Pretty sure it's not a CVT. In Honda's E-Drive, the petrol engine is either acting as a generator supplying power directly to the electric motor(s), or once high speed is reached, it clutches in, directly driving the wheels for highway cruising. E-Drive. It's like they didn't even try. C'mon Honda. Anyway, it's almost more of a transfer case than a transmission. Or one could think of it as a "1 speed" transmission, I guess.
Prelude owners who love the 6 Speed Manual would hang there heads in shame Honda really.Honda Type R 6 speed Manual my Type R 2007 model 6 speed Manual and is in A1 condition love it.A Coupe is not a Hybrid or a EV paddle sticks on the wheel really a farce all Prelude lovers want a 6 speed speed simple as that.
@@Snip59 honda already have civic si and type r, there's really no need to sell more manual transmission, especially in today's age. You can judge however you want, but from business perspective, the clients they are aiming is for people who want affordable, hybrid sport coupe, which is not common currently. Toyota doesn't have hybrid sport cars, and Honda and Toyota always compete each other, so I can see the reason for it.
@@hontonix1413 Indeed but let me say this Hybrid in Australia are over the top in price KLMS is less then 450 then a recharge to have your own charging system at home for quick charge is not cheap. Many of my friends have EV Tesla and are unhappy. Many dealerships are not happy either. My friend who lives in Texas says most hate the EV to many problems less on resale. another 200HP mistake by Honda. That's WITH electric motors and a CVT. They had a chance to stand out here with the Prelude but it's ruined. I'm guessing a 36k MSRP too.
Interesting can’t wait to see it in person
Same
Fun, practical, great mpg, epic reliability.... perfect daily. 100% getting one. If you want aggressive, thats what the civic type r is for.
@@fj06carnone More trims should be released in the future as well with higher HP.
Nice
This should be a lighter car than the Civic? The Civic hybrids have been running in the low 6's. It's still a year away. I think it will be fun?
@@keithjackson4985 From the tests I have seen Hybrid Civics are running high 6s at best.

I just hope this sells for Honda so they don't quickly kill it. Market for coupes is bleek at best.
Yes but not EV Prelude should be a 6 Speed. Not this crap.
We want a 6 speed Manual not Ev or the other crap Prelude owners want a 6 speed Coupe.

There was a big gap between the Civic and Prelude when the last Generation was around. Not the case anymore.
