Music by the Baytovens was dripping with the sound of SanFrancisco psych.

When I feel my heart inside
    I loved her,
    She's been my pride.
    Luv look away
Now she's gone, and I was wrong,
Its too late, and say so long.
Luv look away, here what I say.
You said you care, but your love not there
I counted wrong to go on.
    ------
How I feel the heart inside
she is gone I dont know why,
    Luv look away.
Slipping time, I still go on
Such as love im going on.
luv look away, here what I say
you said you care but your love not there.
I counted wrong to go on.

When I feel my heart decide
I know that she's hurt my pride
    Love, look away
Now she's gone and I was wrong
It's too late, just say so long
    Love, look away
    Hear what I say
    You said you cared
    But your love wasn't there
    I felt it wrong
    To go on
How I feel the hurt inside
She is gone, I don't know why
    Love, look away
Slipping time, I still go on
Such is love, I go on
    Love, look away
    Hear what I say

    I felt it wrong
    To go on

One of the great "Garage Bands" from the Bay Area in the late 70's. Dwight Pitcaithley was lead and held the group together. He's living the dream aboard his sailboat in the San Leandro Marina! Lucky Dude!!

Great lead vocal and guitar arrangement. I was in high school in Ohio at the time and don't recall ever hearing this band on the radio. My loss. So glad I subbed your channel and got to hear it 50 years later.

This was reissued as the b-side to another unreleased track that they recorded, and while that track is also amazing, I feel that this would have been the better a-side. It’s simply more advanced in all around creativity and musicianship. I would even say that this track is up to par with more mainstream bands like the Byrds. If I didn’t know who this really was, I would just think it was some other Byrds song. It’s a shame that this never met a wider audience.

Reminds me a little bit of the Outsiders (the US band). Or something I can't quite put my finger on...early Turtles? Great lead singer and band, wish they'd made a whole album or several.

Great ear, Trip. The lead vocal here sounds a lot like The Outsiders' Sonny Geraci on "Time Won't Let Me."

1966 recorded, but never pressed as a record back then. Maybe seemed ordinary back then, EXTRORDINARILY GREAT TUNE to me now!

      @@leeroth5604 hello
Many, many garage songs that seemed ordinary back then, the obscure ones that didn't chart or the ones that bubbled under, sound extraordinary today. ✌️

Or better! These four songs are truly fucking genius pop songs in every way.
