For insight Dinosaur is about the struggles they went through as a family. They weren’t privileged so they dealt with a lot of people coming to their house to get money from their parents hence the dinosaurs which were the bad people that came to their house.
Dinosaur used to be my feel good music and after reading this I don't think I'll feel good listening to it again. I guess I'll cry everytime I'll listen to it.

Finally AKMU!! I think ppl tend to forget that AKMU has been a part of YGE since 2013/2014. They are not typical YGE style, but at the same time their storytelling and FRESH music is also very YGE too despite being different from other YGE groups. Chanhyuk literally is a genius composer! My goodness the diverse genres that this guy produces is just INSANNEEE! Ohh so Caitlin, you watched their debut MVs backwards LOL! You were supposed to watch “200%” first and then “Give Love” was the continuation. But yeah Suhyun became infatuated with the guy (who is popular actor Nam Joo Hyuk, who at that time was just a YGE model not actor yet). Throughout 200% she’s living in her own world where it’s just her and the guy, but in reality the girl was there the whole time. Fast forward to Give Love, she befriends the girl to get closer to the guy..kind of competing for his attention. In the end, she finds out through the girl’s phone and text with the guy is that they are actually siblings..not a couple. Then you see their sibling energy (the hard pushing/teasing). Suhyun is relieved and makes her move on the guy, while Chanhyuk shows interests in the guy’s sister. 😂 Yep! Suhyun has a solo and Chanhyuk just had his solo debut and released a full solo album too. You can check it out on your free time. But yeah that is AKMU for you, they’re very well known, loved, and respected in SKOREA. Totally underrated internationally though, but again YGE doesn’t really promote them overseas/internationally. 😆

They are a breathe of fresh air in YG. :D Let me provide you some notes/clarifications on the MVs: The events of 200% MV happened before Give Love MV - In 200%, Suhyun was infuated with the guy unfortunately she got friendzoned. During the whole MV, Suhyun pretends to be the guy's girlfriend and temporarily forgets the girl in the scene. In Give Love, Suhyun plays the 3rd wheel, basically tagging along to the two wherever they go. The song/MV is basically asking to give them (akmu) love. In the end, Suhyun founds out that the girlfriend is actually the guy's sister. Chanyuk follows the girl at the end, the same manner as suhyun was. Dinosaur MV - it is about Chanhyuk's dream that a dinosaur wrecked their home. However, there is a theory that the dinosaur symbolizes the tax collectors that would go and make noise in their house every night when they lived in mongolia (they live there till kpop star). Dinosaur is rarely performed because the chorus is even difficult for suhyun to sing. Nevertheless, she can sing it live. Nakka MV - IU wasn't in the MV. :( Nakka meant Fall - it was more about promising to always be at the side of someone who is going through a hard time. In the MV, they say that if look at a different angle, falling down seems to be falling up. :))) Nakka Mv is somewhat connected to the other MVs in the Next Episode Album. (they made MVs for all of the songs in the album) Hope you can check out akmu's ballads - How Can I Love The Heartbreak, You're The One I Love, Melted, battlefield, and Last Goodbye are top tiers!!!

Hello Caitlin, the girl singing with Suhyun in "I'm Different" is Lee Hi, one of the most crazy voice of Korea. She was also a YG artist until 2019 but I'm not sure you included her in your label view
Suhyun has one of the most amazing, cleanest, and clearest voices I have ever heard. Her voice has a character of its own and it gives so much color to whatever song she's singing. And Chanhyuk is without a doubt such a great songwriter, and producer. He knows best how to use their voices to make a masterpiece. They truly are musicians. Them singing together sound so magical. I guess it's the blood relationship they have with each other that makes their performances so unexplainably marvelous. Lee hi is great she has a rnb jazzy soul vibe with great vocals. I recommend Only. She has 3 songs with B.i and they are all soo good. As for AKMU I recommend How Can I love the heartbreak you're the one I love, and Hey kid close your eyes. Those songs are stunning. Their solo stuff is fun as well

if you ever want to react/listen to them again, I can highly recommend: Melted Hey Kid, close your eyes and honestly all of the new Collaboration Album that one was mindchanging for me. Also they sang Nakka with IU on IUs Palette which is beautiful! And Chanhyuks solo Panorama is great to. I feel like he has evolved a lot musically in revent years and I‘m loving their new sound and especially their „darker“ songs!

