This arrangement strikes me as more dramatic than the exquisitely hymnal version of 2007. Ily Matthew Maniano's countertenor has a different vibe and impact than the earlier soprano rendition - different not better, mind you. Apples and oranges. Personally, I tremendously enjoyed this Maniano-soloed arrangement, as well as Madz's other performances of this piece in Astillero and Taipei.

Was just learning more about Paul Anka's "My Way"; one of the things I learned was that only the lyric is Anka's; checked out the French original as sung by Claude Francois...and then ran across this. Wow, people. Bravo.

Not really, it's because Ily need to sit at the middle seat to sing the solo part. Sir Mark flew to US this day, Ily took place of his seat for this concert.

Ily Maniano wasn't the only countertenor in the Madz. There were a lot more before him and Sir Mar: Christopher Borela and Eudenice Palaruan, to name a few.
