- Dollar General trailer driver lost control, clipped pole, and ran. He was so lucky there wasn't someone going the other way. He was caught a few miles up the road by PA State Police.

The Dollar General truck did an amazing recovery after going off BOTH sides of the road.
Lucky. Maybe next time they'll leave the cell phone alone
Yeah but what about the load. That didn’t fare so well.
still be considered as wreckless driving. why? cus it is!
And I hear he kept his high score on Mario Cart too…
@@brettwalker5446had to been near empty to move so quick, maybe?
When he gets to his dollar-general destination store, he'll find out that the store lost power for some reason.
Yep, and anyone helping him unload the truck in the dark is gonna be like, “WTF happened and why is EVERYTHING thrown about inside this trailer!!! And yet, most likely, neither will put two and two together, until the cops show up at the Dollar General looking for the driver of a semi-truck with a severely damaged trailer!!!
You guys are too much! Haha Those were pretty good ones!
@@Trakehner20 Lol. Thanks buddy. I comment stuff all the time, here on UA-cam, in response to others comments in an attempt to be funny, but some folks that comment afterwards just don’t get it and it’s evident in their replies. I mean, it’s pretty funny on my end, or at least I thought so, when I was typing it out so I’m not so sure what changed exactly. However, I have a very strong gut feeling that it isn’t so much me and my comedic value and/or my portfolio of work, but really more so, all of the “I ain’t got no sense of humor, boy”, stick in the mud types that I am working with, so from the very start, I’m working with an 0-2 pitch as my first pitch of my at bat… if that makes sense. Lmao.
@@jongoin4404 Haha, well that's probably the best reply I've had in awhile! People don't want to do the "hard work" of trying to get things sometimes. They just shrug and go on. That's people today I think in general as well.
There’s a “Doller Gentral” every 7 miles, so he should be easy to track down.
I'm more surprised how quickly the driver stopped.
Word on the street is he got that scared apparently he ran away and a farmer near by found him hiding under his patio shaking in his slippers
@@carloscastianothe power lines were down, you’re telling me you wouldn’t immediately get away from power lines?
You are aware vehicles are made of conductive materials right?
@RoastFlea61 very scary
@@carloscastiano I mean you touch a power line for half a second and it could kill you but ok, good luck in life with your smooth brain.
@@RoastFlea61 I did, as soon as i stopped my truck.
I can bet $$$ that, that driver had NO IDEA he hit a pole. He was poopin his britches too hard to look in the mirror !!!
Fell asleep, most likely..
Smartphone most likely
Yep, I was going to say, “most likely distracted by his phone”!!!
BS
Phone!
Truckers don't get much sleep. Same with train conductors (Even though good sleep is essential to health and focus )
Lucky there was no on coming traffic.
That pole had NO business being that close to the road!
Stupid pole.
Well, cars aren’t supposed to be off the road so…
What are you even talking about. Someone is always triggered about something shits pathetic
That’s pretty normal distance…
Tough road being long and straight
😂😂😂😂
That did not cause this, it was that sharp drop off the edge of the road! One his wheels went over the edge, it took over everything!
Yeah but he had two sets of Wheels you really got to fuk up to get to both sets off
In fairness, I've been on some of those farm roads where there is washout underneath the edge, several feet across the road, and that long straight road has a super sudden dip to the shoulder, that you never saw change on the horizon... it can throw you off balance and maybe cause this.
Slowing down is always an option
That's not pole clipping its pretty much a dead on hit!! Definitely hit and run though.
Maybe he didn’t notice ?
@@davidmulhall2710 🤣
@@davidmulhall2710 The extremely poor quality of truck drivers today makes your statement a real possibility.
Any trailer contact is just a clip, not a hit unless you use the tractor

Dude just drifted off the road. Looking at his phone maybe?
Easy to fall asleep behind a wheel.

What the Hades is going on with truckers? We've had incidents lately of unlicensed, alien driver around here lately that have got me spooked. I don't trust truckers anymore.
@@rcnelson nobody wants to do the job. It’s easily the worst job in America
@@rcnelsonyou have answered you own question!!!! Used to be the trucking industry was heavily monitored, with rules, regulations and training!!! Now, the only qualification you need is to be breathing, they put you behind the wheel of these things and tell you to go !!!!!

Nothing to do with luck ! Cam driver was being observant, also sticking to the 2 second rule instead of tailgating.
It's not luck it is good driving you aren't supposed to be riding the arse of the vehicle in front

From Dollar General!😅
That dollar general driver was like no one will notice! Just keep on truckin!😂
Dollar General lol. Probably not going too far down the road. They are only about 5 moles apart anymore.
Hell yeah. They have a Dollar General on Gilligan's Island now.
5 moles and a gopher.
The Mole People
But now that contents all has to be sold to dollar tree 😆
@@nameless-og It's Dollar and a quarter tree now.
The overhead primary conductors are carrying serious juice. Back away!
That trailer is definitely packing damage now. Wouldn't take much of an investigation to identify the driver.
Except so called "law enforcement" doesn't investigate anything nowadays
@@brianp454 Nobody reads the descriptions. Too busy criticizing a profession they know nothing about.
@@tsalagiman Oh, you presume to know what others know and don't know? And how do you come to this conclusion? This is exactly why I commented on this. You made no attempt to find the facts and only seek to fix the blame. If you want to know what is wrong with our society, go look in the mirror

