Perhaps using the end support would help. The bar could be bending?

thats the point. adjust the lathe to gat it to cut straight. after you work out all those bugs, then you move on the the tail stock. you have to adjust that one too. that way everything is straight and you can use the lathe and get good parts no matter which part of it you are using.

Am not a machinist yet can you set a center pin on the opposite side and remove chatter on the turning

yes, but that would not show me a how true my cut is. after i get the head adjusted correctly so that i gat a good straight cut i will move onto the tail stock adjusting, just like i did before. this is a long procces that i am taking one step at a time.

You need a known good dead straight accurate test bar. Mounted exactly on axis over its whole length with a 4 jaw and use that as your reference. There are too many variables cutting your reference now. For 1 thing I wouldn't hammer it on the chuck. that could be disturbing the bearings and their mounted positions. I have that exact same machine and it can cut 24" long +/- .0001 between centers repeatedly.

not a chance in hell on that one.
my six jaw chuck is the adjustable type. i can dial in my bar stock as needed.

@@TatroMachine You still need an accurate test bar as a reference and cutting one ain't gonna cut it.😁
