  • Join us today as we drop the Gheenoe into a lake to chase after one of the coolest invasive species South Florida has to offer. As a kid fishing for the butterfly peacock bass was one of my favorite pass times, not only because of how accessible they are but because of their tenacity, aggressiveness, fighting ability, and sheer beauty. 20 years later and I still have an absolute blast going after these incredible fish.
Originally from the amazon these fish were introduced by the FWC into south Florida's water way to help control the population of other invasive species. I feel truly blessed to have these fish at our disposal and going after them with topwater plugs made it a day I won't soon forget. Shoutout to my buddy Dennis who was behind the camera and did a great job capturing the true essence of these acrobatic trophies!
I hope you enjoy this cinematic peacock bass experience!

Dude! This video resonates with me so much. I grew up topwater fishing for peacocks nearly every day as a kid which is an excitement that even saltwater fishing can’t match. I can’t say enough good things about this channel. Production is top notch, you share helpful insights, you model safe sustainable ways of fishing and ultimately, your passion clearly shows in every video. You were built for this bro, all the risks will be worth it. Only a matter of time until you blow up and I’m here for it!

Another epic video! It went by fast! A lot of catch! I could really see the blue in that last peacock - and yeah, so pretty! Loved the music and all the scenery, commentary and the lesson! You're a fishopedia! I wonder what other fish have tell signs determining maile or female. Keep up the great work my favorite fisherman! XO🥰

They call that one the Zara Puppy, still plenty available. My Singapore buddy Isaac gave me some similar lures but a bit smaller, the Jabbers (his company) Honcho 65 which are great too. They use some crazy small stuff over there, he stayed here in Palm Beach and we fished Panama three weeks ago and he left me some crazy stuff including a 1" jerk bait. I've had really good days for bass and peas with the Plopper 75 also, the 65 looked promising but spins a lot whereas the 75 doesn't with that belly on it. The record for C. temensis is 29+ pounds and 92cm, I've lost plenty of big ones but am stuck at 21 and 22 pounds and 86cm after 13 trips but not giving up.

That’s some great info, thanks. I’m a big believer in the micro baits. I’m gonna look into some of those ones you mentioned. I’d love to make to the Amazon to fish for the big boys ones day. Thanks for checking out the video!

One of my favorite fish! What lake is that? I’d love to fish it! Usually I hit the banks that’s awesome they are out in the middle. Gotta be like the glades or connected?

I’m pretty sure it’s all connected to the Everglades. Can’t give away all my spots on here though haha