Great music from great talents! I am a Dinosaur enthusiast. I remembered when Dinosaur MV teasers came out - I seriously wondered what the heck they're going to sing about. Then when I watched the MV and read the lyrics - I was bawling. The bridge of this song is perfection. There were many "theories" on what the song is about - but I think it can be interpreted in any way. Which makes it more beautiful and brilliant. It's really one of my favorite songs ever. it's nice to see their growth when they sing those old songs as adults now. their song melted sounds really different from their performance when they were kids to when they performed it again a year or so ago. lee hi and suhyun also performed i'm different again a couple of years ago and it was great to see how they've grown up to be such talented women
yay, so glad you reacted to their videos, love AKMU since Kpop star. if anybody reading this is also new to akmu - you should totally watch their audition video, the entire audience fell in love with them straight away. also, more recently, since chanhyuk got released from the military, they went to the show knowing brother and literally wrote songs on the spot based on random book pages. the talent they have is unreal

OH MY GOOOOD I LOVE AKMU! In fact, they're the reason why I'm interested in K-Artists in the first place. My friend rec them to me back in 2017 and I've been a fan ever since. I think they're still underappreciated especially outside of South Korea. Both are amazing performers. Suhyun is one of the best voice of Korean female singer in my opinion and Chanhyuk is literally a genius composer. They have great lyrics and NOT EVEN ONE BAD SONG. They sit on a table together with BTS (my utl group) as highly talented and artistic artists in my vocabulary!

I love the fact that you asked "is it the same group???" while listening to NAKKA, and you're right. NAKKA was released after Chanhyuk's enlistment, while the rest of the songs before it. So it makes sense that their sound changed and matured A LOT after he returned back from enlistment. He talked about how it influenced him. 'Sailing' - the album released after he returned, is still one of my very favourite albums of aaaaaall artists I know.
Akmu are soooo naturally talented 😭Lee Su Hyuns vocals are crazy good live too. Not offended at all with the Mamamoo comparison bc they're both great live and their retro/jazz vibes are perfection. there's an idea for Dinosaur, that the song tells of their childhood memories when creditors were lashing out at their homes (basement villa is usually the lowest level of a house that gets rented out for cheap), and because they were kids, the shouting was like a dinosaur :") hit me RIGHT IN THE HEART
Actually 200% goes first then Give Love ~ lol its a continuation of the previous MV.. Actually in "200%" suhyun had a crush on Nam Joo Hyuk (The actor on the MV) .. and she thought he was dating the actress on the MV.. then on the "Give Love" MV she kept being the third wheel .. then around the end she saw the Actress' phone and found out that Nam Joo Hyuk and the Girl actress were siblings.. That's why she was super happy ... and around the end Chanhyuk ends up doing what his sister is doing, now going after the girl Actress 😂

I'm so happy to see you enjoying AKMU so much! Their early songs just have this happy and refreshing sound to them, that you just can't help but vibe to! I've been following their carrer for a very long time, and I'm really glad that the industry has been quite kind to them music-wise. All of their songs have been quite popular in Korea - just proving how musically talented both of them are, and I really can't wait to see what else they will put out in the future.

I'll always be happy to see people discovering Akmu. When you deep dive into their music you can't get out. They have such an amazing discography, I recommend you listen to " how can I live the heartbreak you're the one I love" the whole album is ballad and so beautiful. Also other songs of "next episode " album are so good. The girl in the first song "lee hi" is an amazing solo artist she left yg afew years ago but she's doing amazing solo now. Naaka has a live performance of akmu and iu. They were guest in iu's pallate show and performed it amazingly with live band. Another fun thing about akmu, they're so talented that in a TV show called "knowing brothers" they turned random sentences of random books into songs without any practice It was so fun and amazing

Aww this makes me miss hitech and crazy dancers old days. Now these dancers are already dance mentor/choreographers of yg and has their own company ygx.. its just amazing how i witness these dancers grew up with bigbang and other yg artist, some of them have their own families already.

