I just finished watching the Paris Olympics, and I was like… did these always make me cry this hard when they talk about the closing ceremonies. I had to watch this one, because Bob Costas is amazing (and this was his last Olympics)…. Reminds me why I love the spirit of the olympics. Thank you for a good (but happy) cry tonight
It's funny i didn't like Bob Costas at first when he started hosting the Olympics way back in 1988 i just felt he came off a little smarmy but he really grew into the job and was truly a worthy successor to Jim McKay. He is missed.
The voice of the Olympics. I've watched this man narrate my Olympics since I was a child in 1992. He's all I've ever known as the host of the Olympics. We will never see his like again.
Such a perfect score for the Olympics. The triumphant beginning, the heartbreaking middle parts, the anticipation-filled buildup, and then the glory of the climax. It really captures the entire spirit of the Olympics in a single song.
Man. Phelps was the closing shot of four of these montages in a row. Obviously these are biased toward American athletes since it’s an American network, but it’s still crazy to think that the same athlete was the main story for four separate Olympics across 12 years. What an absolute legend.
This was Bob Costas 12th and last Olympics as an nbc broadcaster from seoul 1988 until Rio 2016 and the 11th as a prime time broadcaster minus seoul 1988.
Every the Olympics close, I cry. And I seldom cry. It's like losing a friend, really. It reminds me of all that is good, and that the world can come together in peace, even if only for sport.
I miss the production quality they used to have on NBC. I feel like starting in 2020 they tried to be less dramatic or something but it completely misses the point of the Olympics being different than a normal sporting event.
This was bob final speech man from 92-2016 he was truly the master of ceremonies in the Olympics what an honor...Meanwhile mike turico he did a great job two years ago in pyeongchang. Can’t wait for a memories in Tokyo 21…(thanks covid)Beijing 22 (deal with it)Paris 24 Milan/Cortina 26 and my city LA in 28.
I'm a huge boxing fan and when your champion wins it's madness in the crowd but nothing compares to the Olympics simply because we see ourselves in them .....ordinary athletes competing on the world stage of sports. We celebrate with them too.
damn, I grew up watching the olympics every four years and this years Tokyo olympics broadcasts felt a little off for some reason. Then I remembered that the atmosphere isn’t the same without the crowds, and without bob costas hosting it just didn’t feel the same as before. Gonna miss him
Its not guaranteed phelps is completely done yet. He hasnt completely ruled out tokyo. Because of costas i liked the opening of every olympics ever since i was 13 in 92 barcelona
Well it's because Costas would always have nostalgia tied to him so nobody would have any chance to be preferable over Costas. So overall I'd say Tirico was a good replacement.
I did record and upload it, but the International Olympics Committee decided to blocked the video after it has finished processing. Let just said, I have to wait for the video to be unblocked after a month for you guys to watch.
Bob Costas, Final Gymnastics Crew of the Russian Coaches, Phelps 8, Katie Destroying Swim Records, Neymar winning in a Penalty Shot for Brazil, On and On and on, what an Olympics. OH, and our athletes WERE PROUD to fight for the USA.
Bob Costas will always be the voice of the Olympics - we're gonna miss you, Bob!
Did he died
@user-zu8do2vx7n nope he retired from nbc Olympics 2017

These closing "Titans Spirit" montage are always so incredible. The closing from last night was equally inspiring. Beautiful stuff.
He left with the Greats,Phelps,Bolt, this was a Legendary Olympics

Will miss you, Bob Costas. ☹️ You always did have a way of ending NBC's Olympic broadcast in an emotional way.
Bob Costas is a legend of NBC Sports

This aged well
Despite COVID-19, Tokyo 2020/21 shattered new records in terms of nations winning one medal and winning one gold.
Parabéns Bob Costas, por elogiar nosso trabalho na rio 2016 e elogiar nosso povo brasileiro
I don’t think anyone makes sports magical the way NBC can

the 2021 olympics is coming up i am excited about it
This was the last time the Olympics had aura. Hope it comes back in paris

Thanks for posting, I can never watch these closing credits in front of anyone. I'm a crying mess.
The Olympics are amazing bob will be missed if he doesn’t continue doing it.
This was the soundtrack of the movie (Remember the Titans) 😂
Thank you Trevor Rabin for this great one of a kind piece.
If you don't recognize this, it's from Remember the Titans.
Looks the countdown is on in Tokyo, Japan .. I'm looking forward to seeing the Olympics this year. So many memories about the last edition.

Be ready for this Friday's Opening Ceremonies!!
On to Tokyo
If they will happen. Covid is not being controlled there.
@@Mrcharles. It’s too close to cancel them now. We’re 30 days from competition starting and 32 away from the opening ceremony
Last Olympics without pinkeye for Bob
Mike is a great host…but I still miss seeing Bob Costas
It sounds like an off air tone at 6:52?
i cheer for the usa olympic team in the summer olympic games they are excellent at this sport
Australia, China, Canada, and Great Britain are also great in the Summer Games. France did very well as the host nation this year.
The Olympics won’t be the same without Michael Phelps.

And now he’s part of the NBC broadcast team for the 2020 Olympics
I wonder if there's anybody out there who could possibly get the NBC Olympics closing for 2018 please?

What serious issues happened in Rio? I don’t remember.
Did you happen to record the one from Tokyo last night? NBC apparently not gonna post it for us.
