassin" 😹
Thank you so much for reacting to them and enjoying the songs ❤
Epik high's music and lyrics are on another level
Epik high are truly one of the greatest artists in the world. Thanks for checking them out! Love your videos keep going🫶🏼
I was able to convince 2 of my friends to see them in chicago with me this year and I'm so excited.
god I love epik high SO much, their music is incredible fr fr
Epik high : Hate me, Up, Born hater, Happy Ending, is my fav song
Epik High are amazing. Great lyricists. Yoongi and Namjoon were inspired to become rappers by their first hit Fly. Both have worked with them now - Tablo featured on Indigo most recently. Tablo is a priceless jewel, he has a podcast in English. Amazing. So glad you are checking them out. OH! Best desk calendar ever.
im really lovin this new series, caitlin !!
Aside from the amazing musicality and genius lyricism - Epik High are also 3 of the funniest people you will ever see. Their concerts are 2/3 music 1/3 comedy show. When future Caitlin has time to explore Epik High some more, I suggest adding an interview of them into the mix.
i still get goosebumps hearing "i paved the way, for everyone that is paving the way" that shit is so real
Even though you don't know much about them, their energy and personalities are going to make you jump the hell out of you and have the best time ever ❤❤ They are the definition of showmen
I also would like to suggest you a few songs. Fly, it's the song that blow them up, a classic. Don't hate me, it's very fun and i think you're going to enjoy it a lot. And one of my personal favs, Rain Song. But all their songs are amazing. I suggest you to check some of their interviews too 🔥
Sorry for the rant and thank you again for your work 💖
Shoebox is my favorite album I had forgot about that, I'm glad that you choose spoiler.
The vocalist for Love Love Love is Yoongjin of the electronica duo Casker. Absolutely worth a listen if you ever feel the urge to check out something a little more obscure.
These guys are FIRE live. High energy and hilarious. I've watched them 2x when they were in Vancouver
I wish you also featured leehi. She is not in yg anymore but she debuted there and released some great songs under the label
Just caught Epik High in Orlando, seriously amazing show. They are just.....awe inspiring. I'm excited you have taken an listen. Xo
let me tell you, if you were in korea at early 2000s, that song Love Love Love was heard like EVERYWHERE.
Omg THANK you for checking out Epik high’s earlier tracks. They are soooo special.
not sure if anyone has mentioned this yet but the reason why every one of them had a different "set" in born hater is because they're each supposed to represent one of the 7 deadly sins, as follows:
dj tukutz: sloth
tablo: pride
beenzino (the one with the shoe boxes): envy
verbal jint (the one that comes in after beenzino): lust
mithra jin: gluttony
mino: wrath
bobby: greed
and b.i. is "the pure one", represented as a cleaner dressed in all white who's trying to clean up the mess all the others have made
also, i highly recommend you read the lyrics to this song! one of my favorites from them for a reason
YES EPIK HIGH !! Had finally a change to see them live this year at paris, have been a casual fan for years. It was dream come through!
omg i love epik high.
Especially Tablo OPPA!❤❤❤
Now you got me thinking who are the other artist you chose cause I know for sure (swear on ny grandmother’s grave) that you got Winner and Big Bang.
Every album has some note worthy features and they always kill it
If EPIK HIGH come's to your area go see them you won't regret it.
This series is so EPIK❤❤❤❤🤘🏻
Another group that I really really love. Thank you so mutch for reacting to them !
One is my favorite in their song thats iconic every online games include "one"
I wish that you'd also deep dive in KHipHop labels like AOMG, H1ghr music... they have great talented people... And maybe in the future dive into Kindie labels like Magic Strawberry Sound, you won't regret it!!
OMG! Epik High, especially Daniel Armand Lee.. the love of my life! Haha I so love you now Caitlin
YES YES YESSSSS you need to listen to more epik high
I just saw them a few days ago in Detroit, it was an AWESOME show. They are really good performers and it was just FUN. 😁💜
You’d love tablo’s solo album! He released it under YG so hopefully you can fit it into the series. But yea he’s such a lyricist
OH GOODDDD!! FINALLY YOU DO EPIK HIGH!!!
Love! Just waiting for Tablo to share/comment/mention this cos you know he’s always watching reactions😂
Definitely suggest you checking it out if you’ve never heard it
Epik High reminds me so much of the Black Eyed Peas type energy I love it
The song just at the end of spoiler is "Happen Ending" its SO good you should check it out sometimeee because it's the what happens after rather than the build up to the break up
This series are so much fun!! loll. I love Rosario too. It just hits you like nothing else. Can’t wait for the remaining 4 episodes!
