I usually hate those atomic retro diagonal legs, too. This table isn't giving that. The key is that they don't extend beyond the width of the table top. Also the leg shape isn't that skinny tapered cylinder style that's become ubiquitous.
Yeah, I think it's because they have the square edges. They look more traditional that way.. instead of like a satellite.

I really don't like the white clamp lights on your bed. Maybe if they were black or wood. I think plug in wall sconces or lighting in someway on the wall would be better. Just my opinion. It could be because they look like they obstruct movement, I keep thinking you might hit your head on them.

I think it's just a coincidence they found a portrait of a guy that looks like John K and are claiming it's him as a joke. It looks like the sort of amateur portrait you find at flea markets (like the Brimfield flea market where they found this painting)...the type where someone was assigned to do a portrait for a painting class. Abandoned painting class art can be fabulous.

SW Naval won for wall color, took me months to decide. I'm staying true to my Pinterest mood board, hoping a bold runner works. 1. I'm obsessed with that lamp above the new art. Like, I want it. Also, maybe a cord cover would go well?
2. The new cushion covers go great with all the other nearby patterns, such as your upholstered sofa, WAS pillows, fireplace tile. And I want that jazz poster too.
3. The side table is cool. I think the angled legs are different because they're not cylindrical. And the wood tone makes it look more handmade and not of an inauthentic midcentury replica piece.

Love the art above your bed! Also your couch looks so comfortable. And I think the plaid bench was a great move as well. That giant bowel could be used for fruit too. Maybe store it under your bed or some other place when not in use. Or could be a catch all bowel in the office area. The shower curtains are fun! I feel like so many people mess shower curtains up and get a tacky or just cheap looking one. I agree with your thoughts on the side table too.

I really appreciate your take on having personal artwork in your home, as opposed to something you buy at Homesense, etc. But, respectfully, when you call all art pieces “art” it’s kinda like asking someone what they’re having for dinner and they say “food”. It makes it sound like just a prop for your home, rather than something someone made. Such as a painting or photograph, or a print, etc.
The re-filled couch and new upholstery ottoman and side table are soooooooo good! I’ve always loved that lamp on the bar, but I have to admit the cord drives me nuts. Love the new print over the bed…and the size totally justifies the space. The painting by Basma (sp) is outstanding. I’m sorry - but that gorgeous artwork leaning on the wall and sitting on the floor is maddening. Never sit art on the floor. (Although I can’t even handle large mirrors sitting on the floor). Please hang it. And the light overtop looks like something a tradesperson would use over their work bench. It deserves a proper art light. Please, give it the dignity it deserves :)
