My dad was a postman for 43 yrs and member of the National Assoc Letter Carriers. He passed away in 2020 but the NALC are still paying all of my moms healthcare bills. They really take care of their letter carriers and their families
NALC covered every penny of my dad’s chemo treatments before his passing. Every two weeks of chemo was a $40k bill. Coverage is changing for spouses of deceased NALC retirees in 2025, we’ll see what happens.
How nice that the widows are being take care of too !!! What a wonderful way to help their families. Sure hope that continues Thank your dad's in heaven now for their service in their community

You should go to Milwaukee around the end of June and the beginning of July when Summerfest is underway. That will blow your mind. Summerfest is the most amazing music festival in the world. Seven main stages with seven headliners going on at the same time plus an amphitheater with a superstar playing at the same time. On top of that amazing food and seven beer gardens.
I’m originally from Milwaukee… love that you’re getting to take in the sites around downtown Milwaukee. Usingers (the “g” is a hard “g”) is absolutely wonderful… fond memories of stopping there with a mom as kid, and ALWAYsa stop when I’m back in town. The Wisconsin cheese Mart next door is great. You were right by the Milwaukee Historical Society (on the river at 2nd and Kilbourn… by Hyatt hotel, and American League founding spot) is really cool to check out, and was a filming location for the film “Dilliinger”. Also the part of the freeway downtown by the lakefront was used asa filming location for the Blues Brothers movie (car chase scene with the Nazis where they jump off end of then uncompleted freeway, and land in Chicago). The 3rd Ward is old warehouse district (burned down in 1891), now full of upscale condos, bars and restaurants, and very cool Milwaukee Public Market. The Art Museum on lakefront at end of Wisconsin Ave. was one of Biggest Santiago Calatrava commissions…. TheHarley Davidson museum is over on 6th Street. So much more I could add… love my hometown! (I live in Dunedin, FL near Tampa-St. Pete now)! Enjoy the Rays-Brewers game(s)… Asa lifelong Brewers fan, Wish I could be there to join you… Be sure to tailgate before the game, if the weather is decent. At least, the Brewers ballpark has a retractable roof if still chilly / rainy at game time…. Roof open when it’s nice! ❤️

@@evonnewilson1073 It's already begun construction. The old one is too big and the maintenance costs are too high; they're literally spending less to construct the new one than they would to renovate the old. The Streets will not move over, at least not wholly, but they're making a new one.
Hello Adam. Happy to know that you got some rest after Saturdays events. The Milwaukee area has a lot of unique history. Our parents took us there a few times back in the 1950s.( telling how old we are.) Thank you for strolling around the town and visiting with the birds! If you fly out of the Milwaukee airport, definitely check out the used bookstore there! I think it might be the only major airport with a used bookstore.
I have been wanting Adam to visit Milwaukee for a while. It’s nice to see that he stopped in. I would recommend that he come back for Summer Fest. I’d also recommend that he visit the Milwaukee Public Museum or the Milwaukee County Zoo.
I feel like all the youtubers always visit Milwaukee on a day when everything is closed and the weather is bad. We have America's largest music festival and is also nicknamed festival city for all of our festivals. You missed out on ALOT!
My father worked for the Joseph Schlitz Brewing Company between 1973 and 1976 as a Sales Representative in Milwaukee. We lived just north in Cedarburg. A small town you should take a tour through Adam. Think you'll really like it.
I love to wander around in my fair city, can always find something new/interesting. The Public Market has a really good coffee place, Anodyne (also a really yummy cookie place…..they go together perfectly 🙃). Hope you enjoy Am. Fam Field and the baseball game tonight.
Don't know if someone already said it, but the A's were originally started in Philadelphia. we had both an American and National league team here for many years 'til the A's moved.
Was in Milwaukee in 2003, went to 3 Braves vs. Brewers games, and stayed at the Hilton with the water park. Had a really good time. It was also the 100 Anniversary of Harley, Davidson, a lot of bikes were around.
Oh I hope you get to visit the Harley Davidson museum. One of the best museums I’ve ever visited. And I’m not a huge bike person, but it’s so beautifully done.
When Fonzie lived in Milwaukee he always wore a white t-shirt and a leather jacket. If it got too cold he added a scarf. In California he wore the leather jacket with shorts on the beach. 👍Aaaaay!
Connie Mack Jr. were our neighbors in Fort Myers. My older brothers went to school with his son, another Connie Mack. I remember going to their house just about every weekend and seeing Connie Mack's huge portrait over the fireplace. Nice tour of the city.
Hey Adam, welcome to Milwaukee! My husband and I maybe kind of sort of stopped down yesterday to see if we could run into you and buy you a coffee as we felt so bad that the weather was so rotten. You went to every place we walked by, so close, dang it! We are in the process of selling our current home & moving into a new home so it's the waiting game atm while everything works out. Even though we didn't get to meet you, we were so thankful to be out of the house and keeping our minds busy with something way less stressful. Thanks for visiting our great city, kind of a lot of weirdos down there yesterday, but nonetheless they are typically very friendly weirdos. That Third Street Market used to be The Grand Avenue mall but they have since "reimagined" the space and turned it into apartments and that market you walked through. There are cat walks that connect all the buildings down there, it's kind of a really neat thing to do especially when it's cold out. One of these days maybe our paths will cross and we can purchase a piping hot caffeinated drink for you. Be well and enjoy the game, the stadium is absolutely stunning and a lot of heart and hard work was put into it. Much love to you! 🥰

