He was made in a lab 😂
That's the flawed thinking that makes Homelander so dangerous. As a kid he was very sweet and kind. You have to remember that he was exposed to people and spoke with people regularly as a child. He was taught how to read and write. He watched movies. His true issue is within. It's not skin deep. You put 100 people in his same situation and like 5 will turn out like him. 5 would be worse. 20 would feel robbed and saddened but they wouldn't want revenge, just an apology. 60 would eventually become normal after living a normal life and 10 would use it to stop Vought and tell people the truth. While the numbers are made up, it emphasizes that not everyone will become a psychopathic serial killer. Just because your past was robbed from you, doesn't mean you have to rob your future from yourself

The parallel from this to the last season is amazing, Ryan shamed for what he did by the only person he looked up to and accepted by the one he was raised to fear. I know Homelander is a killing machine, but you can tell he's missing something. The only thing he ever wanted was a normal life, but he was the "lucky" one born with powers, and marketed as a super hero. In the animated series you can see he wanted to be a hero, he wanted to truly be the superman style heros he read about, with heroic catch phrases like "the police will come to pick you up, now stay here" while baring a person around the neck, ultimately choking them. He's a character you can understand why he's "evil" from his 1st day alive, he was just "product" to be sold, and he eventually turned into what they wanted him to be.

@@naruto7034 my dude he pushed his son off of their house to see if you could fly my man Ryan got a broken bone after that anyways I wouldn't say Homeland was a good dad I would more say he's dad-ish but not a dad
@@ocksahlnestreves6139come on, it is true that homelander is psycho and evil but he wasn't so bad as a "dad". I mean I can see he cares about his son and can do many things for him.
@@silent1888 okay sure the scene where he lasers the guy who threw a tomato Ryan was kind of wholesome but let's not forget he pushed his son off of a building and his son broke a arm
The acting is crazy
In Butchers eyes you can immediatly the sadness ... like for the first time he felt someting like empathy towards Homelander, yet knowing that he is a danger to everyone around him and needs to be killed, as it is the only way to make sure he cannot cause more damage than he alreafy did
Or you know, I'm just reading too much into this
This scene made me cry,and the laugh was like a mix of sadness and betrayal.

Antony Starr is a beast, his facial expressions are on point
He was born for this character. Its perfect for him. Damn that send chills to my spine

It really feels like even though he was heartbroken by Stormfront’s condition, he still was trying not to lose his shit with Ryan
Homelander is really trying to be a good dad, even if he doesn’t always give the best fatherly advice
Trying but failing miserably because he’s a completely irredeemable monster

Bro, this actor is just like Homelander, bro, this is perfect
Man who’s got nothing lose is the most dangerous man of all time🥵🔥
i disagree, its only once he had something to protect (his son) that he killed a man not carrying how the crowd would react
most successful men have something to care for which keeps them working while alot of nobody’s have nothing and they do nothing about their nothingness
more dangerous is a man who’s willing to risk it all.
@@myagu6723 everyone has their own opinions when you have something to worry for and care about it’s a sense of responsibility but when you have nothing to lose it’ll take you to the other level which is no fear of death
What a lame, over said, and often untrue comment
Song..?
Damn this actor most definitely was born for this role, the face, the overall creepy look, changing emotions perfectly, not to even talk about how he brings homelanders evil spark out
He can both scare and mentally scar you
i personally think anthony is the best method actor after this film, he completly goes into character without letting a single shimmer of his IRL personality show. truly amazing. He plays a sadistic narcisist so well
hes also incredible in Banshee on HBO, same story
That's not method acting, it's just acting.
I was also going to say that’s not method acting. Method acting is where one adopts a character and lives it throughout production. They have to stay in character to keep from losing that character. Really good actors don’t need to do that; they can go from joking and being happy IRL to playing intense drama in a second. That’s not to say method is bad, it’s just a different way of doing it. But actors generally say they admire those who don’t need to do method since method can be psychologically damaging (because actors have to take on the traits of their character for a time) and just being able to flip into a character on demand takes a lot more talent.
@@keirfarnum6811 idk, id say being able to consistently survive that psychological stress while method acting is a skill on its own
You obviously haven't watched anything with Andy Serkis
The deep pain and regret being subued by overwhelming hate and ego all being showed within a span of 2 seconds is so deep and haunting, it immediately caught my attention the first time i saw this scene. Antony Starr is an absolute artist with the way he portrays this broken yet menacing character.
He gives me one hell of a performance every time.
He is truly amazing.

But he also gained that and his son finally has powers.
He almost wept until his mind latched onto the fact that it was his son, and then immediately thought up delusions of how he would make his sons life better than anyone else ever coukd because he is the greatest.