Others have explained some of the MVs in other comments so I'll just tack on some more info about AKMU! Chanhyuk is extremely respected in SK as a musician, a soldier, and an author. He enlisted relatively early into their career voluntarily into the Marine Corps and is a senior in that branch to others like SHINee's Minho, U-Kiss's Hoon, and Infinite's Myungsoo. As for being an author, during the album prep for 'Sailing' (2019), their A&R asked him to write the backstory/process for the songs and what went through his head while writing/producing and it became so involved that he decided to just make it into a full-fledged connected novel that ended up being a best-seller of 2019! Immensely talented man & of course we can't forget how talented Suhyun is as well! Def hope you can react to them more in the future whenever you can manage to get them in eventually, we know you're busy and grinding away girl! This reaction to them was such a nice treat, especially seeing you enjoying them so much! Also def need to add in the promo for Lee Hi (other half of Hi Suhyun from the first MV) if you haven't already planned her for your (former) YG lineup -- woman has such a unique identifiable voice & has put out great hits and collabs over the years.

I haven’t been actively listening to AKMU much for these past several months but whenever I hear any of their songs, they never fail to bring back memories from my high school years (i’m a graduating college student now). Their songs, especially Give Love, have that nostalgic, positive, and healing charm to them.

not sure if you have figured out the meaning behind Dinosaur by now but it's a term that koreans use to refer to dept collectors. their familiy struggled a lot financially when they were kids and obviously these people weren't the nicest. So this is what the song is about.

The collaboration album Nakka is on had mvs for all the songs, and those kids sitting on the ground were also heavily featured in the mv for Hey Kid, Close Your Eyes (also known as Battlefield) that was a collab between AKMU and the legendary Korean singer Lee Sun Hee. If you end up eventually doing another video for AKMU, that song, Melted, How can I love the heartbreak you’re the one I love, and Re-Bye would be some solid choices.

During the whole MV, Suhyun pretends to be the guy's girlfriend and temporarily forgets the girl in the scene. In Give Love, Suhyun plays the 3rd wheel, basically tagging along to the two wherever they go. The song/MV is basically asking to give them (akmu) love. In the end, Suhyun founds out that the girlfriend is actually the guy's sister. Chanyuk follows the girl at the end, the same manner as suhyun was.
Dinosaur MV - it is about Chanhyuk's dream that a dinosaur wrecked their home. However, there is a theory that the dinosaur symbolizes the tax collectors that would go and make noise in their house every night when they lived in mongolia (they live there till kpop star). Dinosaur is rarely performed because the chorus is even difficult for suhyun to sing. Nevertheless, she can sing it live.
Nakka MV - IU wasn't in the MV. :( Nakka meant Fall - it was more about promising to always be at the side of someone who is going through a hard time. In the MV, they say that if look at a different angle, falling down seems to be falling up. :))) Nakka Mv is somewhat connected to the other MVs in the Next Episode Album. (they made MVs for all of the songs in the album)

Yes Akmu' ballads are very well crafted and produced. I also love all Suhyun solo work including the BeginAgain shows. One of my favourite ever songs is her version of "If I Leave".. its haunting...

Hello Caitlin, the girl singing with Suhyun in "I'm Different" is Lee Hi, one of the most crazy voice of Korea. She was also a YG artist until 2019 but I'm not sure you included her in your label view
Suhyun has one of the most amazing, cleanest, and clearest voices I have ever heard. Her voice has a character of its own and it gives so much color to whatever song she's singing. And Chanhyuk is without a doubt such a great songwriter, and producer. He knows best how to use their voices to make a masterpiece. They truly are musicians. Them singing together sound so magical. I guess it's the blood relationship they have with each other that makes their performances so unexplainably marvelous. Thank you so much for reacting to them ❤️

Lee hi is great she has a rnb jazzy soul vibe with great vocals. I recommend Only. She has 3 songs with B.i and they are all soo good. As for AKMU I recommend How Can I love the heartbreak you're the one I love, and Hey kid close your eyes. Those songs are stunning. Their solo stuff is fun as well

on give love and 200% the other girl isn't the guy's girlfriend but his sister 😂 the right order to watch the MV is 200% first and then Give Love, on the end of Give Love, Suhyun found out that the guy he likes and the other girl are siblings (just a fact the guy playing on both give love and 200% is Nam Joohyuk an actor under YG, but left the entertainment long ago)

