I bought this as my first propane grill. It's been a fun, learning experience ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . I think it's a bit too pricey after looking at other grills, but it wasn't hard to put together and it works really well. I love the side burner option for heating food during a power outage. I have an electric stove and live in the South (Hurricane season), so this was a bonus. I also bought a cover for it and it has protected it nicely (the Char Broil All-Season Grill Cover 3-4 Burner: Large). Every few grill sessions, I take the rack (or grate) and burner covers off and clean them with a non-abrasive scrubby and mild soap. I wipe the excess off of the bottom as well, taking care to avoid the gas and pilot lines.
I always enjoy your straightforward way of teaching. The hen came out great! Had to make another JUST my daughter because she got hopped the first time!
So I tried this for our thanksgiving dinner...and it worked just as you instructed!!! The 2 Cornish hens were wonderful! Also it was the first item I cooked without the little grate in it... and the Foodi cleaned up perfectly too! I did brine my hens for 3 hours prior to cooking... but it was so fast and good! We’re going to do a repeat for Christmas dinner! Thanks!
I made this and they came out delicious. My husband loved it and I honestly was really impressed of how flavorful and good it came out. Thanks a lot for sharing 👏🏻❤️
going to make that tomorrow with wild rice and broccoli, going to use orange marinade on the Cornish hen love using my foodi grill and the ninja foodi and your hens look great
Any reason you did not use the grill’s temperature probe? I use it all the time and the double check with another thermometer. Making just one for dinner today. Be well.
This will be the first meal I'll try with my new Ninja 4 in 1 on Thanksgiving. Putting non still foil in the pan sounds like a great idea. Can't wait to try it out. Yum!
@@pressurecrisp Best & juiciest game hens ever! Only took about 35 minutes to perfection. So glad I tried it with those, & will be meal planning with many more recipes. We had an excellent Thanksgiving. ♥
I received my Ninja Foodi Grill a few days ago and made these yesterday for a family that has a daughter in the hospital. They came out great! Thanks for the great videos!
fantastic...i could literally taste the flavors and ingredients you included, great touch with the lemon including the skin! once the quarentine is over i hope to see cornish hens back in the stores. i will use your recipe in my ninja. i think i will cover the bottom of the cooking pan with that non stick aluminum foil . btw: i live the foodi so much that i bought another one and am keeping it new in the box on standby.
Sandra thank you so much! I used a different brand this time-it was Tyson and these were great! Very moist I fact super moist compared to the other hens I purchased a few weeks ago.
When trussing, you should cross the legs, you want everything as tight as it possibly can be or you might as well not do it at all. I even take a toothpick and skewer the neck skin to sew it tight together and keep all the steam inside the bird.
Missed this video when it first came out. Looks fantastic Lisa!. Would the hens fit in on a low trivet or roasting rack to keep the hens out of the juices and make the skin crispier?
Unfortunately they won't I tried the breast would hit the screen. I wish the grill was like 1-2 inches deeper-maybe in the future. The skin on top was really crispy. but the bottom was a bit moist. They were very tasty! Thanks WayneAnstey!
Hi Lisa, you could presumably just use small chickens then as I have never heard of cornish game hens or is that a silly question? I loved the stuff you put inside and the way you showed how to do that butter - awesome!!
It’s just young chickens- make it female. It’s a cross between a Cornish and a white Plymouth Rock. I had to look it up lol. I like to stuff the butter under skin bastes the breast gives it really good flavor. Thanks David!
Have u made the STUFFED HENS at all yet?I got a couple from the meat dept. fer an awesome deal the other day, but have never made one in the oven muchless my Foodi or Foodi Grill so...🤔🤪😝🤤
If I can find some smaller ones as it. will be very close if not touching the screen. I'll pick up a few this weekend and give it a try. but I could use the grill function and not use the grill grate. Thanks Stephanie!
Another foundation video. Like. I said(lol) once you get your times down for individual items then you can start making whole meals in your Ninja Foodi Grill! Stay tuned for stuffed Cornish game hens and also a whole meal of Cornish game hens, potatoes and a veg all made in the Ninja Foodi Grill! What vegetable would you like with your Cornish hen? Comment below.
Too close to the heating element-I did this a few weeks. ago and found placing them in the bottom works the best for me. But next time I would spray some oil. It didn't happen the last time I made these. thanks Michael!
I'm going to. be on the road starting tomorrow-then stopping in Moab for a few days then make my way. back to. NY-so won't be home until around the 20th of July. Sometime after that. Thanks Stephanie.
That’s great! So many recipes to do lol. Using the air crisp would probably crisp them up better and may cook them faster. Think I’ll pick up a few more to ply with. My father and brother are to tell me not to make them for a year lol. Think I have cooked around 6-8 of them lol
Lisa your name isn't Tommy Cooper it's Lisa Schumaker lol. Tommy Cooper was a much loved comedian here in the UK and his catchphrase was just like that lol

Thank you Romere! It's hit or miss at my supermarkets-trying to find certain meats. Great idea using the aluminum foil for easy clean up.
Lisa, they look awesome! I am hungry just looking at them. Thanks!❤️❤️
Sandra thank you so much! I used a different brand this time-it was Tyson and these were great! Very moist I fact super moist compared to the other hens I purchased a few weeks ago.

Thanks you Bruce for the instructions.
Did you put the roast or grill set up on your ninja 🙂
I have a Ninja Foodi Smart XL Pro Air Oven DT251. Is the recipe and cooking time the same?
With the oven it may be a bit longer. Use a thermometer to help u out. Thx
they came out good try stuffing them , I am going tro try stuffing them with wild rice
Oh. I like the wild rice stuffing-I may try the wild rice or cornbread stuffing. Thanks Stephanie!

So if you are cooking 4 do you increase the time?
No the cooking time wouldn't be increased unless they are packed in there where the air cannot circulate mourned hen.
Sorry to go off topic. I would like to ask if you have the hot and cold blender and if so have you got any recipes please
Yes I have it. Haven’t posted any videos yet. Will soon! Thanks Stephanie!
Thanks for the video. I was wondering if we can add Aluminum foil over the chicken, and add some water?
Yes you can-thanks Simin!
wanna do these stuffed with wild rice or cornbread stuffing
Hi Stephanie, I would use 350F they will take a little longer to cook- I’m assuming this as I still need to do these stuffed.
Is that on roast or air fryer?
You can use either function
Have u made the STUFFED HENS at all yet?I got a couple from the meat dept. fer an awesome deal the other day, but have never made one in the oven muchless my Foodi or Foodi Grill so...🤔🤪😝🤤
No I haven't yet-so many. recipes so little time! Thanks Shana!

Your welcome Glockman40! Thanks!
those are some big cornish game hens where I'm at they're just little dinky things. Those look almost as big as some of our chickens at Walmart

Potatoes and carrots? I’m *prepping some Cornish hens in the foodi grill and this video has been so helpful!
@@Belle8kins thanks!
Why didn’t you use the grill plate and keep the birds out of the grease so the skin crisps up

She should’ve sprayed olive oil Pam and sprayed the Cornish with olive oil cut the bird so you can cook them flat
Thanks for the tip Brett!
Lisa will be stuffed after eating some of them lol
I am stuffed! lol.
when are you going to do that video

You warn us about not using the butter for anything else, but, you contaminated the salt on at least two occasions and never said a word about it!
Sorry to be the downer but as a chef all the cross contamination is just to much for me. Also, please use plastic cutting boards for poultry.
Thanks. for the feedback!
Ha ok glad I wasn't the first one to notice 🤣. The hens look great though!