The sad part is that this is not usually grounds for firing for most companies. But the fact he hit and ran, means he could lose his cdl.
Next time DO NOT get out of your vehicle. Thats exactly how people get electrocuted. You’re safe in the vehicle since it’s a Faraday cage.
Thanks for that.Hopefully there wont be a next time.I gave it a look around, and getting out ,although wrong seemed like the right descision.
DAMN !!!!! Dude was extremely lucky not to have flipped that thing !!!!!!
Dollar General logo on the truck makes perfect sense.
I'm surprised he didn't turn over.
See Blinking or flashing lights up the road as it was driving awey?
Glad you're a driver and not a wheel holder. You know the ones that follow like it is Nascar drifting.
Thank you Phil.
Interesting …everybody wants your clip, maybe the guy in front fell asleep ? And the pole woke him up…
Feel bad for the pole!
PA272, I had a grain truck flip in front of me a few months ago. It was about a half mile behind were your video starts. Crossed over the creek and going up the hill on the curve were Kirk’s mill rd comes in his trailer tires went off the edge and pulled him over.
Wow a dash cam is priceless
Never get out of your vehicle when power lines are down!
For a brief moment: forbidden limbo stick.
Crumbs, the guy on the gator doesnt have a clue how lucky he was.
Dollar General trailer. What company was under the load? Or are you protecting them?
I doubt he even knew he hit the pole. He was probably just relieved he was able to recover it without hitting another vehicle.
The wires on the left side of the road are bouncing a bit too
Now THAT is a tank slapper!
This is what happens when you don't want to pay for a professional.
Somebody's in deep shit! The truck following was
alert and on top of things.
Anyone know what company logo is on the trailer?
Werner is the most likely culprit. Dollar General is their biggest account.

Hello george vasques,,,can I use this clip in my compilation? Any comment what happened? Thanks
Yes you may. It's just as described. In the end he drives off. 45 minutes later after firemen secured the scene I left. Driver was 3 miles up the road getting a good talking to by PSP.
Hi george vasques. Good to use it? Full credited.
Any update?
Yes to usung it.. 45 minutes later hes was being interviewed by PA State Police. Another hour later he was still there,no police, truck showed no obvious damage.
If he missed the fact that he clipped a pole hard enough to break it he realized it when he stopped next and looked at his trailer. I tend to think he knew it because he should certainly have looked in his mirrors once he got straight again. He would have been able to see some of the devastation he left behind as well as the driver behind him stopped in the road. Good chance he kept going to avoid all that comes with getting caught. I have about 15 years of long haul in my earlier days and so I have some experience over the road with semi trucks.
Looks like New Berlin road as soon as I saw it but its not?
RT 272 Nottingham Rd, just north of Pine Grove Rd.
:30 - the old lady getting her mail could have been the victim....
Gotta love them country roads and no shoulders
Thank you law enforcement. they got him a few miles up the road. ❤
No shoulder on that road.
If that pole isn’t there, he’s a rollover, the hit was the only thing that kept him upright. Near the end of the video, are they police lights flashing in the distance, or the wires shorting out?
Appears to be a car with LED headlights coming toward the camera. I’ve noticed on a lot of dash cam vids that for some reason LED lights appear to flicker. No idea why that is.
@@djplayskeys Just guessing but it might have to do with the refresh rate of the the LED headlights and the frame rate of the camera?
@@djplayskeys likewise.... probably because of so many different angles of chrome behind the lens...whereas old headlights were round or rectangle...just saying
No, the oncoming driver was trying to get his attention. Driver stopped for not very long and took off.
I've not driven semi much but I've heard There is a trailer wand. A hand operated trailer only brake that I've heard you may need to use to put the trailer back behind the tractor. He may have used it. For passenger car drivers it's probably not understandable, but it's supposed to help in exactly that scenario. ( I think)
I've noticed this happens often in dash cam clips I have watched with this type of road with no shoulder.
The pavement acts like a rail if you drop the steer tire off it if there's no gravel on the side to at least level the ground to the hight of the pavement.
Trucker kept on Truckin
And people wonder why everything is $1.25 now.
Hello there! Is it okay if I feature your clip in my compilation? Full credited ofc.
yes
@@shroomhauler Thank you for the authorization.
Truck drivers should have to lock their phones in the toolbox before they ever get behind the wheel. This recklessness is happening much too often.
I was going to say before I saw him hit it… in his defense there was no where to pullover safely… but after seeing he already found a spot on the other side, he just needed to stop
Or stay stopped.
I thought that trailer was going to bust into a few sections, good save though.
Driver's face like this 😳 for the next few hours.
Trooper: “Sir, how could you possibly have not noticed hitting a telephone pole?”
Trucker: “Because I was on my telephone”.
Trooper: “Fair enough. Now please step out of the vehicle and put your hands on the fender well. Do you have anything that could poke me, stick me, hurt me? You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law. You have the right to an attorney. If you cannot afford one, you will be provided with a public defender by the state. Do you understand these rights as I have spoke? Watch your head”
His company will notice that right away especially if it has a dash cam.
Good thing Dollar General sells toilet paper, cause that driver is gonna need a roll or two.
0:32 …..you’re welcome

Pole is too close to the road, imagine a motorcyclist hitting that, same with cable cutters on interstates, deadly to bikes.
This is why DG has low, low prices.
Dude was too busy shitting his pants to realize he hit the pole.

That road is plenty wide. It gets a lot of truck traffic. Its just very unforgiving to people who choose to not be present and in control.
That’s crazy