Great music from great talents! I am a Dinosaur enthusiast. I remembered when Dinosaur MV teasers came out - I seriously wondered what the heck they're going to sing about. Then when I watched the MV and read the lyrics - I was bawling. The bridge of this song is perfection.
There were many "theories" on what the song is about - but I think it can be interpreted in any way. Which makes it more beautiful and brilliant. It's really one of my favorite songs ever. Thank you for this AKMU reaction.💕
it's nice to see their growth when they sing those old songs as adults now. their song melted sounds really different from their performance when they were kids to when they performed it again a year or so ago. lee hi and suhyun also performed i'm different again a couple of years ago and it was great to see how they've grown up to be such talented women
yay, so glad you reacted to their videos, love AKMU since Kpop star. if anybody reading this is also new to akmu - you should totally watch their audition video, the entire audience fell in love with them straight away. also, more recently, since chanhyuk got released from the military, they went to the show knowing brother and literally wrote songs on the spot based on random book pages. the talent they have is unreal

OH MY GOOOOD I LOVE AKMU! In fact, they're the reason why I'm interested in K-Artists in the first place. My friend rec them to me back in 2017 and I've been a fan ever since. I think they're still underappreciated especially outside of South Korea. Both are amazing performers. Suhyun is one of the best voice of Korean female singer in my opinion and Chanhyuk is literally a genius composer. They have great lyrics and NOT EVEN ONE BAD SONG. They sit on a table together with BTS (my utl group) as highly talented and artistic artists in my vocabulary!

I love the fact that you asked "is it the same group???" while listening to NAKKA, and you're right. NAKKA was released after Chanhyuk's enlistment, while the rest of the songs before it. So it makes sense that their sound changed and matured A LOT after he returned back from enlistment. He talked about how it influenced him. 'Sailing' - the album released after he returned, is still one of my very favourite albums of aaaaaall artists I know.

200% will always have a special place in my heart as it was the song that got me into K-pop.
there's an idea for Dinosaur, that the song tells of their childhood memories when creditors were lashing out at their homes (basement villa is usually the lowest level of a house that gets rented out for cheap), and because they were kids, the shouting was like a dinosaur :") hit me RIGHT IN THE HEART
Actually 200% goes first then Give Love ~ lol its a continuation of the previous MV.. Actually in "200%" suhyun had a crush on Nam Joo Hyuk (The actor on the MV) .. and she thought he was dating the actress on the MV.. then on the "Give Love" MV she kept being the third wheel .. then around the end she saw the Actress' phone and found out that Nam Joo Hyuk and the Girl actress were siblings.. That's why she was super happy ... and around the end Chanhyuk ends up doing what his sister is doing, now going after the girl Actress 😂

I've been following their carrer for a very long time, and I'm really glad that the industry has been quite kind to them music-wise. All of their songs have been quite popular in Korea - just proving how musically talented both of them are, and I really can't wait to see what else they will put out in the future.
Akmu is another korean group/duo that sounds so much better live. I hope you dive into them because they have SO songs that I know you'll love like Happening and Melted. Omg definitely Melted. I bet you'll cry.

They have such an amazing discography, I recommend you listen to " how can I live the heartbreak you're the one I love" the whole album is ballad and so beautiful. Also other songs of "next episode " album are so good. The girl in the first song "lee hi" is an amazing solo artist she left yg afew years ago but she's doing amazing solo now. Naaka has a live performance of akmu and iu. They were guest in iu's pallate show and performed it amazingly with live band. Another fun thing about akmu, they're so talented that in a TV show called "knowing brothers" they turned random sentences of random books into songs without any practice

Aww this makes me miss hitech and crazy dancers old days. Now these dancers are already dance mentor/choreographers of yg and has their own company ygx.. its just amazing how i witness these dancers grew up with bigbang and other yg artist, some of them have their own families already.

Chanhyuk is extremely respected in SK as a musician, a soldier, and an author. He enlisted relatively early into their career voluntarily into the Marine Corps and is a senior in that branch to others like SHINee's Minho, U-Kiss's Hoon, and Infinite's Myungsoo. As for being an author, during the album prep for 'Sailing' (2019), their A&R asked him to write the backstory/process for the songs and what went through his head while writing/producing and it became so involved that he decided to just make it into a full-fledged connected novel that ended up being a best-seller of 2019! Immensely talented man & of course we can't forget how talented Suhyun is as well!

I haven’t been actively listening to AKMU much for these past several months but whenever I hear any of their songs, they never fail to bring back memories from my high school years (i’m a graduating college student now). Their songs, especially Give Love, have that nostalgic, positive, and healing charm to them.

not sure if you have figured out the meaning behind Dinosaur by now but it's a term that koreans use to refer to dept collectors. their familiy struggled a lot financially when they were kids and obviously these people weren't the nicest. So this is what the song is about.