Thoughts after watching this. Adam the woo you are brave. Those sirens are most definitely the sounds of Milwaukee. There’s is/was a wonderful community of straight edge/ hard core when I was young, we would all be in our 40s and 50s 😅 Not sure about the youngins. It was 75 on Saturday and 45 Sunday which is typical. Some old friends of mine own a place called X-ray arcade might be cool to check out.
next time you visit Wisconsin and Milwaukee area, drive about 30 minutes (about 30 miles) south on Interstate 94 towards Illinois, you will find a castle, Mars Cheese Castle at exit 340. I am sure you will find it awesome. Also, visit downtown Kenosha, Wisconsin for more sculptures and several museums and ride the trolley when it is warmer out. I know this because I live in Kenosha, Wisconsin. There is also some sand dunes just south of the city of Kenosha called Kenosha Dunes. Come back to Wisconsin soon.

The Warner Theater was purchased by the Milwaukee Symphony in 2018, or thereabouts, and for no less than $100 million they transformed it into their new concert hall, the Bradley Symphony Center. The sign and marquee are replicas of the originals, which were destroyed long ago. Also, the theater where Theodore Roosevelt gave his famous post-shooting speech still stands, now called the Miller High Life Theatre, it's just up the block to the west from where the incident happened.

The large noisy duct was for WE Energies electrical transmission and/or central steam heating, single pipe from the big (coal fired) powerplant (dual smokestacks, in the valley)
You became your own municipal art installation at the end :) That was great. What a handsome city : no grafitti or litter; all the brick buildings looking like new; I didn't notice any vacant retail premises; and fantastic and plentiful street art. They should be proud of their city. I've nevef seen Pabst Blue Ribbon in real life here in Europe, but anytime I hear it mentioned I think of Frank ... 😲

So true. My dad had 33 years in. Retired in '92, passed away in '20. Between Medicare and the Postal benefits Mom is covered extremely well.

I love the 80s toys and things in the food hall. Cool old buildings as well.

next time you visit Wisconsin and Milwaukee area, drive about 30 minutes (about 30 miles) south on Interstate 94 towards Illinois, you will find a castle, Mars Cheese Castle at exit 340. I am sure you will find it awesome. Also, visit downtown Kenosha, Wisconsin for more sculptures and several museums and ride the trolley when it is warmer out. I know this because I live in Kenosha, Wisconsin. There is also some sand dunes just south of the city of Kenosha called Kenosha Dunes. Come back to Wisconsin soon.

The Warner Theater was purchased by the Milwaukee Symphony in 2018, or thereabouts, and for no less than $100 million they transformed it into their new concert hall, the Bradley Symphony Center. The sign and marquee are replicas of the originals, which were destroyed long ago. Also, the theater where Theodore Roosevelt gave his famous post-shooting speech still stands, now called the Miller High Life Theatre, it's just up the block to the west from where the incident happened.

The large noisy duct was for WE Energies electrical transmission and/or central steam heating, single pipe from the big (coal fired) powerplant (dual smokestacks, in the valley)

What a handsome city : no grafitti or litter; all the brick buildings looking like new; I didn't notice any vacant retail premises; and fantastic and plentiful street art. They should be proud of their city. I've nevef seen Pabst Blue Ribbon in real life here in Europe, but anytime I hear it mentioned I think of Frank ... 😲
