  • Is this BabyMetal from alternate reality? I don't know really, but the song is catchy as hell!

    Miko's voice and style will be amazing to watch as she grows into the role. She's definitely a rising star!

    It's a cool concept that they are Babymetal for another universe. I love it. I have never heard of anything like that before.

    Very cool! Miko Todaka is perfect, and a brass section that Babymetal might consider introducing sometimes. Sakura Gakuin 🌸is definitely worth all the "garages" in the world !..more!

    These girls are cute juniors for BABYMETAL in the same office.💘

    In idol culture the existence of "sister groups" is very common, even babymetal started as a subunit of an idol group called Sakura Gakuin.
    Metalverse is an alternative project from the same babymetal producer and the girls also belong to the same idol group where babymetal started (Sakura Gakuin), although the girls are 10 years younger.
    For now this is the only song they have officially, but they have already done 4 live shows and debuted at the Summer Sonic festival in Japan, they already have enough songs to release an EP but for now we only have this video, if you liked them you can stay tuned for upcoming songs. 😊

      Kokona Kato was in Ciao Girl, another Amuse, Inc. project, not Sakura Gakuin.

    I like what we've seen so far from Metalverse. Miko Todaka (the singer) is definitely a star capable of making this a success.
    All the lore aside, it's a new project by Amuse which is the media company behind Babymetal. The members come from Sakura Gakuin which is the same academy where Babymetal was started back in 2010. The members are as of today between 14 and 17. It wouldn't make sense to make a Babymetal copy, so they seem to lean more towards pop with this project to capture a new audience, while keeping many of the things that people love about Babymetal. They didn't have a live band at this event, but they have had show(s) with Babymetal's kami band before. It's still early days, but they seem to make good progress.

      Four of the five members are Sakura Gakuin alumni.
      Kokona was in Ciao Girl, another Amuse, Inc. project.

    Thanks for reacting to this. You are correct with the lore, Metalverse is said to be Babymetal from an alternative reality. According to the lore, there are infinite alternative realities, which leads to speculations that we may also see more versions of Metalverse or that they might change members.
    Three of the five girls had their first appearances with Babymetal in spring last year when they performed Karate and Doki Doki Morning together with Babymetal. People called them Chibimetal back then (Chibi=tiny). They had their first solo appearance as a five girl group at summer sonic in August last year and solo concerts in August and February. Since then, the members didn't change. Four of the five girls are From Sakura Gakuin, the Unit where Babymetal also started. The lead singer Miko Todaka comes from Hiroshima, started in "Acting School Hiroshima" and then was in Sakura Gakuin, exactly like Su-Metal. Their music seems to be more on the pop side, With crazy J being their most iconic song until now with a strong swing influence.

      It might be interesting to mention, when it comes to Summer Sonic, their is a very long history for Babymetal: Babymetal also had their first mayor festival appearance at Summer Sonic and the Summer Sonic 2023 performance of Metalverse was at the same stage as Babymetal, Babymetal were the closer, Metalverse the opener. One of the organizers of Summer Sonic went to Babymetal's very first live show in 2012, because he used to be in a band with Kobametal. Babymetal in 2012 at Summer Sonic was not at a regular stage, it was at the food court, smaller than the smallest music act stage. The stage was used for comedians the rest of the day.

    Thanks for this reaction.
    As they say during the audience interaction: swing, swing, swing.
    So I was thinking: Swing music. And Swing music actually originated in the late 1920s, early 1930s, part of the jazz genre (I wasn't 100% certain either, I just looked it up).
    What would be really interesting to know: are some of their songs Babymetal 'reject' songs ? Were they first developed for Babymetal and it didn't fit Babymetal after all, but then when Metalverse started they could actually use them because they would fit ?

    • @mikroimp
      @mikroimp  5 місяців тому

      Yeah, this is what I was thinking about. Definitely swing influences, and it was a nice combination with rock/metal style. So yeah, 1920s-30s is more like it.
      Hmm, maybe these could be songs that wouldn't fit todays Babymetal music. But this way, they can use them with Metalverse a later fuse the bands together. Who knows? We'll see.

    • @autohmae
      @autohmae 5 місяців тому +1

      @@mikroimp I don't think their will be fusion. As far as I can see Metalverse is just an experiment to give the young ladies more experience like Sakura Gakuin was for giving them experience. But like Babymetal came out of SG and became something permanent, who knows !

    • @rickwagner-
      @rickwagner- 5 місяців тому +1

      I believe they're new songs.
      For 'Crazy J', the songwriters are:
      Lyrics: MK-METAL (Mikii Watanabe), TAKEMETAL (Takeru Youda).
      Composition: TAKEMETAL (Takeru Youda)

      @@rickwagner- those are definitely some names we've seen before if I'm not mistaken.

      @rickwagner- 5 місяців тому

      @@autohmae Yes, they've both been around since the first album, but I don't think TAKEMETAL has any songwriting credits on Metal Resistance.
